FA CUP PREDICTION
(To be played on Saturday 30th May at 1500 BST)
b   BBC Lawro's prediction
Chelsea v Everton

Guus Hiddink is a top manager, always has been and always will be, but he is up against one of Britain's finest, in my opinion, in David Moyes

I think the FA Cup final shapes up to be a very well-balanced match.

First of all, look back at the league matches between the sides this season - both were 0-0, tight affairs with no quarter asked for nor given.

Add to that the tension, build-up and pressure involved in a Cup final, allied to the fact that it is forecast to be hot and sunny on the day, and it all seems to be set up for a hard-fought, close game.

As far as Everton are concerned, that will suit them because I don't for one second expect them to come out and play an open and expansive game at Wembley.

They will want to keep it tight, play with patience, and attempt to swallow Chelsea's attacking threat.

I expect they will play five across the middle behind a lone striker, attempting to break with pace and power when the chance arises.

I hold Chelsea in high regard - they are a top team - but they don't necessarily have a player who can pry defences open with a defence-splitting pass or a mazy dribble; instead, they look to work you.

Because of that, I think they can be frustrated.

Still, Guus Hiddink is a top manager and he is very rarely found wanting tactically. On top of that, he is clearly a good man manager and he is doing very well to get the best out of what is clearly a very talented bunch of players.

We love being the underdogs,  ALL the pressure is on Chelsea, in particular Hiddink!

Woody (1878) Nil Satis Nisioptimum
The Dutchman is up against one of Britain's finest, though, in my opinion. David Moyes has done a tremendous job at Everton and, outside of the top four, he is as good if not better than anyone.

Of course, both will be desperate for glory - Hiddink so that he can end his Chelsea reign on a high, and Moyes so he has some silverware to go alongside his league successes of recent years.

But this is an FA Cup final and when was the last good one? The last couple have merely served as excellent adverts for cricket.

It will be tight, it will be hard-fought, and it will be dogged because it's inevitable players go into occasions like this thinking "don't lose".

For those reasons, I expect it to go all the way - possibly even 0-0 at the end of extra-time and into penalties.

And I have a sneaking suspicion that Everton will edge it on spot-kicks

AMEN!!!

EVERTON'S ATTACKING THREAT"All of this will ensure Everton's approach will be nothing if not patient.

"They will aim to be tight at the back and quite defensive minded in midfield, with an eye on work-rate and keeping their shape, hitting Chelsea on the break whenever they can.

"But that's not to say Everton cannot trouble Chelsea in attack.

"Moyes has had real injury problems this season up front, and at times we've seen them play without a main frontman and still be successful. They've had to play a certain way this season because of those injuries up front, and in many ways that can help them at Wembley.

"Firstly, among a hard-working midfield is a selection of players happy to break into the box - Leon Osman, Marouane Fellaini, Steven Pienaar and, in particular, Tim Cahill.

"Much like Lampard, Cahill is more than capable of making those late runs into the box that can be so hard to defend against.  ;DBut the Australian also brings a tremendous aerial ability to the party, and he gets on the end of so many crosses he can be such a danger.

"What Everton have to guard against is being so keen to nullify Chelsea that fail to get enough players in forward wide positions to supply the ammunition for those late runs. If they can provide the crosses, Everton have the players - in midfield and attack - to score from them.

"We've also seen this season that Everton are a real threat from dead-ball situations.  ;DLescott, in particular, can come up from defence and score goals and I'd wager Moyes will look at any frailty he can identify in Chelsea's defence and look to exploit it from free-kicks and crosses."

NULLIFYING LAMPARD
"I expect Everton to flood the midfield in a 4-5-1 formation, and I think it is vital for Moyes to detail one player at man-marking Lampard - possibly Phil Neville or Marouane Fellaini.

"If you come up against a player who can break from midfield, it's something you always find difficult to combat as a defender, so it's hugely important you are helped by your midfield, and your defensive midfielder is a vital player.

"Lampard, as we all know, is the absolute expert at making those late runs from midfield and getting into goal-scoring positions. With Malouda, Drogba and Anelka occupying the back four, Lampard knows if he gets into the box, those three have the ability to find him.

"Whoever has the job of marking him has to stick to him like glue, because if you lose him only for a moment, he will pop up in a dangerous position and punish you.

"Everton have a lot of hard-working runners in the midfield, all of whom are seeing the benefits of the way Moyes wants them to play with the success they're enjoying in the league and Cup.

