Well, good luck to him. Not a fan of Tinubu but he is at least balanced in his military appointments and fair to the Igbos, from appointing an Igbo man as Chief of Navy staff to Chief of Air staff. We all know Buhari wouldn't have given a damn, last last name wailing we for dey wail.

Congratulations to all the appointees.

The few Igbo officers in the NA are really trying in their various theaters, Maj Gen Chinedu Nnebuife, Maj Gen Victor Ezugwu- first Nigerian to produce a Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle— EZUGWU and Brig-Gen Uwa Chidiebere of the 6 Brigade in Taraba etc all come to mind.

Osimhen's best partner is still Lookman
The Chukwueze of yesterday changed my mind about that yesterday, but a physically and psychologically ready Lookman will always give us a different type of quality with Osimhen as well.

The only team I fear in this paly-off is DR Congo
Exactly, we always struggle against those Congolese teams. I'd hope Cameroon beat DRC so we can meet Cameroon at the final, we know how to beat Cameroon these days.

If you knew how the table looked like prior to the point deductions from Mokoena and the Eritrea situation, you would be stupified at the possibility of even smelling a playoff spot.

Heck, take a look at the 2nd place table on Google which doesn't account for the Eritrea point removals. Now take in how we were able to score 4 unreplied goals against a Beninoise team that had all the momentum and a chance to qualify.

This is truly a miracle.
Benin just needed a draw, a win (by any scoreline) or a Nigerian winning scoreline less than 3 goals to still qualify, they had EVERY favorable odd to play for yet got demolished almost so easily, did they even park the bus?

As in ehn, so unprofessional ...I was really disgusted
At this rate I'll take Uzoho over him oh.

A player that doesn't listen to teammates let alone his senior teammates is a waiting disaster

Same way he shoved off Bassey, the Bobo come dey look am like;
"you sure say this our keeper head correct?"
We're paying the price for not scouting for capable goal keepers on time to save our blushes after the Uzoho misadventures, Arthur Okonkwo and Noah Atubolu would have been ideal targets for us but it was certain if they wanted to play for us. Now we are stuck in the conundrum of tolerating Nwabali and his erratic nonsense. Meanwhile Ghana took a chance with their home based GK Benjamin Asare, and he seems to have done really well so far and will likely be a starter for them at the world cup. We need to use the AFCON to scout for GKs anywhere possible, Noah is still eligible as he hasn't played a competitive game for Germany so we can try push for him when we make it past the playoffs.

Does Gabon have good defenders?
Everybody start doing your homework now
I've watched most of their AFCON and world cup qualifiers, they can score goals no doubt, but they are also very defensively suspect...I believe they conceded the most goals in their WCQ group. We are better defensively than them and Benjamin/Bassey will frustrate Auba and Lemina

Onyedika, Lookman and Aina should be back for the playoffs next month, those are added quality with enough experience to boost the team.

Chelle is the MAN, keep this guy and extend his contract, he will cook at the AFCON.

Osimhen, take a fucking bow! stood up like a true warrior for his country when it mattered the most, the stuff real elite players are made of.

Benjamin Frederick is THE NEW GENERATION, what a player! he reminds me of prime Yobo when he was younger, we have us a GEM.

Chukwueze delivered, Moses Simon is frustrating but we can't argue against 2 assists.

Congrats to the team for rising above all the odds to make the play-offs, the battle isn't over yet, but we have shown we have the mentality of a team that wants to go to the world cup, all the best to them in the next and final obstacle.

Give us Cameroon for the playoffs.

Only playoff spots left are down to how the Cameroon and DRC games go, Gabon is home and dry in the playoffs already based on superior GD+... as it stands now, we have to win by any scoreline not less than 2 goals and hope and pray South African draw or lose against Rwanda...our hopes for a playoff odd were 80% dashed today by Burkina Faso

Even if we had won 2-0 against Lesotho and Nwabali didn't display his moments of madness, today's result for Burkina faso would have canceled our result based on goal difference...a 3-0 win would have given us a safer cushion, and we had our chances to win that game at least 4-0.

What will you all do if Burkina Faso plays a draw with Ethiopia?
Ethiopia are not playing football, they are just hanging in there for pride cause Burkina are tearing them apart, they are just not the team to place a bet on if your world cup hopes depend on them, but at least the Ethiopians are fighting hard even when they have nothing left to play for

Our fate as bad as it stands now will get worse or might as well be sealed if Burkina Faso score another goal, we need this to stay 1-0 at FT, GD+ might then save us if we take care of business on Tuesday.

So here is the simple permutation. If we beat benin by more than two goals and SA draws like ogbono soup we qualify
2 goals are enough to see us qualifying if SA fail to beat Rwanda, but a 3 goals cushion is our best outcome due to GD+

Against which teams?? Please tell me what iota of hope he has brought to the team. Nothing has changed jade...

Chelle is worse than Peseiro let's be honest.
Not fair to Chelle, granted Chelle's football isn't pretty on the eyes, but he has managed a messy qualification process for the SE quite well so far, remember he inherited the mess Peseiro and Finidi created yet has put us in a better position to still qualify on Tuesday if the players go for it and just win without drama...our fate now lies in our hands, Chelle has done his best with all he had available.

Someone said Osimhen is playing in the wrong generation lol
No wonder he’s paid blood money every week
That guy holds himself to a very high standard
UCL player
Watching him just makes you realize one needs to quit mediocrity while holding oneself to a very high standard every day
I just wonder what cr7 would be like in the dressing room
Probably worse lol
Players like Gattuso, CR7, Drogba, Oliseh etc would have broken the head of some players in the dressing room for how rubbish they are...we just lack that temperamental leader in this team aside from Osimhen.

I thought 2 goals is enough
The maths you should follow is the FIFA qualification rule, if we win on Tuesday (doesn't matter by what scoreline, but safer to be more than 1 goal) we will qualify.

Start Chukwueze, Akor and Osimhen in that game and a 3 man midfield with Ekong on the bench and we win that game by 3-1.

Dr Congo and Burkinafaso both won their games yesterday. We are toast. It will take a Miracle to qualify. If we had beaten Lesotho 4-0 then hope dey, with this result today. E go hard
Yes and No

No we are not toast YET until Tuesday, if we fail to beat Benin republic preferably by 3 goals for GD+ advantage and South Africa beat Rwanda, then its lights out for us.

Yes we're toast cause the pathway to making the playoffs which was our easier route to qualify based on the results from other groups is now closed

And tbh, it's good we invited this pressure on ourselves...the goal is simple- show that you really want to go to the world cup and write your legacies in gold by beating Benin republic and qualifying like a top team should, no ifs or buts.
