Stevecovey: No be lie. Sanusi usually says the truth & gets in trouble for it. He did during the 2008 financial crisis when he sniffed out fraudulent banks, he did when he publicly called out stealing in Jonathan's government. We are expected to the speak truth always and yet we get into trouble if we do. See the irony of life. As for those suggesting that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi wasn't diplomatic in his approach, I ask you this: does Nigeria look like a country where diplomacy works? Diplomacy that hasn't worked for decades. |

MagicBishop: I see many idiots here are decieving themselves that they are ''covered''.
Well the least of your worries is not getting infected but the anarchy that this can unleash in a place like Lagos.
Nigerian govt has to announce and assure the populace of a lunar eclipse before the illiterate hordes start looting and raping thinking it is the end of the world. This truly happened sometime in the 70's I was told in some parts of Lagos and Nigeria.
And if you think those thugs will care about their own health and safety consider that during the Ikeja Cantonment bomb blast incidence, thugs from Oshodi were rushing into the barracks to loot properties as well as looting shops in Oshodi and raping women in the midst of the bombs going off.
Nigeria is filled with mad people and this Corona Virus scare will bring out the worst of the worst. The superstitious idiots here will not help matters by denying the existence of this serious threat to public safety and security! You have raised salient points overall. But, I shall be glad if you can share reliable sources you got your information from. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: US Imposes Sanctions On Iranian Steel And Other Metals by syras: 8:23pm On Jan 11, 2020 |
azimo: USA is a world supper power and with lots of intelligent agencies , if iran are allowed to own a nuclear weapons one day you will wake up and find out that they have destroyed the world. For that safety of the world iran must never be allowed to own the nuclear weapons. Why is US currently the world's most powerful country?! Well, I guess it's because of their nuclear capability. And, US can bully the world and stabilize their economy because of their nuclear capability. So, US nuclear possession has nothing to do with freedom but everything to do with control and bully. If indeed the nuclear possession of US is about freedom, why can't other countries live the way they wanted? We both know that US has the highest number of army bases around the world most of which are centered in the Middle East. And, why's that?! Because they want the oil. The same US have invaded and decimated Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan and Yemen with their military might. US was able to fight these countries because they had no weapons to protect themselves. So, if US can have it, other countries should be allowed to have too. As regards Iran being out of control if they have nuclear weapon, US had in the past. They dropped bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and these countries were no more. How sure are we that such events wouldn't repeat itself? And these are the reasons why several countries such as Iran and North Korea are striving to be nuclear capable - they don't want to bullied, controlled, threatened and destroyed. Again, every country should be allowed to have nuclear weapon or nobody should. |

MarkGud: I got this ; You have been scheduled for an interview at CERTIFICATION EDGE.
Any idea the company they're recruiting for and what's actually involved. So did I. Certification Edge recruits for different companies. Among them are: Julius Berger, MTN, Chevron and Glo. The interview question(s)greatly depends on the position being applied and summoned for. So, you personally can dig up a little more about that. From my little research, reasonable numbers of people have in the past attended the interview but even fewer were shortlisted (i.e. little success story). Although, the company looks legit from every possible angle I considered. You could perhaps Google to personally make an informed decision as to honour the invitation or not. But, as for me, I gotta sleep over it for I will be travelling down to Lagos from my location. This is all I have for now and I hope it helped. |