"When you've got that formula and you know it works, you get a far better reaction from the players because they see the results out on the pitch. It makes everyone a more willing runner, a more willing worker, and that's pivotal to Everton's play.

"They must hassle, harry and out-work their Chelsea midfield opponents, while also being clever to track the runs from midfield that could potentially expose a defence that will be being pulled from pillar to post by Chelsea's front three."
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Everton Fc Fan Zone! ! by switch47(op): 6:48pm On May 29, 2009
COMBATTING THE FRONT THREE cool cool
"I'm sure Chelsea will stick with the principles and players that have served them so well of late because they've found a way of playing that suits them. That most probably means a front three of Florent Malouda, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka - and that trio is lethal.

"Malouda, finally, has hit some form. We've all been waiting for him to spark off given his obvious talent, but until recently he's been very disappointing. Now he's showing what he's really capable of.

"Through the middle, Didier Drogba - on his day - is unplayable. He's big, he's strong, he's skilful, and most importantly he knows where the goal is.

But, for me, the key to Chelsea's frontline this season has been Anelka. I expect him to start on the right of the three and he's such a good footballer, he has shown he can succeed anywhere.

"When he starts out wide, he can do a lot of damage. He can scores goals from there, he can cut inside, he can drift and he can cross too which is hugely advantageous - he sets goals up as well as scoring them and it will be key for Everton to stop him.

"That means the full-backs face a big task.

"Leighton Baines and Tony Hibbert have to cut the supply lines into the box to give the centre-halves as much help as possible in keeping Drogba quiet.

"Of course, Everton will be without the injured Phil Jagielka and I could not feel more sorry for the lad, it's desperately unlucky for the lad. But Everton have cover in Joseph Yobo and Joleon Lescott and they have the pace, power and nous to compete with Drogba, I'm sure.

"The difficulty that Everton face, though, is that when you have four defenders up against three attackers, it is easy to lose sight of the runners from midfield. And, in Frank Lampard, Chelsea have the very best in the business at making those runs…"

In an age when winning the Champions League is regarded by many as the ultimate prize, with Premier League success the benchmark in the domestic game, one could be forgiven for assuming the FA Cup has lost some of its glamour.

Try telling that to Guus Hiddink or David Moyes.

Chelsea, contemplating a second successive season without silverware, are desperate to bid adieu to Hiddink with a trophy, with midfielder Frank Lampard admitting he would be "devastated" to fall at the final hurdle at Wembley.
And, for Everton, a major domestic trophy would not only end a 14-year wait for silverware, but also go a long way to rewarding Moyes' impressive reign at Goodison Park with tangible success, a Cup to go alongside four top-six finishes in five campaigns.

For the Toffees to do that, though, they will have to upset the form book - Chelsea are odds-on favourites to pick up a fifth FA Cup.
BBC Sport spoke to three-time winner and Match of the Day 2 pundit Lee Dixon to analyse how Everton go about beating the Blues
THE FORM BOOK
"Everybody would make Chelsea favourites.

"There was a time, before Hiddink took over, when they were having such a poor run that they looked a team in complete disarray. But they've turned their season around, suffered just one defeat in 21 games, and they'll go into the game with such confidence.

PHIL McNULTY BLOG
The odds and statistics may favour Chelsea - but,  this is exactly how Moyes and Everton like it.

"Still, I don't think David Moyes will mind being underdogs at all - in fact, I'm sure he'll enjoy it.

"Everton have had a terrific season in their own right and Moyes will know, looking at the way his team have played and the teams his side have beaten, that they have every hope of beating another big team and picking up the trophy

THE VERDICT
"I'm notoriously bad at tipping, so don't go throwing your life savings away on my say-so!

"I think the best Everton can hope for, because I can't see them scoring too many goals, is to keep things tight and pinch a narrow 1-0 win.

"However. you look at Chelsea's team and you see goals in every department, ensuring it will be hugely difficult for Everton to nullify Hiddink's side in every area.

"The romantic in me would love to see Moyes win it, but I think it'll go Chelsea's way, 2-1."

Lee Dixon was talking to BBC Sport's Sam Lyon

QUOTES FROM ONE MR OGA (Half Man Half insult) A Devil is a liar

That will never happen in the EPL.
Did u see Xavi swearing at the ref?? Buncha hooligans.
Barcelona's defence is a joke. . . . . . .Vidic, Rio, Ronaldo should be licking their lips.

