Good afternoon house, please I really your advice on a very crucial matter. Hubby and I have only the Nikkah marriage certificate, change of name affidavit and newspaper publication, and our proposed court wedding has been slated for late January next year. The issue now is that, there’s a high probability of us getting an ITA in the next draw which is before the court wedding. Should we use married or common law partner in our profile, as the court marriage certificate is not yet available. Please all suggestions will be highly welcome and appreciated.

Hi, check the link below on a post regarding Nikkah, you can reach out to the poster for more enquiries. I know people have used it before but I can't recall their handles. I think Olajide21 was one of them but not sure as it's been long

Also visit the IRCC website and if possible reach out to them for clarification especially with regards to the screenshot attached. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/non-economic-classes/family-class-determining-spouse/legality.html

Wishing you all the best.

Hey guys, can a newly landed PR use his pof to get a nice ride and start uber?

You can, if you meet the requirements:
1) Meet the minimum age to drive in the Province you are in, have at least one year driving experience and also clear a background check
2) Your drivers license has to be Non GDL
3) Your car must be 10 years or less
4) Register your vehicle for commercial use
5) Get a commercial insurance which would cost more
and other requirements as may be needed.

If you are able to shop and deliver groceries, you can look into Instacart which in my opinion is better.

The exam cost me a little over $500 because I added study packs to it for test simulations. If you go with the hard copy book, it is even more expensive. It's cheaper if you do just soft copy but i will advise anyone who wants to do it to add study pack.
CSC is IFC and more. In other words, it is more advanced...equities, derivatives etc.
If you just want to get in and move later, it might not be worth it stressing for the CSC. Most people I've met started with IFC though.

Ok. Thank you.
Please which of the courses did you do? Name please?

I wouldn't say it's a major requirement but it sure is a good way to get in. It is mostly sales here so and the certification give you rights to talk about mutual funds which is a big part of the everyday sales here. There are tons of certifications you can look at as it solely depends on what area of banking you want to go into.
If you're aiming for something in Toronto Head offices, it will be a different ball game. I just did mine to get into the system. As soon as I settle well into the job, I'll start making career change moves. Everybody in my branch except the tellers have at least one sales certification. It's kind of regulated here so you need certifications for financial planning to be a financial planner etc.
For the question about entry, I don't really get what you mean by "...where entry seem much easier". I submitted my application in 2014 via the FSWP stream and I finally got my visa in 2018 . The idea then was that you could land anywhere. Has that now changed?
For the website, it is csi.ca. Take your time to read through the site as there are different career paths for the exams.

Pls how much is the course and which did you do or would you advise one to do btw CSC and IFC

Engrs in the house, Pls asking for a friend. He has a Bsc degree from Uniben also a master's degree from The institute of Petroleum Studies (IPS) Port Harcourt. My question is can he verify the masters using ICES or jejely verify his Bsc.? ( He wants to be sure masters from IPS is recognised) He doesn't really need the added points for masters. He isn't the PA.

Much depends on your choice or what you feel you would enjoy most. Another factor is the time you are willing to put into the career change i.e time spent in school. 1 year, 2 years, 3 years or 4 years.

In terms of job availability, It is easier to get health related jobs especially if you are willing to relocate to small cities and towns.

Depending on what type of healthcare job, pay can vary widely too. I dont know anything about firefighters as a career choice or how to go about getting into the path.

Ok. Thank you.

I was considering going for a Nursing or HCA certificate in either Norquest or Keyano. Which would you advise?

2. 12hrs day, and a 4 days/wk = 48hrs per week. Accepting an extra day of work (i.e 12hrs of overtime) would ensure atleast a total of 60hrs/week.
For those on 8hrs day and a 5days/wk, workers would add atleast 1hr OT before start and 3hrs OT after close making total of 60hrs/week too.
Note: OT in the tech/Engineering are mostly double the current hourly rate.

4. Salary are usually fixed monthly and often based on promotions.

5.
-Some for the passion
-for some, mom and pop told them that's the way to go
-some for the title
-some drank the cool aid
-Some just want to earn a living wage
etc

Every one gets a good work life balance.
Techs often times need mandatory professional development too depending on the type of job you fo or industry you work in.

Just a few examples
If you are in pipelines, your employer would push for Nace 1, 2 and 3
Welding Inspection: Welding inspector level 1, 2 and 3
Ndt: UT, MT, X-ray etc level 1, 2 and 3 or the API's for pipelines/pressure vessels
Power/stationary operators and engineers: 4th class, 3rd, 2nd, 1st.
Electric testing: Neta level 1, 2 and 3.
Civil techs: Concrete/Ashpalt certifications CCIL cat 0, 1, 2

Employers would often give a deadline to attain a certain level of competence or be sacked.

Still on the issue of career change.
What's your advise if one has to choose between a healthcare and a tech/blue collar job.

Also how does one get into the firefighting field?

Good morning All,
Kudos to everyone here. I have being a silent reader/follower and just received ITA on Wednesday. Please I have a few questions with regards to PCC, please what's the position of a Non-resident Nigerian who left Nigeria for about a year now, has PCC from Country of Residence and would be visiting Nigeria for about a month due to vacation.Would the PCC still be valid? Also, I plan getting PCC from Nigeria during this time together with doing medicals and submission of my application while in Nigeria;would this be a problem?

Please your thoughts, suggestions and opinions are highly needed and appreciated.

Thank you

You musn't provide tax, payslips slips shouls suffice, and for vetassess it is very important for your occupation to be closely related with what you studied. You can check the SOL?CSOL list to be sure that what you want to apply for is closely related with what you studied and what you are currently practicing.

Please o...are you saying that those of us whose occupations are not closely related to our course of study do not stand a chance with Vetassess?

@Sylokobi,

Only South Australia sponsors financial investment adviser and you must have 75 points to be nominated as it is on special conditions.

Customer service manager is also on special conditions and only on 489 visa.

If you think you can meet up to 75 points, you can go ahead with the assessment.

If you are married, your husband can be the principal applicant if he has his occupation on the list.

I am not yet married.

Please i want to clarify something with regards to Customer Service Manager/Contact Centre Manager. Since my job is that of a Customer Service Rep and not a Manager, can i still go ahead with the assessment?

Also if i am assessing with Vetasses, do i assess both my Diploma and Degree certificates.

Sorry for the bother.

Thank you

Good Evening House,
Please i would like to know if i stand a chance.
I have a Diploma in Law and a degree in History.
I have three years previous experience as an account officer in bank A and presently with bank B as a Customer Care Rep in the Contact Centre Unit of the bank for more than a year now.

Can i nominate Financial Investment Adviser (ANZSCO Code 222311) or Call/Contact Centre Manager (ANZSCO Code 149211). Both are assessed by almighty VETASSESS.

While an account officer in Bank A, i performed some of the tasks listed for Financial Investment Adviser but do not know if it would suffice for VETASSESS.

And in my present job as a customer care representative those listed are somewhat different and tend to speak more of the role in a managerial manner as listed below:
Developing and reviewing policies, programs and procedures concerning customer relations and goods and services provided
Ensuring operational efficiency within a call centre
Providing direction and feedback to team members and assisting with recruitment
Managing, motivating and developing staff providing customer services
Planning and implementing after-sales services to follow up customer satisfaction, ensure performance of goods purchased, and modify and improve services provided
Liaising with other organisational units, service agents and customers to identify and respond to customer expectations
May work in a call centre
Please can i still go ahead and nominate Call/Contact Centre Manager and list my duties as a Customer Care Rep?

Please help a sister so i don't make a mistake.

Thank you
