Like som1 who commented said earlier that he must have had issues in the past to behave/act in that manner. You see relationships is way more than giving and receiving...obviously there are some area you appreciate about him and enjoy than he's not buying gift. Most importantly just discuss the matter with him and listen to his response mostly its not always what you think. The only area that got me was when he withdraw and gave you back is own share.
