GST is for single peeps while child benefit is for married peeps right?.. A married person can't apply for GST right ?

Thanks
GST is for single and married as long as you qualify based on income... Child benefit is for anybody with child (single parent or married)

You are not eligible..you haven't worked nor have you payed tax..you don't have CRA account. How would you want to get GST/PST.You can't apply for EI or the new CERB package since you never settle in the system.
You can get GST. Cheques are sent to you with or without CRA account. Can't apply for EI. But he can apply for GST

You only qualify as PR when you land in Canada. I think both your SSN and PR card are given to you at the port of entry.
You are correct, but you only get SIN at the port of entry and PR card is later sent to your address

POF for one person is around 12,000CAD which is approximately 3.3m

If you read the story, she traveled with her husband. And she also added her wedding cost which was around 2.5m.

If the cost was only 2m, all Nigerians would have been in Canada now.
Why would you add wedding cost to costs incurred in relocating? I gave birth here should I add the costs too as part of my relocation cost?
She could have gone to registry and pay only $200, why didn't she?
How is POF in your account a cost please?
People have landed and not use the POF, so should they keep including it in the cost of relocating. Anyways it's a blog, na them know

POF for couple is 4.4m. You also pay some money to the CAD govt for the residency document. Then flight tickets and initial accommodation: Abi una go sleep under snow?
I got house before I landed, we didn't spend up to "8.8m" for family of 3. The POF is your money in your account. So is it a cost?

How did it cost 8.8million? the maximum amount should be 2million, inclusive of IELTS, Wes, medicals, police report, application fee. The proof of funds is for them to keep and use in settling down.

Sorry to ask bro,

Are you still using Nigerian passport? I mean you applied for US visa with Nigerian passport and got 10yrs Visa. Or is it another visa type and not B1/B2?. My opinion is that, US only grants 2yrs visa (B1/B2 category) for Nigerians (atleast that's what I and friends that I know have) even though I applied and got it in Canada.
Permanent residents usually get 10years

Aight Doc..Was told its eaasri5r to get your preferred residency placement in Canada than UK..What say you?
coming with residency training from the UK/SA/US makes placement in Canada easier. It's a bit complicated

A couple of questions, I have a brother who just got his permanent Canadian residency approval but said he'd be fully confirmed by 2021(he'd be able to be voted for a public office and invite family members). So I want to know what I can do to be eligible for the invite. I'm a graduate, currently a business person, have portions of land and this is my first attempt of traveling outside Nigeria. Any suggestions from those who may have gone through the process?
What does he mean by fully confirmed? When you get your PR visa and land in Canada, you become a permanent resident from that day (can vote in some elections but not national election until you are a citizen and invite family) he should get a job first before inviting people. You stay for 2years in a 5year period so you can renew the PR, or stay 3years, write exam, pass and become a citizen. You should work on your travel history, account balance and family/home ties. There's no law that states you must get a visa because your brother is there. There are different types of visas sha.

Good morning my landed seniors, Please can anyone confirm for this from their own experience?
You probably won't be able to get SIN done on a weekend. All you need to do is Google "Service Canada" nearest to you and go there on a weekday

It's the US visa you can not apply for while visiting another country (e.g the UK) with a visitor's visa except in very rare/exceptional cases

Ok, thank you so much. But my mum applied for a US visa while visiting the UK in 2015, tho she's previously been to the US before in 2013. Thanks again.

Hello Liz019. Please do you mean you were charged 210 USD for every KG OVER 23kg of your required 2 luggages OR you were charged 210 USD for EACH BAG as you stated meaning that even if the bag weighed 112kg, a person would still pay 210USD?

Each overweight bag is 210USD. Each bag can not weight more than 32kg. If it is, you cargo it.

As a US permanent resident, I did not need a VISA to visit Canada, All I did was pay about $30 at the airport and an ETS was printed for me.

I guess it will be same thing for a person who has a Canadian permanent residence while visiting US
He needs a visa. Only Canadian passport can get you into US without visa. He's not yet a permanent resident as he hasn't landed. All he has is a visa. No PR card/SIN etc

The maximum bank statement any embassy can request for is 6 months. Canada requires 4 months bank statement, they have never requested for 1 year bank statement.
Says who? Canada has asked for more than a year bank statement

Hi! What if you stay six months in total before and after birth?
Hi, I don't know how it's calculated, but I think the idea is you stay and work, thereby paying taxes and contribute to the system, not just take advantage of the free care and move on.

@Dame91 also there is a six months clause for birthing in Alberta. You can't just birth and go. You live for 6months before or after the birth.

I am pretty aware I don't need to buy or book a confirmed airticket for VISA APPLICATION.
Please how do I go about getting a reservation? God bless you as you help a brother . smiley
Go to the airline website,
Select "book a ticket" or something close to that,
Select your dates and departure/arrival time.
Then book on hold.
They will send you an email confirming your ticket is booked on hold.
Print that out and use it for your application.