Romance › Re: 7 Reasons Why You Need To Keep Your Virginity Till Your Marriage by syras: 5:51pm On Jun 25, 2017 |
WORDWORLD: There is always a HIGH DEVASTATNG PRICE a society MUST pay with a LAISSEEZ FAIRE/ FREE-FOR-ALL attitude towards SENSUALITY and all kinds of acts of INDECENCY and IMMORALITY.
"Were history mainly a record of accidental and deliberate experiments performed on mankind, it would be to an understanding of human nature what laboratory experiments are to an understanding of nature. Such a history could be an aid to an understanding of ourselves" (Eric Hoffer, Reflections On The Human condition)
What is so difficult to understand about our yesterday which makes Man learn little or NOTHING from his-story, keeps repeating the same grievious mistakes over and over. Yet prides himself as homosapien, wise. Where is the wisdom? In the 60s, United States of America to be very precise, which has become the 'MECCA' of our contemporary world today since after WORLD WAR2, had a revolution. A revolution tagged as "THE SEXUAL REVOLUTION" by historians, which is discussed today by experts as a twentith century HUMANITY'S VERY, VERY BIG MISTAKE.
The word 'MECCA' as i have use to qualify the U.S.A is grammatical. Describing the U.S.A as THE CENTER, THE WAY, THE MODEL with which almost the rest of the world MOULDS and FORGES their way of life to fit the AMERICAN LIFE STYLE. Saudia Arabia IS NOT AN EXCEPTION in this art of forging and moulding to fit the American life style. Saudi Arabia, the very country, which the word MECCA is borrowed being the name of a city of sacredness and spirituality. Below, is an excerpt that informs us, about the PRICE being paid, the consequences for this HUMANITY'S VERY, VERY BIG MISTAKE.
"As a consequence, THE (contraceptive) PILL and the SEXUAL FREEDOM it provided to women are frequently blamed for what many believe are regressions in quality of life since the sexual revolution. Out of wedlock births, sexually transmitted diseases, teen pregnancy, divorce have all risen considerably. Since the 60s Marriage has declined by a third, divorce has doubled, DURING THE 1960s, THERE WERE ONLY FOUR SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE (STDS) NOW THERE ARE TWENTY-FOUR. Since the sexual revolution, children living in a single-parent families has trippled. (Mary Parke, CLASP Center for Law and Social Policy brief, couples and marriage series, brief # 3 p 1 May 2003.)
It was a revolution enacted by ACTIVIST. A clamour for "SEXUAL FREEDOM", which only masked their real intent. An intent which is to enable a life of waywardness, ADULTERY and FORNICATION, PROMISCUITY and all kinds of SEXUAL PERVERSIONS contrary to traditional values which up held and protected human dignity.
ALL THAT I HAVE WRITTEN IS NOT CONCERNED WITH DICTATES FROM SCRIPTURES. I AM TALKING EMPIRICALLY AS TO THE REALITY ACCORDING TO ERIC HOFFER'S QUOTE ABOVE. Apt analogy - as this scintillating and fascinating description is duly reserved for the wise. You sir, dissected this issue intended in my mind. How I wish the world could see how sexual promiscuity had left the Lord's Green earth in ruins. But then again, we don't get what we wish(ed) for, we do get what we work for. And, I solemnly believe that work starts with educating the younger generation of the evils and dangers of sexual waywardness. |

samexycool: Congrat... when did you wrote it Don't mind these guys trolling you here, Sameexyycool. Okay?! Do note however that, whenever you use 'did' in a sentence, the next verb that follows must be in present tense. For example: - Did you play football yesterday? - Did you see him today? - I was wondering if you did speak to Bisola about the subject. Therefore, the utterance you constructed up there should have been: - When did you write it? Got that, Samexycool? Do have a wonderful day ahead as I wish you success in your university admission. |

BSc, MSc, PHd? Wetin you wan use her degree 'in the other room for', EgunMogaji? Back to the thread, I think cooking should be the responsibility of everyone irrespective of the the gender. One should be able to step into kitchen and prepare a healthy meal to eat be it a man or woman. With this in mind, I can marry anyone who doesn't know how to cook in as much as she's willing to learn. And, I can ultimately go as far as possible to teach her either. |

EgunMogaji: Excellent.
I moved back to California in 2010 and since I've been back I haven't spoken to any policeman. My wife has been here from Nigeria since 2014 and she hasn't had any encounter with police. These developed countries have a system that works for them.
When I advise Nairalanders to stay in Nigeria and only travel out legitimately on legit visas they'll start calling their great grandfather an enemy of progress. They don't know that I'm only trying to save them from unnecessary disrespect from law enforcement.
I have no malice towards law breakers but they shouldn't expect me to show them sympathy. Wonderful! There's no short-cut to success. Don't mind those people who are name calling you as an enemy of progress. You should just do the best to help which you already are doing. All these people have no understanding of what works because nothing really works in Nigeria. Aside, until Nigerians know that there are consequences for actions taken, we will keep seeing news like these on front-pages of papers and forums like Nairaland. If someone gets himself or herself in illegal activities, he or she should better be ready for the consequence which likely is gonna be death penalty in Asian nations And, if on the other hand, someone engages in reasonable activities, he or she better be ready for the consequence either which could range from promotion to be becoming a company leader depending on the circumstance. Blaming people for our actions are signs of irresponsibilities. And, until Nigerians know that, stories like these are likely to skyrocket. In the meantime, I will keep helping my dear people in any way I can. Lastly, enjoy man!!! |

EgunMogaji: He who lives by the sword dies by the sword.
I'm sure that many Nigerians who went there for legit reasons like schooling, kept their noses clean will not have any issues.
Their country, their laws, their own ways of dealing with crimes. If you don't like it then move to any of the other over 200 countries in the world. You nailed the point! I am currently in Malaysia studying and I can assure you that there's no problem whatsoever. In here, there are laws, guidelines and rules. You follow them and keep yourself out of illicit activities, you got nothing to worry. I have never once be asked for my passport neither have I been challenged because I always keep myself in vicinities that doesn't warrant any suspicion -- as I'm law-abiding. I never indulged in any activity that could implicate me and I couldn't have made a better decision. Countries in Asia are cool to reside only if rules are followed. The golden rule is this: just because Nigeria is lawless doesn't mean other countries are or should be. |
