Ace comedian,PORKUPYNE OSAGIE,emerges as one of the winners for Ali Baba Spontaneity Show..watch the snippet video.

The much awaited show which is from the stables of the king of comedy, Ali Baba,was organized to get most prolific and spontaneous comedians in Nigeria in particular and Africa at large.

   Over 60 comedians were auditioned,where 11 of them were selected to slug it out. According to Ali Baba, 3 comedians were needed as winners. The comedians were made to pick up tags which had a particular topic written on them from a box,and they create a joke on the topic they have picked right there on the stage. Can you beat that!.Telling a joke without thinking for a moment?No wonder Ay had to confess “These youngmen are good,even we,the older comedians who have been around for a while,would find it difficult to do this”.
    These comedians all showed class and professionalism as they cracked everybody’s ribs in the venue.5 comedians were evicted in the 1st round while the 2nd round produced the 3 winners-PORKUPYNE,phronesis and adviser.These are the first set.Three other sets would be picked before the end of the year,then all sets would be performing at the biggest music and comedy concert in Africa,ALI BABA CONCERT,where the overrall winner would be given a contract with Ali Baba,a car with other attached mouth-watering benefits.
   The event was held at the MUSON centre,Lagos. Judges for the show were: Ali Baba, Opa Williams,executive producer of Nite of a Thousand Laugh,Helen Paul ,Ay,Mc Abbey,Lolo1  and Yaw of wazobia fm.Other
Celebrities present were Korede Bello of Mavins records who used the medium to celebrate his birthday party with fans,Bash, Mrs Ali Baba amongst others.                                                         
   Congratulations to this young,creative,resilient,prolific and versatile comedian,PORKUPYNE osagie,who was 1st runner in PEAK TALENT SHOW 2010,a show Yemi Alade emerged winner in its 1st edition in 2009.He is a graduate of Microbiology from the prestigious Ambrose Alli University.

Media aide to President Jonathan, Doyin Okupe says he never said anyone should call him a bastard if the APC won the elections and also said it took the humanness of president Jonathan to stop CIA’s prediction that Nigeria will break up after the 2015 elections. What he posted on Facebook below:


Firstly I never said if APC survives “call me a bastard” what I said was that ” I will change my name” that is the truth. So the prerogative of changing my name is mine. Bastard is not an alternative. But u can continue to say that if it gives u the kick. I really and truly don’t care.

Secondly if I make a prediction it is my right to do so. A prediction is essentially what it is… A forecast or projected statement about the future. It does not have to come to pass.

The Almighty CIA predicted Nigeria will break up after 2015 elections. It took the Godliness and intrinsic humaneness of one man to stop that prediction.

Whatever it is you guys have won an election that was keenly contested yet you are not satisfied. 12m Nigerians voted for Jonathan while 15m for Buhari. This is nothing to be ashamed of.

We are politicians and in our business we are at liberty to use whatever lawful means we have to try and discourage or put our opponents down. This is why when the game is over we down tools and joke with each other again.

As the 2015 general election approached tension rose when the so called Christian  Association  of Nigeria (CAN) endorsed President GoodLuck Jonathan. According to them, this was a spiritual move as they where being lead by the spirit, thereby causing confusion within the Christians  as many Christians followers disagreed with the CAN decision. Most said the house of God should not endorse any candidate as everyone where children of God inrespective of your political views.

The reality was this association had collected bribe from the present administration with the hopes that an incumbent president can never be defeated in Nigeria. Unknown to them that God and the creator of the universe the king of the day of judgment  had his own plan for Nigeria.

Controversies trailed the house of God as money were been shared among men of God to preach againts the opposition. Some even went on to prophecy doom if Goodluck Jonathan should loose the election, fake prophecies from the pit of hell where circulated among the Christians claiming that God has revealed that Goodluck will lead Nigeria, and no one should vote Buhari , as Buhari’s victory will lead to the end of Christianity in Nigeria.
Election has finally come and gone, the opposition candidate General Muhammadu Buhari has been declared president elect of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria and up till this moment non of the prophet of doom has released a statement.

Inconclution, here is my question to the pastors.
1. Which of the God spoke to you?
2. Can one man Islamise a nation under a democratic rule?
3. Why are you people misleading the children of God?
4. You accuse boko-haram for killing Christians and whereas you mislead Christians daily for your selfish interest, which do you think is more wicked?

I need answers to all of these questions, and I demand the so called ” CAN”  to tender an apology to Nigerians, else the wrath of God is coming . I see a revolution in the house of God. Pastors be warned.

The recent visit of First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan to Enugu has left a big scar on Nollywood. This is because the police in Enugu are currently looking for ways to settle the bitter feud that engulfed the artistes’ community in the state over how an alleged First Lady’s largesse would be shared among top actors who attended her rally.

