LiteratureProsperity Textbooks Have Replaced Evangelism Manuals In Nigerian Churches by synw(op): 12:16pm On Jan 15, 2020
Prosperity textbooks have replaced evangelism manuals in Nigerian churches –ANCAPS
The Association of Nigerian Christian Authors and Publishers (ANCAPS) has berated Nigerian churches, especially the Pentecostal sect on the replacement of evangelism manuals with prosperity textbooks authored by their Pastors and leaders.

According to ANCAPS, “the aim of evangelism manual is to preach that message of salvation and see people come to Christ. It builds layers of an outward, gospel focus that makes it normal and inevitable for people to come to Christ in your church while Prosperity textbooks put riches first before Christ. “

In a statement made available to newsmen on Tueday in Ibadan, Wole Adedoyin, ANCAPS President said replacement of evangelism manual with prosperity manual is weakening the spiritual structures of the body of Christ that is why crimes, corruptions, delinquencies, dishonesty, rituals, kidnapping and stealing are now rampant in Nigerian churches of today, all because they wanted to be rich.

The Statement further reads “A holistic, biblical approach to evangelism as inscribed in the evangelism manual employs all practices in ways that inform and enhance one another so that we share the gospel and move closer to God through Jesus Christ. Many churches struggle with evangelism. For some, evangelism is an important objective, but the methods of pursuing it are vague or ineffective. For others, the term itself is uncomfortable, bringing to mind manipulative ways of leading people to faith.”
“Replacing evangelism manual with prosperity manual written by the church pastor or the church leader is like nailing Christ to Cross the second time and leading non-believers to Satan. The Salvation of the unbelievers should be first met using the evangelism manual before any other books introduced. “
Wole Adedoyin who is also the National Coordinator of the Christian Democratic Movement of Nigeria (CDMN) also decried the scarcity and low prints of quality and Christo-centric evangelism manuals. Also admonished Christian authors in the country to write more evangelism manual under the control of the Holy Spirit aim at winning souls for Christ and promoting the kingdom of God.
ANCAPS finally urged Nigerian Pastors and church leaders to be well grounded in the basic biblical principles of missions, evangelism, and discipleship so that the church can accomplish its God-given task of bringing lost people to Christ and building them up in Christ.

We don’t want APC card carrying member as Osun REC – Osun APPPS tells Senate President
The Association of Progressive Political Parties (Osun APPPS) has warned the Senate President not to reconsider the nomination and questioning of Mr. Muideen Olalekan as the Resident Electoral Commissioner representing Osun State of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
It will be recalled that the Senate on the 3rd of December, 2019 rejected the nomination of Raheem Muideen Olalekan as the Resident Electoral Commissioner representing Osun state of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the ground that Raheem Muideen Olalekan could not defend the allegations of bias levelled against him by a petitioner.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Chairman, Wole Adedoyin and made available to pressmen in Ilesa.
Also recalled that there was mild drama at the Senate Committee on INEC last month November 5 when the Osun State Commissioner nominee for INEC, Raheem Muideen, admitted that he remained a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). But during the debate on the report, efforts by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, APC Delta Central to save the embattled nominee failed.
But Wole Adedoyin who is the Chairman of the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) in the state said some powerful, high profile APC members in Abuja has been working underground with the Senate President to reconsider and endorse the appointment of Raheem Muideen, a 46 year old academic who openly confessed of being a bona-fide and card carrying member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which negates part of constitutional criteria for INEC commissioner.

WAAIDS ASKS EFCC TO PROBE STATE AGENCIES FOR THE CONTROL OF AIDS ACROSS THE COUNTRY FOR FINANCIAL FRAUDS
The Writers Against AIDS has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe and investigate the financial transactions of state agencies for the control of HIV/AIDS across the country headed majorly by some wives of few states governors.
According to WAAIDS, It is no more news that Nigeria is Africa’s most populous country and is home to the third largest number of persons living with HIV/AIDS.
Poverty, stigma, embezzlement of HIV/AIDS grant funds, discrimination and a poorly coordinated health system constitute major barriers to HIV treatment and prevention efforts in some states.
This was contained in a press release issued and signed by the national coordinator of the group, Mr. Wole Adedoyin in Ibadan on Sunday after a strategic meeting with some stakeholders in the state.
According to WAAIDS, the HIV funds which ought to have been used in taken care of people living with AIDS were either diverted into an unknown account for selfish purpose or used for an unknown activities, whereas hundreds of people living with HIV/AIDS are dying every day. In some states, Chairmanship and membership into the State’s agency for the control of HIV/AIDS is now political. As some politicians think it is an avenue of making their millions not minding hundreds and thousands of lives begging for care, attention and medication.
“It is our opinion that the agency for the control of AIDS should be headed by medical practitioners who are well versed in the field and not the wives of elected state governors who have seen the position as their constitutional rights”
“It should also be noted that every new infections starts with someone who is already infected. New infections occur because infected persons do not take the necessary precautions or because of poorly organized protective services. Patients are also not being sufficiently educated on their responsibility to prevent the spread of HIV and are not being included in protective service. HIV diagnosis is a traumatic experience that significantly changes a person’s life. Many people in Nigeria are still unaware of their status; these and others should be the watchwords of those agencies at the state level but they failed to discharge them .”
“We are therefore calling on EFCC to beam their searchlight and investigate fraudulent activities going on in some of these states agencies. Their accounts should be audited. Valuable lives of people living with HIV/AIDS are wasting every day for political reasons.

