I also applied to Bielefeld to study History,Economics and Philosophy of Science. victree007: The three specified means of subsistence by the embassy are; 1. Blocked Account 2. Sponsorship Letter and 3. Scholarship (which I think your inquiry falls under) I don't think the embassy specified the particular scholarship or scholarship body that will be honoured by them. So I think you should contact the embassy directly to inquire if a local government scholarship will be ok. Personally I think it can fly sha. Scholarship is scholarship so long the terms and conditions are met. So look for a way to inquire from the embassy bro. Thanks bro I'm a sis actually. I'll email them and ask. |

Eldeee: I doubt if it's possible, if they want to help you as per their pikin, let them pay in the money into your block account. Or better still get an influential person in your community along side your dad to talk to your local government chairman. Make sure you explain to them how the system works so that they can better represent your case. Alright, thank you. I got a local government scholarship but they are supposed to pay me as monthly stipends not bulk. I'll see if they can reason with me in some way. |

Rosicky7: This kind of question is very annoying! On almost every page of this thread you will see that your sponsor must be residing in germany, yet people keep asking same question. It is not unreasonable or a punishment when you are asked to read the thread from the first page, it is for your own good. If you have nothing to say you can just ignore instead of typing anything that comes to your mind because you're behind a keyboard. I asked about a scholarship not a sponsorship letter or a blocked account which are the ones that have been discussed here at length. If the topic had been dealt with before I wouldn't be asking. |

Can I use a local government scholarship as my proof of financial capability? |

peemyke: I have said this countless times. Abuja embassy is for Abuja residents. But if you must use an Abuja address, please make sure it's a valid address. Not forgetting the fact the you are going to fill your application forms and the expect the said Abuja address. Not just that, your visa will be sent to you to the Abuja address. And if you don't have an Abuja address, stick to your respective addresses and get Lagos. Don't just use Abuja because you're in dire need of interview date. Please let's be guided. Thanks for clarifying, I appreciate |

Eldeee: And why are you making such enquires If you know your actions will not spoil anything. you would have waited to see the outcome before asking this.
It's been said over and over again, guys read and learn from other people's experience so that you won't get yourself worked up, how many times have we debated about this stuff here, if am not mistaken almost on a daily basis.
we suggested if you know your enrollment is September or probably early October, it will be better you use Abuja as your residence address to get a date at least.
Now you want to abuse the process and create more problems for other applicants who are aspiring to get admissions after all the long waiting.
Pls be guided. So even if I don't live there I can use Abuja as residence? Wouldn't this cause issues along the line? Wouldn't want to appear dishonest and have the VO toss my things into a waste basket or something |

upkay: Have u opened an account (fintiba or x-pario)? if yes, then upload ur acct opening confirmation doc together with ur admission letter and Int'l passport data page to book for ur visa appointment. Note; It is not necessary to block ur acct wit the amt required b4 u can use it for booking. I want to get a scholarship from Nigeria, will that be okay cos on their website it said scholarships from German organisations. And the sponsorship letter, if I should use it in case I don't get the scholarship, will I need it before I can book an appointment or can I book then present it during the interview? |

I want to book an appointment for student applicant visa. Do I need the document proving my financial capability to book the interview or I should just tell them which means I'll use? It's really confusing me. They said I should send my name and address, passport copy, proof of financial resources but I don't know if they mean that I should send the sponsorship document or just to write that I'll use sponsorship letter. |