This feud has seemingly put one group known as Nollywood Apostles against other stakeholders in Enugu State led by Patience Ozo­kwor popularly known as Mama G, making it very difficult for the center to hold.

As at last Thursday, some of Nollywood’s big wigs involved were still angry and had refused to show up at the Police Area Com­mand, Abakpa Nike, Enugu where the case was domiciled. The Area Commander had arranged for them to settle the matter amicably.

Checks reveal that Nollywood Apostles comprising some of the best faces in the movie industry including Steve Ajebo Eboh, Charles Awurum, Emeka Enyiocha, Bene­dict Johnson, Chinwe Owoh, and Ngozi Ezeonu among others had been featuring at several PDP campaign rallies including the one that brought Dame Jonathan to Enugu.

According to a source, trouble started after the departure of the First Lady when facilitators of the rally, Patience Ozokwor and Chinyere Wilfred were on stage giving the vote of thanks. An aide to Dame Jona­than had allegedly dropped a parcel contain­ing N3 million into the hands of one of the actors, which he quickly cornered with the con­nivance of his fellow ‘Apos­tles’. But the cookies crumbled when the aide called Mama G aside and intimated her of the monetary gift and to whom it was handed.

“The real drama started when the actor who collected the parcel was about to zoom out of the venue in his car. Mama G re-enacted her screen roles for real. In her view, the money was meant for all the stakehold­ers who graced the rally and not only for the Nollywood Apostles. Mama G stood in the way of the car, yelling and ask­ing to be crushed just as she sent someone to call the police. She didn’t mind being called witch, ashawo and all sorts of unprint­able names. She blocked the car until the police came and took all the parties to the station,” a source says.

However, Steve Eboh has denied ever being involved in such a show of shame. He told Entertain­er: “I never had anything to do with any money or anything like that. Don’t mind them, my brother. As I speak with you now, I am on my way to see Father Ede in Elele, Rivers State.”

For Charles Awurum, who later returned this reporter’s call after several phone calls made to him, it was denial all the way. Hear him: “I don’t know about any issues concerning Dame Jonathan’s money. I am in Port Harcourt now, please.”

On her part, Patience Ozokwor confirmed the story but she wouldn’t want to elaborate further, until after the elections. “The police have invited everyone to the station for settlement,” she volunteered.

EXERCISE 1

The data in this exercise are average heavy metal concentrations in freshwater fish from a survey of agricultural and urban catchments in the UK.

Catchments were randomly chosen, fish were collected from each catchment, and the average heavy metal concentration in the fish was measured (in µg/g).

There is one value for each catchment, with a total of 42 agricultural catchments and 30 urban catchments in the study.

The investigators want to know:

Is there a higher heavy metal concentration in fish from the urban catchments, compared to those from the agricultural catchments?

EXERCISE 2

From 1975 to 2008 investigators collected peak discharge data for 352 storm events from two catchments in the same relative location (one forested, one comprising mainly grassland).

Both catchments have similar elevation and lie on western facing slopes.

Discharge (sometimes called flow) is measured in units of volume per time: in this data set, discharge is recorded in "cubic metres per second", or m3/s.

The forested catchment in this study has an area of about 45 square kilometres (km2) while the grassland catchment has an area of 21 km2.

To eliminate the effects of area on discharge, the data has been adjusted or "normalized" to give what is referred to as "Unit Discharge", with measurement units in "cubic metres per second per square kilometre" (m3/s/km2).

Unit discharge tells us how much flow comes off a standard sized piece of land in the catchment, on average.

The investigators want to know:

(a) Is there a difference in the average peak discharge between the two different catchment types?

(b) Is there any evidence of a correlation between the discharges from the two catchments, and if so, is it significant and what is its magnitude?

(c) Is there any evidence that there has been a change in average peak discharges pre- and post-2000 in forested and/or grassland catchments?


Produce a report which provides the following:

Your answer for each question should be a short paragraph containing the following:

The Null and Alternative Hypotheses you are using;
What method/test do you believe is the most appropriate to analyze these data? Explain your choice and provide any evidence to back-up your explanation (for example if you stipulate a parametric test of any sort, then you must provide evidence that the data you are testing are normally distributed);
An appropriate concluding answer to the questions set.

The key thing to think about is the use of the most APPROPRIATE test for each exercise. Often this will be based on your interpretation of the nature of the data, and hence, there may be more than one way to answer the questions. BUT you must justify what you do. In addition, you are allowed to present results from only one test:

FOR EXAMPLE – DO NOT CARRY OUT BOTH A T-TEST AND A MANN-WHITNEY TEST FOR DIFFERENCES; CHOOSE ONE OR THE OTHER;

DO NOT CARRY OUT BOTH A 1-TAILED AND A 2-TAILED TEST – CHOOSE WHICHEVER IS APPROPRIATE.