This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the National Coordinator of the Movement, Wole Adedoyin after an emergency meeting of the Movement in Ibadan on Friday.
Though, President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the apparent killings and urged Nigerians not to let themselves be divided along religious lines. But CDMN which berated President Muhammadu Buhari for not taken any action in the past on major religion killings in the country called for the perpetrators of violence in the region to be held to account. The Movement also accused the international community of failing to act.
CDMN also accused President Muhammadu Buhari led government of failing to act to help put an end to religion terrorism in the northern part of the country.

He should concentrate on other national issues begging for his attention. Inter religious groups like CAN and their Muslim counterpart should be called for an emergency meeting.” Adedoyin said.

HDP ADVISES GOV. GBOYEGA OYETOLA TO PROBE AND AUDIT THE FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS OF THE 69 OSUN COUNCIL AREAS ACCOUNTS
The Osun State Chapter of the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) has advised Governor Gboyega Oyetola to investigate and audit the financial transactions of the 69 local government areas and the LCDAs of the state from their first day of resumption in office.
Osun HDP said this move should not aimed at removing any council chairman or official, but targeted at improving probity and accountability in the 69 local government councils and the LCDAs of the state.
This was contained in a press statement issued and signed by the Party’s State Chairman, Wole Adedoyin in Ilesa on Tuesday in Ilesa.
According to Osun HDP “Oyetola’s government is empowered to use the provisions of the constitution and the anti-corruption legislation to check cases of corruption and abuse of power across the local government areas and LCDAs of the state. The proposed investigations and prosecution do not offend the constitutional ethics of the state in any way.”
HDP therefore believes that anyone involved in alleged corrupt practices and abuse of power in any affected local government or LCDA area should be promptly, thoroughly and effectively investigated and prosecuted if there is relevant and admissible evidence of corruption, and stolen public funds recovered both to provide public goods and services to ordinary citizens and to serve as deterrent measure to others.
“Osun citizens want to know how their elected council Chairmen spent their allocations” Adedoyin said.
HDP finally hopes that Governor Gboyega Oyetola will exercise his constitutional powers to promote transparency and accountability and stop corruption in the use of federal allocations by the council chairmen for their personal and selfish usages.

PoliticsOsun Standard Of Education Is Dwindling – Osun Appps Tells Gov. Oyetola by synw(op): 12:22pm On Dec 28, 2019
OSUN STANDARD OF EDUCATION IS DWINDLING – OSUN APPPS TELLS GOV. OYETOLA
The Association of Progressive Political Parties in Osun state (Osun APPPS) has expressed dissatisfaction in the falling standard of education in the state due mainly to the poor implementation of educational policies and programmes by the government of Gov. Gboyega Oyetola
.
This was contained in a press statement issued and signed by the Association’s Chairman, Wole Adedoyin on Thursday in Ilesa.
According to Adedoyin, there is a general worry about the poor quality of education currently trending in Osun State secondary and tertiary institutions despite the fact that the government currently charges school fees and other related fees. Some of the reasons adduced for this falling standard include the inadequate provision of facilities by the state government; non- maintenance of available facilities by the government; outdated and largely irrelevant textbooks and teaching materials, declining competence and commitment of teachers; parents' nonchalance to children's schoolwork/activities; lack of interest and seriousness on the part of students which lead to examination malpractice; the cankerworm of the “increase the state revenue” syndrome of the Osun government thereby neglecting their major primary role of provision of quality education; execution of nonstandard and fraudulent programs which weakens the system recently introduced by the state government.

