Hi everyone, Whiles i'm waiting for blexxonmak to clarify himself, this is what I've found out.In finding your focal length, the shorter your "d",the longer your "F".I'm facing this problem right this moment.I intend fixing that tomorrow.I have a question, where can i find small hallow round(circular) pipes(metallic and very rigid ofcouse)to buy in Ghana? The medium sized iron rods are too heavy and the small sizes bend when their lengths exceed a certain distance. This post need urgent reply because i'll have to buy that tomorrow in order for my project to be at a level of between 80% and 90%.Thanks! |
blexxonmak:@blexxonmark, Do you mean it should fall about 1/2 way between point A and B inside the lnb itself in my earlier illustration or about the same distance before i get to point A in the same illustration(coming from the center of the dish that is)? Thanks. |
@All, A couple of channels from OSN on nilesat is free at the moment.Enjoy! |
ugasat: Ilish:Hi All, I've also found some bugs in the new softwares of the 4910.Precisely the 243p and the 244p software versions. It pertains to the new button that allows you to switch directly to the scanning menu right from the dish setting menu. What happens is when you switch from the dish setting menu to the scanning menu and you return back to the dish setting menu, make a different change and try to save the settings, the receiver will go off and reboot on it's own without saving that particular setting. You can try it several times and it will still come out the same.Nowadays the errors are becoming a bit too much. |
dodos:@Dodos, You are right but i believe you'll be one of the few people who will understand when I'm finally through with what I'm working on at the moment. The question i asked was also as a result of another satmate wanting to know the length of the focal point for his fiber dish.I'm satisfied with the responds so right now I'm going to sit back so that Geometry can continue with the class.Excuse me for jumping the gun.Geometry, the floor is yours. |
@Geometry, Thanks for all your assistance.I'll take note of your caution too. Will do a bit more research and make the best of decisions from all that i learn.Thank you. |
chi4all:@Chi4all, you are forgiven.By the way,i hope you found what you were looking for? @dodos, You stand corrected. You are rather being emotional. When you start using phrases like "i feel" or "it is my feeling" or "i have a feeling",you are relating to the intangible which is an emotion.Still,u made your point and in more ways than not some aspects make alot of sense. @kc, thanks @sathob, you have to find time to come over this week oo.Our pet project looks like it wants to take on the skies.*i'm itching to upload some excepts* |
odilibe:@Odilibe, I like to be believe you are a very tolerant person hence your post but the fact is that, all of us here did English grammar and we understood the question perfectly. He didn't ask whether his dish size could receive those satellite nor did he read earlier posts. He just asked if his receiver could receive those satellites. If he was serious about learning, the first place he would have consulted is the user manual for that receiver. It would have informed him he was using an fta receiver which means he will be able to receive all satellites and watch fta channels depending if the receiver can support the various transmission formats.Even in the menu,i believe all these satellites are listed there with tps already installed on them.So tell me odilibe,is this a person we must ignore? We have to let such people know we won't stand for people who aren't serious. Adex70:@Adex70, I believe princeparis was just being sarcastic. You know where to find me.Add me as a friend over there and send me a pm.I'm bit free today so you will get a quick reply. @Mr Musa, I've sent you a reply.Hope you've seen it. |
Eltonluigi:@Eltonluigi, Good question my brother.Look at that useless picture he has even posted.Waste of space, waste of time, waste of energy.Does he think we are here to joke?Even the user manual of his receiver has the answer to his question*it really pisses me off when i wake up,trying to gain a little more knowledge on fta and i end up seeing this* |
Mr Musa, I'll contact you soon.Thanks! |
geometry:@Geometry, I'll be looking forward to that my brother. Thanks! |
Abdul010:@abdul010, if that's the case then you are already family.*still i don't know you that well so i'll have to check your background so i don't fall victim to any traps of any satellite tv operators.Hope you understand*.Anyway, just send me a pm on rdi and i'll be sure to send you a mail of the little i know when all is said and done. tips of forums-study all your mates and know each of their capabilities.Address questions to them personally on this basis and you'll get answers very quickly. In our part of the world when you generalize a question it will be difficult for you to get an answer even if someone knows it(or you give your email).*I've tried it so many times and it hardly works*.African like to be acknowledge whenever they can. Will talk to you on the other side. |
