Cococandy said the bitter truth,at a pt in this motherhood,a woman gotta be selfish.

Some let go of food, some their underwears/clothing are faded, some their bad hairs are now hidden underneath old wigs, their shoes has seen better days.

Eat the meat or give the children. If he wants more meat, bring more money.

True.
What mothers go through for their families only God will bless us.
Thanks

Ignore that fellow biko. His or her utterances doesn't define you. You made the best choice by giving the children the meat especially when your husband has been the only one eating the meat. If he wants more money, let him buy the meat. That balderdash that some folks are going on and on about doesn't matter. You own your kids and you know what is best for them. They are still growing, your husband stopped growing so they need more protein than him.
Thanks dear.

Only the man gets the meat everyday while his wife and children go without.
Problem started when she gave the children the meat 1 day out of the 7 days of the week.
Their father was the only one who ate meat 6 days out of 7.
It's not too much to allow the children taste meat too please.
I hope the OP is supplementing their diets with other things sha

I do it too. I have to constantly remind myself to think of myself too. It’s not necessarily a bad thing but you can’t pour from an empty cup. So, put yourself and care for yourself first sometimes so that you have adequate reserves to replenish the others who you care for. wink

Honestly, this is on point

Most mothers do not care about themselves

I am a culprit and I need better cane from people like you to remind me ALWAYS

Cos it actually hurts sometimes, we just keep our cool and humble like our mother taught us lipsrsealed

Sacrifices mothers endure, most fathers can not.

But seriously we need to take care of ourselves to be able to care for our family.
Am also learning this gradually too wink

Obviously you enjoy creating threads to mock your husband and make him look stupid. I am very sure that you decided to deny him the meat simply because of his financial challenges. What a terrible wife...

I can see comprehension is your problem.

I create thread to know what am doing wrong and learn.

'Deny him cos of fin challenges' for only Sunday night? Meanwhile he ate the meat alone on Sunday morning ooo and has always been eating it even this night ooo.

In fact I won't reply you again.

You are full of insults, grow up!

Go pour your anger elsewhere and stay off my thread let me reason with sensible people please.

A man whose family eat half kilo of meat in a week is not a poor man by Nigeria's standard. Poverty rate in Nigeria is rising, many families are looking for means to feed and survive, meat/fish is not even their issues. While we are all encouraged to continue to work hard and smart, praying to God to crown our efforts, we must always remember to appreciate the little that comes into the family. As long as a man works/earns, he deserves to be appreciated and treated specially being the King and Leader of the family that he is. We pray for improvement of his finances (and everyone of us) but he must never be disrespected.

I even noticed that sysengr, the OP, is fond of bringing her family matters to the public. Her cravings for validation by strangers would see her appreciate clowns that insult her husband just to make her feel good. No sensible man deserves a woman that can't keep family matters within the four walls of her house.

Oh am fond of that? Ok. Noted. Thank you.
This is faceless forum. Advice I have gotten here has helped and still useful to me.

Please learn how to value people and don't insult them.

What a silly and shallow mindset! Why won't you think it is easy to make money in Nigeria for you to say he should make more money to buy more meat when you aren't the primary provider in a family? No wonder Yahoo boys are using your destiny to hustle.

A man goes out to hustle, he takes care of children's education, he cares for shelter, he provides for feeding amongst other sacrifices, yet you want to deny him of his privileges simply because there was only a piece of meat left. Will the children be malnourished if they ate without meat? Will they be stricken with diseases if they were given minute portions or no meat at all? I pity men that marry your kind that comfortably dishonor them and display ingratitude towards their sacrifices. Rubbish
With all due respect, you are taking this too far.
I can't explain everything here in public but he is not the type of person that knows how to sacrifice. He doesn't stress himself to make money.
I work from home.... he overreacted cos I gave the meat to children that night. Before then and now he is the only one that comfortably eats it

And a responsible husband would make sure he gives his wife enough money to cook for his family so that he's not dragging a piece of meat with his children like one agbaya. We're talking about a piece of meat and I'll assume it's nothing big, hence he should be mature enough to allow his wife share it amongst the kids and even herself, while he eats none for the night. It's only for one night - he won't die. I can easily give away meat, fish and all the things I like to eat for someone else/other people to eat and have done so before, but I understand generosity and selflessness can be foreign to others.

My thoughts exactly.

Still didn't make any sense.

As head of the house, the man must always be accorded preference when it comes to certain privileges in the home especially when he is the primary provider in the home. The appropriate thing for a decent and wise wife to do when there is only a piece of meat is simply to split the meat into much smaller units while giving the LION share to the man. It is part of his rights and privileges as the king, father and leader of their society (family). A man cannot be subjected to "turn by turn" with his subordinates in the home, he can only as a matter of sacrifice cede his privileges to them.

You people should desist from introducing your sadistic feminism to destroy people's home.

Please no advice will destroy home cos wisdom will be applied.
Honestly cococandy is also correct.