In a research recently carried out by the Association, It was found that Osun standard of education is falling at all levels as a result of inadequate supervision and acquisition of skills due mainly to poor government’s implementation of school curricula and learning facilities.
Most of the newly graduated Osun high school students are no longer able to write or read letters, let alone read and understand newspapers.

Adedoyin, who is also the State Chairman of the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) finally noted that Osun government under the political administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola has not invested heavily in education in the past one year despite the huge amount of money collected from the parents of the students.

2019 CHINUA ACHEBE LITERARY FESTIVAL HOLDS TOMORROW IN AWKA

Literary enthusiasts, writers of all class and intellectuals alike, will this Saturday, 16th November converge again at the Prof. Kenneth Dike Central E-Library, Awka, the Capital City of Anambra State, Nigeria, for the 2019 edition of the Chinua Achebe Literary Festival.
The literary festival is an annual literary event organized by the Society of Young Nigerian Writers, (Anambra State Chapter) in honour of Nigeria's Literary Legend and father of the African Literature — Late Prof. Chinua Achebe who died in March 2013, in commemoration and celebration of his immense contributions and legacies in the literary field of life. The literary event which holds yearly on Achebe's date of birth started in 2016, and has remained consistent for the past four years.
The convener of the event and Coordinator of the Society of Young Nigerian Writers (Anambra State Chapter) Mr. Izunna Okafor told Brittle Paper that the 2019 edition of the festival would be 'awesome' 'fecund' and 'sparky'.
He described the 2019 theme of the event — 'Intellectuals And National Development: The Chinua Achebe Approach' as apt, given the rueful position of Nigeria today on the developmental ladder, and the envisaged roles the intellectuals have in fixing it, using Chinua Achebe as a benchmark.
It would be recalled that Late Achebe, until his death, was a die-hard chauvinistic countryman who, with his wealth of knowledge, contributed immensely in propelling the developmental wheel of his country Nigeria, Africa and the world at large. He was also an intellectual with integrity, as evidenced by his two-time rejection of the country's second highest award for intellectual achievement and contribution to National Development —the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic — in 2004 and 2011 respectively, simply because he perceived things were not going the way they should in the country, as under-development, corruption and impunity were the order of the day.
'This auspicious theme,' Izunna says, 'will be further dissected at the literary festival by an international award-winnig actor and author R.C (Reginald Chiedu) Ofodile who will be the lead paper presenter and Guest Lecturer at the event.'
According to him, the 2019 Chinua Achebe Literary Festival will feature: lectures in memory of Achebe, dramatizing of Achebe’s selected books, Open Mic/Spoken Word, Chinua Achebe Essay Writing Competition (for secondary school students, sponsored by the Anambra Newspapers and Printing Corporation), unveiling and presentation of the Chinua Achebe Poetry/Essay Anthology entitled "Arrows of Words" (which is the association's newest collection of poems and essays published in honour of Achebe), award presentation, and other literary packages slated for the day.
This literary festival which is done in collaboration with the Anambra State Library Board will be declared open by H. E. Chief Dr. Willie Obiano, the Executive Governor of Anambra State, who will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest of Honour.
Other guests and literary enthusiasts expected at the literary festival include: Prof. Chukwuemeka Ike; the state's Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Hon. C-Don Adinuba; Mr. Oseloka Obaze (author and former guber candidate); Mr. James Ezeh (Chief Press Secretary to the Governor); Sir Chuka Nnabuife, (author of 'Mbize: Rage of Red Earth, and MD/CEO, National Light Newspaper); Chief Uche Nworah (Author of The Long Harmattan Season, and MD/CEO, Anambra Broadcasting Service); Rev. Fr. Ositadimma Amakeze (author of The Last Carver); Okeke Chika Jerry (author of The gods Are Hungry); Odili Ujubuoñu (author of Pregnancy of the gods); Uzor Maxim Uzoatu (author of God of Poetry); Isidore Emeka Uzoatu (author of Vision Impossible), among others.
Participation is absolutely FREE and open to all.