Abdul010:@Abdul010, Ofcourse it won't work. What you need to know is generally an off-forum topic.Get to know forum members, build strong relationships and talk to them outside the forum and you'll learn more than you can ever imagine. That is the only way you can find what you are searching for. akinis09:@akinis, Whatever you think you have from that site was not what i was talking about to the other satmate. There is a big difference between a cline and a key though they are both literally keys to illegally opening satellite channels. If you are using strong, just load any of the latest patches on that receiver to open 4 channels on that satellite(Badr 5).To open the rest of the other channels you have a very long way to go. |
@Geometry and all dish fabrication experts, After finding the focal point of your dish, should it fall exactly infront of the waveguide of the lnb at point A below, exactly in the middle of the waveguide at B or at the tip of the lnb at C for maximum signal acquisition to be realized? https://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/225480_1886055963740_1611638073_1818368_3534919_n.jpg Regards to all in the pursuit of knowledge. |
https://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/225480_1886055963740_1611638073_1818368_3534919_n.jpg @Newtonn, This is the question you should be asking and this is the question i also want to know. After finding the focal point, should it fall exactly infront of the waveguide of the lnb at point A above, exactly in the middle of the waveguide at B or it should fall at the tip of the lnb at C?*The question goes to everyone especially those experienced in dish building* |
Newtonn:@Newtonn, For that size, wherever you are in the Great Green Country called Naija,Nilesat is all yours. The formula for calculating the focal length of a satellite dish has skipped me a bit but you can google it just to be on the safe side. |
timosat:Brother Timosat, I would have been able to help you if it was Nilesat or Badr 5.As for w3a you need a VIP server or a paid server.I'm very sorry. Please if anyone else can help him. Please do. |
D.lee: spaceman:D. lee, That's a really good thing you did-Reading the previous posts before making your first post.If you were in a class, you would excel alot. You wouldn't be the kind of student that brings the class back.Well done and you are welcomed to the forum. As for the one asking you those questions, don't mind him.It is clear enough and i agree 100% with spaceman. |
aro seyi:O boy! O boy!! O boy!!!What other info again do you want,eh?Gadotor my brother pls help me on this one.As for me i "can't answer". |
@All, Nigezie is back on Astra 2b.Rescan your decoders.Looking forward to ONEmic joining the gang. |
mwarawaa:Hi mwarawaa, It doesn't work. For a biss key to work it has to be attached to the Tp and channel from which it was extracted. In this case, the Tp 12.620(v)/2.894 seems not to be available here. |
@My good friend who asked about the frequency of AMWAJ TV on nilesat some time back, the frequency is 11.390(v)/27.497 a thousand apologies for the delay.I've been a bit busy these days. |
Hi all, It's been a while but by the grace of God all is going well. The project i was working on is almost near completion. The only problem now is that i'm a bit behind schedule so i'm looking for a 2.5m and above dish-base to buy. Please note,it is not the galvanised pole nor the pan itself but the seat on which the pan sits and which is fitted on the galvanised pole is what i'm after.I'm looking for one which is of an old damaged dish.It should be in good condition with little or no rust.It is for a dish i'm molding.Any satmate living in Accra and it's environs should call or text me on 0268972290.It's very urgent. |
Ellahdarrell:Look at that.Just after Prince Paris said he will ask how to input the key, this guy asks the same question.Prince i feel you my brother.Just try to ignore such things when you see them. They are very irritating but try.As for Timosat, well done.I will be reposting your post on another forum as archives.Hope you don't mind.I will reference you as the author.Peace! |
URGENT!!!!!!!!!! Hi All, I'm searching for IC number V58C2256164SCI5 or V58C2256164S to buy. It's a HIGH PERFORMANCE 2.5 VOLT 256 Mbit DDR SDRAM made by MOSEL VITELIK.I need 4 pieces of these.Preferably the one with the number V58C2256164S is most suitable.Any one in Ghana who knows where some are sold should kindly let me know(NB.I've been to zongo lane already) or if you are a technician(In and around Alaba market) and have come across some and can get me all the 4 set,get in touch with me and let's see how we can go about it.Thanks! Contact: mens.eric@yahoo.com Additional info:For those of you that may be wondering what the "hell" this is,in simple terms,it's simply the memory for the srt 4910 hd receiver. |