But seriously the meat is already to small to be shared among him and the children.
He should learn to sacrifice too

As a loyal wife, you should offer it to your husband. He is the figure head and leader. As a father, he would share it with his daughters. His meat belongs to you so don't mind cococandy because even if you don't cook soup, or when you cook fish, you can always have meat. grin

Let's take the King of the jungle as a case study, the lionesses in the pride make the kill but before anyone eats, he helps himself to it and they all respect him for it, hence the term 'lion's share'.

He shares in very few occasions.

But the children needs it more, can't he see it as a sacrifice for the meantime till there is enough to go around undecided

What about you? Are you not deserving of it?
Sometimes you put yourself first too.
I know the thought process that goes into such decisions but sometimes you need to put yourself first too.
Rotate it. Once in while consider the kids first, or him first or yourself first. But not always yourself last.

And this applies to other things beyond the last piece of meat (obviously).

Wow! My dear I deserve it too and i didn't even think of it this way.
Thanks so much for this.

I prepare stew and soup that usually take us a week using half kilo of meat evenly shared.

My husband can not eat without meat oooo shocked . Only one meat per serving which goes to my husband.

Sunday dinner, I refused to give him but shared for the children. Big problem started ooo.

Please I need to know, is the meat always meant for him?

I want to conclude with this post 'cos no time to be going back and forth on NL.

Step 6: I prayed the word of God. I remember my father telling me, while growing up that I must make the Bible my friend in order to fulfil my destiny. Hence I changed strategy such that whenever I study the word, the Holy Spirit gave me insight to prayer points to apply personally and pray from that scripture, which I always prayed immediately like a wounded lion 'cos I was desperate for a change. For instance, once I read the experience of the Israelites where they were stranded whilst being faced with the red sea, God commanded Moses on what to do and to MOVE FORWARD; My prayer point became: The Lord has commanded me to move forward, therefore, I am moving forward in life, no more stagnation.. Hebrews 4:12 has the reason why the word of God always works in any situation.

Step 7: Sacrificial giving towards the work of God. I have too many instances to even describe any. I read an article that any money which is not enough to meet my needs is a SEED that should be sown; while any money that is sufficient to meet my needs is a BREAD that I can eat and use for myself. This became my guiding principle and so, I sowed a lot of seeds as sacrificial giving. 2Cor 9:10. I didn't eat my seed, and also didn't give my bread. As expected, when seeds are sown, there is harvest at the appropriate time. No harvest without sowing of seeds 'cos God is not a magician. He is a rewarder.

Step 8: Honoring God in the way I lived my life. It is God that giveth the power to get wealth (not mere riches); if you want him to honor you with wealth, Honor him first. (1Sam 2:30). Think of personal ways you can honor God in your own life, and start doing those things. He will reciprocate. Also be sensitive to any specific thing He requires you to do, and do it. I remember honoring God with something I had reserved to use for myself; It was a sacrifice and my prayer was: "Father, because I have honored you with this, special honor, reserved for special people, let it begin to locate me. It indeed located me because the job I got is reserved for special people and should have taken me not less than 20 years of experience in my career. He gave me what I was not qualified to get, without knowing anybody or having any connection.

Step 9: Spend time praying in the Spirit. The wisdom and power to get kingdom wealth comes through the Holy Spirit. Zech 4:6

Step 10: I started thanking God for what He was about to do in my life; I had unwavering faith that He will change my story 'cos all my focus was on how to please him. I forgot about my needs, and I know He is faithful to fulfil the promises in the scripture for me. This became my reason for the midnight praises. I had deep joy and was expectant of what He would do, even though I wasn't experiencing changes physically, I never stopped thanking Him for what I believed He was capable of doing in my life, especially after he gave me the scripture: 1Cor 10:13.

Step 11: Take Action 'cos faith without works is dead.
I applied for a job in Jan 2018, 3 weeks later, I received a regret mail that I was not selected for test; one month later, I received another mail apologizing for the previous error and inviting me for test. One month later, invitation for interview; on my way to the interview, the Holy Spirit started telling me the questions that will be asked, to which I started preparing answers for. Hence I was able to answer the questions effortlessly, as if I had the experience, for a job I was not qualified for. God gave me the power to get wealth- I was the only one selected out of over 1 thousand applicants, without any connection whatsoever. The position was created for the first time in the history of that organization, after 58 years in existence. The position was created 'cos God wanted to set me up for greatness. This is the kind of kingdom wealth I'm encouraging you to seek after, not the inferior one that man made books will deliver to you.

In conclusion, I sought God, (not any pastor) with all my heart, and I found him as He promised in His word.

God is no respecter of persons; what worked for me will work for you if you've given your life to Christ.

I hope to read your testimony soon

Gracias!

Good evening dear.
Happy new year!

God has been faithful.
Things are gradually turning around.
Thank you so much

lost my mother about 5 years ago. 3 years after her death, her clothes, shoes were shared among the girls, aunties.

I dreamt on 4 or 5 occasions that she was alive or came back to life, then felt bad that she doesn't have enough or good clothes to wear and would tell her that I would give her back her clothes since she is alive now.

Please what does this mean.