Politics35 Political Parties In Osun Set To Boycott Ipac Programme Holding In Osogbo by synw(op): 10:15am On Sep 25, 2019
35 POLITICAL PARTIES IN OSUN SET TO BOYCOTT IPAC PROGRAMME HOLDING TOMORROW IN OSOGBO
Over 35 political parties in Osun state have distanced themselves from partaking in tomorrow scheduled programme aim at covering the past mistakes, shame and lapses of the current IPAC Executive in Osun State. The programme which was billed to take place in Osogbo tomorrow had no contributions of the General congress of IPAC which the Council’s Code of Conduct mandated to be crucial for any activities to be taken place in the Council.
Close to ten (10) months now the current set of IPAC executive in Osun State has not constituted any committee as enshrined in the IPAC Code of Conduct not to talk of summoning the general congress of IPAC for a meeting which the code of Conduct says the General Assembly shall meet, at least quarterly, also quorum for the meetings of the General Assembly, shall be formed by fifty percent of membership of the General Assembly. From our research nothing of such has taken place. If there is any, then the register of such meeting should be shown to the public with their names, signatures and parties that attended such meeting(s).

According to Mr. Wole Adedoyin, who is the current Chairman of the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) and the Association of Progressive Political Parties (Osun APPPS) said some decisive steps has been taken to prohibit Osun IPAC Executive from infringing on the provisions of the Code. For example when the Executive members failed to create a general WhatsApp group after 10 months of their inauguration as IPAC Executive for the general congress, Adedoyin said, his intervention into the matter gave them a run which made them to create the group last week.

On the programme scheduled to take place tomorrow, Mr. Adedoyin said the programme is a selfish ploy by the present Chairman of IPAC to continue his bad leadership in office till 2020. But the fact remains that the general body of IPAC are fully aware of IPAC Chairman’s shortcomings and inadequacies. The invitation of IPAC President, in person of High Chief Peter Ameh is another political ploy to confuse the general congress of IPAC in Osun State that they have the backup and support of IPAC National leadership despite their breached of the Code. Using IPAC President’s presence in the programme to score a cheap political goal will eventually tell on the good image of the Council in the state.

On the concept and the theme of the scheduled programme, Adedoyin opined that IPAC Chairman and his exco members have been working with some people outside the Council who conceived the theme, content of the programme without the knowledge of the general body of IPAC. 2019 elections has come and gone followed by litigations and legal actions between the winners and the losers. 2022, 2023 and other future elections should be tabled to the audience. The House should move forward not backward. Only the mistakes of the 2019 election should be revisited.

Mr. Adedoyin observed that since the emergence of IPAC in the state, Idowu Omidiji’s tenure has been the best and historical. During the last Osun State Governorship election, he made at least three press releases aimed at ensuring peace and harmony during and after the last governorship election in the state. There are proofs and evidences to buttress this point. Despite Chief Olusegun Agbaje’s efforts (Osun INEC REC) in ensuring the 2018 and 2019 general elections was successful, Osun IPAC never commended the Commission not even the political parties who were stakeholders, who ensured peace and harmony reigned during and after the 2019 general elections were also lauded. Osun IPAC was even muted most when Chief Olusegun Agbaje MFR,mni (Osun INEC REC) was harassed and booed after attending a programme earlier last year by some hoodlums who happened to be political jobbers, some of us including my party, HDP made a strong statement condemning the attack and defended the REC.
On a final note, Adedoyin believed Osun IPAC is not a property of some individuals who believed it’s their fundamental rights to impose those who are incapable of making any change or transforming the political space of the state. Such imposition should be shunned and trampled upon during the forthcoming IPAC election in the State.

HDP TO GOV. OYETOLA - YESSO ALONE CANNOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF OUR UNEMPLOYED YOUTHS IN THE STATE
The Osun State Chapter of Hope Democratic Party (HDP) has urged Governor Gboyega Oyetola to priorities the security, welfare and job creation for the teeming unemployed youths in the state.
Mr. Wole Adedoyin, the state Chairman of the Party on Monday in Osogbo advised Governor Gboyega Oyetola to devise another employment system apart from the current YESSO for the unemployed graduates and youths in the state.
HDP also urged him to use his first term in office to work on education, Health, security, job creation, electricity and infrastructural development.
According to Adedoyin, “There is a lot to be done as far as the provision of basic amenities, provision of quality education and health of this state is concerned. The primary responsibility of government as entrenched in the constitution remains welfare and security of lives and properties. No economy thrives in an unsecured atmosphere will lead to political and economic stability”.
Mr. Adedoyin, who is also the Osun State Chairman of the Association of Progressive Political Parties (Osun APPPS) urged the Governor to focus on Agriculture, education and health. The three areas should be given better attention through proper funding while job creation for our teeming unemployed youths in the state should be prioritized.

