Hi again thanks for your response I want to be sure if spending 700k which is over 2 month my salary isn't a red flag cos my salary is about 300k and the 700k is about 2.5? And moreover are you so sure that the flight would be about 250k range thanks in anticipation.

quote author=AmeliaT post=110420292]Awwww. Switch!! You've been MIA. So sorry to hear about this.

I believe 600k-700k should be sufficient but itemize your budget clearly to them showing what you are paying for and what cuzzo is sponsoring. For example:
Flight- 250K
Entertainment- 200k
Shopping- 150K
Transport- 100k
Accommodation- Free as I'll be hosted by my cousin
Food- Free and will be provided for by my cousin

Also, clean up your statement and provide evidence of other ties to show you're not a potential flight risk. Goodluck!
Hi leef, thanks for taking your precious time to pen something meaningful to me,pls could you pls give me a break down on how to go about staying in an hotel, feeding transportation, flight and will total to about 700k as my salary is 300k and my balance is less than 2m. Thanks

Right, from personal point, i would advise rather than have your cousin involved you may be better off without. Get on cheap hostels and hotel booking sites, pick a place for your duration of visit such that it fits your budget. You may then want to state in the further section details of the application, that during your visit you intend to catch up with your cousin you have not seen for a decade, get to know his new family, also including the wedding in your itinerary would do good.
You may have to increase your budget since your cousin would not be involved in any parts. In doing so, you may wish to make things clear to the ECO that traveling is one of your hubbies, and England is atop the list. Stating, I have done savings in past years to ensure such dream comes through and have it ticked off the list, and that I feel I have adequately saved for this purpose(s). Which is why I'm willing to splash xxxx amount of funds on visiting the UK at this time, and in doing this, I am being pretty sure that this visit will have no negative effects on my finances or other financial commitments I have(i.e i'm assuming you have your own family or dependants or as would be the case).
Note: Let me add, your current budget is enough, even so i would say was the previous budget to be honest and It is within your applicant's right if you still wish to go with cousin in your future application. However, I feel his/her personal circumstances in the UK has not been convincing enough to the ecos that s/he could sufficiently host you, and possibly maybe relationship relevance between you and the said cousin has not been convincing to the ECOs.

So have thoughts on about changing plans but not the goal (which is to visit the UK) and see how things play out.
Cheers
madam/sir i am not apply for a visa, i got my 2 years visa renewed last week. That person said his cousin will accommodate him, and that he is paying for flight alone. Fine we understand that the 300k he wants to spend is not realistic and he can increase that amount, but the ECO still count you staying with someone as “sponsor” which doesn’t mean he can’t sponsor himself
@larade
The money I said I was going to spend is 500k could you put me through and I don't want to spend 3x salary canbi still say I want to stay in an hotel even after have decleared I have someone inviting me and what should be my budget is time thanks in anticipation.

cutebear:
You guys are not being realistic. I've explained everything that needs to be explained. You don't know that these ECOs think far and wide. If you are serious about getting the visa, start reading from at least page 400 of this page so that you can learn from people's mistakes.
Instead of learning from several refusals, why not learn from people's stories on this thread.

Am married with 2 kids and in my next application like how much can I say am spending in the UK is 700k fine.

@Switch900 you are single and you claim to earn 300k on a monthly basis. Your account balance should be healthy and you should be able to FULLY sponsor yourself for a trip to the UK since you earn very much above the average Nigerian. Also, don't even try to claim that you plan on just sitting down in your cousin's house in the Uk because it sounds unrealistic.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by switch900: 2:45pm On Jan 26, 2022
huh?

hmmm, ECOs had meeting for your and on your head oooo, reference last paragraph of the refusal.... "factors mentioned above, have not been taken in isolation but considered collectively".....
like sad it did not end positively, wish you success in next application
You're an adult who earns 300k monthly. This is above the average Nigerian salary. So why in the world is your cousin sponsoring your trip?? Even if your cousin adds his account statement, this is a red flag. Your story is just strange bro. I'm not an ECO and I'm not even convinced by your story

Am not sure if you read the refusal letter well there's no where it's says my cousins is sponsoring me though
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by switch900: 12:48pm On Jan 26, 2022
uote author=giselle237 post=109703714] oh my. That’s strange. Well. What was the purpose of your trip? You said family visit… pls explain this part…thank you.
U will have to reapply later, just dnt go now and look desperate.
I saw your explanation to cutebear. What documents did your cousin provide to support this application?
I actually submitted in Nov 8 hoping to see him and hes new family after about 10years he left Nigeria and hoping to attend a family traditional wedding with him,he gave an invitation letter is BRP some of the receipt of is bills payment biometrics page showing stay to leave in the UK and am not going with family just only me oo my budget was only to buy a ticket since cousin has stated in his letter that he would be responsible for upkeep while in the UK.how much do you think I should put in my next application as my salary is 300k or can I sum it up to 700k?.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by switch900: 10:52am On Jan 26, 2022
Hi Giselle, the deposit was a loan giving to a friend from the same account like 2wice about 20k/30k that's all

uote author=giselle237 post=109702761] and then the multiple cash deposits?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by switch900: 10:42am On Jan 26, 2022
Hi cutebear, thanks for this firstly am traveling alone,am going for a family visit my cousin invited me,the deposit in my account is just about 30k I borrowed a friend from my account like 2wice and he paid back that's why they couldn't indicate the amount and the date like they used to,the money I budgeted was for only flight, am visiting not tourism and there's no part I indicate am going with my family my acc balance was 1.250m then I was afriad using x3 of my monthly income which was 300k pls like how much can I indicate am spending this time as I want to put it in against Easter holiday.thanks

quote author=cutebear post=109702359]It’s not just that. There are unexplained deposits in your bank account. Before application, you are supposed to go through your bank statement to make sure that there aren’t other large deposits in your account apart from your salary. If there are large deposits, you are meant to determine the sources of these funds and then address it in a cover letter to the ECO with proof of the source of the funds.
If you want to avoid explanation, then you should keep your bank account very clean and free of large deposits for 6 months. Personally, I had to move my biometrics date forward by 2 extra weeks when I discovered I had over N4 million deposits from my crypto investments and I didn’t want to explain it to the ECO in order to avoid wahala. The deposits were early in my statement so I only needed to wait for 2 weeks for it to clear.
Also, what was your bank balance as at submission? The ECO said you are travelling with your family….if that means wife and children, you are meant to have a substantial amount of money for them too. If it’s your siblings/parents then, that doesn’t matter
Then there is the problem of your budget. Why would you budget 500k for your trip when flight ticket to UK costs around 400k. Then you plan on staying for 14 days. How will you pay for your hotel? Even if you’re staying with family, you will still need to buy food out, go on tours, do a bit of shopping, use transportation. Even taxi from airport to London will cost nothing less than 40-60k
You need to do some serious work on your finances, bank account, budget, savings, investments etc. Because it really looks like you want to Japa without returning.
Hello how do I address this I think the main thing is that the 500k I budgeted for is too small for this visit it's a family visit