The last time United played BARCELONA, United murdered em.
That is the most important thing.
Scoring 104 league goals vindicate the fact that La Liga is very WEAK!!! (May 25 2009 7 38 pm)

Stop clutching at straws, bozo.
Barcelona have been beaten FIVE TIMES this season in La Liga(a league weaker than the EPL) compared to United's 4 league defeats.
They have played less games than United and they still got beaten in a weaker league.,
Barcelona don't have 100% record in the UCL as they suffered another defeat at Nou Camp.
United have not lost in the UCL for more than 2 YEARS. . . . . .United are better than Barcelona.
End of story.   May 25 2009  718pm   reply to khanye

They couldn't stop that from happening because Man Utd beat Barcelona convincingly.
Even when Messi dived at the death to win a penalty, it was very obvious he dived.
We go about our business with tact and technique.
Ferguson has beaten Barcelona once in an European final, he will do it again. (may 25 2009 611 pm)

Barca lost a Champions League game in this campaign.
United have not lost yet in the past 25 Champions League games.
We have the best attack and the best defence, the best goalkeeper. . . . . . .Barca have the best midfield
may 25 5;34 pm

You are a spastic camel.
United met Barcelona last season and they murdered em . . . . They also stopped em from scoring in 180 mins.
Arsenal(United's bitch) destroyed Villareal. . . . . .Liverpool(United's superbitch) destroyed Barcelona at Nou Camp some seasons ago.
This victory will be too easy for United. . . . . .Watch Ronaldo and Rooney run circles around Silvinho and Carceres. 5 34 pm  may 25 2009

Stop copying from goal.com to sound brilliant.
This is the laziest piece of journalism i have ever read on any sports website.

Barcelona are an attacking football side simply because they cannot DEFEND.
Like every other team in the world, they play to their strengths.
People accused Chelsea for being anti-football, that's a whole heap of applesauce.
A team like Barcelona(arguably the best team in the world) should be able to beat any team ahead of them.

English teams 'park the bus' for Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal in the EPL and they all scheme ways to beat their opponents.
United are a more balanced side than Barcelona.
Man Utd defence is better than Chelsea's(a team Barcelona managed to beat with the aid of a biased ref).
Moreover, they have better strikers who can finish Barca off on a counter-attack, something Chelsea failed to achieve at SB.

It will be a comfortable victory for United. may 25

@ Emperoh,

If Ferguson starts Giggs/Scholes then we would struggle against Barca.
He tried experimenting it against Arsenal at OT and we were pathetic for 90 mins.
Barcelona would capitalise on Giggsy's old legs and hurt our defence. We need ball winners in that midfield.
Park-Anderson-Carrick will disgrace Barca's midfield.

That question should be directed to Leo Messi not Ronaldo.
Cristiano has not failed yet to score against his opponents in every round of the K.O. stage.
His goals helped put Inter, Porto and Arsenal away(2 out of these 3 teams are champions of their domestic league).
Messi has not scored away from Nou Camp in the UCL K.O. stage.
He has been firing blanks. He can only dominate shit teams like FC Basel, Shakhtar Donetsk away from home.

Messi is not as pacy as Ronaldo.
Messi's right leg is useless.
Messi's aerial ability is pathetic.
Messi does not have long range shots.
Messi cannot score from dead-ball situations.May 26, 2009, 02:18 Pm

I felt the same way in the UCL semis when we met Arsenal at the Emirates.
We will beat FC Barcelona. . . . . .They were too lucky against Chelsea.Pep musta bribed Ovrebo at half time.   Yesterday at 04:59:53 PM

I woulda loved JS Park to tuck in the middle with either Tevez/Berbatov starting.
But, after Ferguson's 35 titles as a manager who am i to complain??

I think the defining moment in this game will be in the 2nd half.
Looking carefully at Barca's bench, it is embarrassingly WEAK with Gudjohnsen and Bojan being the only recognised threat on there.

United's bench have Tevez, Berbatov, Nani and Scholes waiting to come on and blow up like nitro.Yesterday at 07:10:02 PM

We played well. . . . . .No club has retained the Champions League.
United won it last season. . . . .Barca has won it tonight and maybe another team would win it next season.
Before this campaign, defending champions had always crashed out in the round of 16.

You should be ashamed.
Someone like you should not even be opening your mouth, shameless hilly billy.
Your club is yet to win a single trophy in 5 seasons and you are spewing fuckery all day.
Don't they sell shame at the Emirates??    Get some perspective man!!!

THE GUY don dey form fake activity now with some kind strange  Arguement /excuse in short its like this-------