Osun APPPS urges Osun elected lawmakers to fulfil campaign promises
The Association of Progressive Political Parties in the State of Osun (Osun APPPS) has advised all the elected lawmakers from the state in the House of Assembly, House of Representatives and the House of Senate not to break their campaign promises made to their electorates during and after this year general elections.

The group in a statement signed by Mr. Wole Adedoyin, its State Chairman who is also the Chairman of the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) stated that defaulting on their promises would amount to profanity and betrayal of trust.
“Citizens and government development efforts should work side by side. However, in this situation some projects of the past elected lawmakers are almost non-existing in some communities. We are urging elected lawmakers in either State Assembly or House of Representatives and Senate from the state to rise and discharge their democratic obligation by bringing dividends of democracy to their electorates” Adedoyin said.
Osun APPPS finally urged Osun Citizens to report any elected House of Assembly, Rep or Senate members who fail to embark on community development projects from the Constituency development funds given to them by the Federal government or diverted the funds for personal use to Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) or The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC).

OSUN APPPS LAUDS GOV. OYETOLA ON OSUN WATER DREDGING AND CHANNELIZATION, URGE OSUN RESIDENTS TO DESIST FROM DUMPING REFUSE INTO THE DRAINS
The Association of Progressive Political Parties, the umbrella body of progressive political parties in the State of Osun (Osun APPPS) has lauded the executive governor of the state, His Excellency, Gboyega Oyetola on the recent dredging order to maintain the appropriate width and depth for enabling the safe, unobstructed passage of flood and flowing water via Osun streams, lakes and rivers. The order on sanitation and waste management given by Governor Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola would bring about cleanliness, orderliness and reduction in the flooding of the state.
This was contained in a press statement issued and signed by the State Chairman and Secretary of the Association, Mr. Wole Adedoyin (State Chairman of the Hope Democratic Party-HDP) and Elder Adeloye Ogunmodede (State Chairman of the Action Alliance –AA) in Osogbo on Sunday.
On the need for the governor’s order, Mr. Adedoyin said some part of the state is currently too dirty and now the rainy season is here, all wastes are being washed down into the canals and drains.
Mr. Adedoyin further said that the action of the Governor was necessary to forestall flooding in various communities in the state during this fast imminent rainy season. It is also of note that the immediate effects of poor waste management take its toll on residents in the communities and not the government.
He however called for the support of the Community Development Associations (CDA), Local Government (LG) and LCDA’s Chairmen, to encourage residents to practice the new measures to improve upon the botched sanitation process in the state.
Osun APPPS finally urged Osun residents to desist from dumping refuse into the drains because menace of flooding, stench from indiscriminate waste disposal and possible epidemics will not affect the government but rather residents in the communities.

BAYO ADEBOWALE'S BLACKMAILERS: OUR OWN SIDE OF THE STORY (DEACON NIRAN ADEBOWALE)

A lot has been written on Facebook/Twitter, a couple of weeks ago to disparage the person of Dr. Bayo Adebowale, smearing him with the unsavoury allegation of raping five daughters and aborting pregnancies for each one of them on three consecutive occasions. I am Deacon Niran Adebowale, a junior brother to DR. BAYO ADEBOWALE, writing the world now on behalf of the family, to say that this character assassination move is the handiwork of blackmailers and grand conspirators.
My brother, who mentored me from primary to tertiary education level, is a decent, morally upright man; highly focused and disciplined. He has sacrificed a lot to train all of us , inculcating in us probity and uprightness. I am a living witness to how he struggled to bring up all his children. The children are all graduates of tertiary institutions. He loves them all and protects them from harm; never can move near having carnal knowledge of them. Let me unequivocally say here that the great Adebowale Family will not fold its arms and watch this shameless blackmailers go scot free with this. I hear that this is how the internet dirty vultures scramble to consume the flesh of innocent people, with the assistance of notorious bloggers and online news media.
We hear that on BAYO ADEBOWALE'S matter they are already in disarray: either retracting their wicked postings, or apologizing, or even fleeing to London, New York and what one of them now calls "Amsterdam on my mind", to avoid the long arms of the law: Sahara Reporters; Linda Ikeji Blog, Femi Gorman, Ekundayo Awe, Mercy Makinwa and the rest members of their cohorts.
I can assure them that law and justice are universal. They will be caught wherever they are hibernating. And what is more, Almighty God, the Omnipresent, the Omniscience and the Omnipotent, is waiting to deal heavy blows on them for this unpardonable sin they have committed against my innocent and peace loving brother, DR. BAYO ADEBOWALE.