Adex70:@Adex, Change the diseqc port through which you are receiving your c-band signal. If it is still acting the same way, then your satellite tuner in the decoder is weak and need to be changed(that is,since you've already tried a different c-band lnb and it was still behaving that way). This particular problem of unstable signals usually occurs when you flip through your channels/channel list rapidly and frequently.Try the above and you should be just fine.*the solution/method needs a qualified technician* |
@All, I haven't gotten the mbc channels yet but i can firmly tell you that the channel called AMWAJ is just more than enough when it comes to latest non-stop movies. My next post will be on how to prepare your prime focus Ku lnb for fringe satellite reception. @Esuo.I'll pm you soon @Spacevice.I live very close by but want that info to be off this forum.Give me your email address lets take it from there @Salamander and Sathob.Guten morgen my brothers. We have to meet and have a feast of some heavy Kenkey and fish very soon. @Everybody.Have a great hunting week. |
sathob:@Sathob, Thanks my brother.let's do it next weekend.I even got some channels opened today using CS for JSC sport on nilesat and Canal+ on badr 5 but they are all gone now after i took my cable out to browse.I hope to get some servers tomorrow to try again. It's not yet over my brother, It's not yet over!Have a nice evening. salamander:Thanks salamander, will be looking forward to seeing you too so we can run our experiments. |
spacevice:@Spacevice, I've always been on nairaland(For as long as my first ever post). So even though i have a few posts here on nairaland under my belt,i know who is who and who not to mess with. It's just that whenever i visited,it was only insults that i saw raining in every post. That is what discouraged me from putting anything meaningful here but i can see now that things are changing and people are willing to research and learn and "not ask for everything".As for the project,it's just the beginning of many possibilities yet to come and i pray you with the Almighty God on "our" side,we'll surely live to celebrate the success together. Thanks for the encouragement. |
agyengo:@ Agyengo, All those sats are receivable in Ghana and more.Since it would have been very tedious for you if i had asked you to search for it,i'll post it for you just for your convenience. But you must remember that this post was written about a year and a half ago so there might be just minute changes but then,it won't be that much.Just make a print out from lyngsat about the sat you want to track and with this as a guide. You should be ok. Maybe in the course of the year if things are better for me,i'll make a revised and updated version of this post. Here you are Channels with strong transponders and satellites on which to find them Hi all, This post is to help all who want to track the following satellites with ease. The values here are relative to my position, the receiver being used and the lnb type. This was also inspired by a couple of forum mates namely,esuo2,bamboutou,fta.hunter and the guy who wanted to know for sure if i truly had all the birds i claimed i had. LNB Tweaking for Nilesat and Appreciations. Hi all, After tweaking my lnb yesterday evening,my signal strength shot up from 50% to 57%.I achieved this by pushing the lnb inside towards the dish a bit further and placing it halfway between 3'oclock and 6'oclock (using my previous post and image as a guide). This in turn has increased the number of channels from 111 to 172.I still don't have the MBC package though but have been advised to change the lnb and see what might pop up.One thing i've noticed is that, the signals are very very strong in the mornings and bad in the evenings. It is also the most unstable group of satellites i've come across(Nilesat 101,102,201 and Atlantic bird 4A).The channels can appear and disappear at any time just like that.Still it's a very exciting satellite to be on. My big thanks goes to all who have supported me through all this time. From Cogil,Kungu,Patmos,Gkogolah,Sathob,Salamander,Fres h P,Katiklo,Iron 2011,kalemiresula,Fta.hunter,Ibaku,Bamboutos,the great KOKO and INNESAT91.I couldn't have asked for a much welcoming satellite family. Finally if anyone has any useful info on this bird in terms of keys or tricks for OSN or Aljazeera, please share with me through my inbox.Send the info to mens.eric@yahoo.com (my dummy mail).I will be most grateful. Thanks __________________ 60cm dish:Astra 2b 80cm dish:Eutelsat w7 90cm dish:Badr 5 3.1m p.f. srtD10 mesh dish:Nilesat 1.8m p.f. motorized SSS pan dish(perfectly aligned):ABS 1,Intelsat 7/10c,Intelsat 7/10k,Intelsat 17,Intelsat 906,Intelsat 902,Nss 12,Arabsat 5A,Eutelsat W6,Amos 5i,Eutelsat W2A,Eutelsat W3A,Sirius 4/Astra 4A,Rascom 1,Intelsat 10-01,Atlantic 3/c,Express AM44,Intelsat 901c,Nss 7/k,Nss 5,Nss 7/c,Intelsat 905/c,Intelsat 907/c,Intelsat 907/k,Intelsat 903/c,Telstar 11N,Nss 10/c |
