Life before Big Brother

Before Big Brother, I was into entertainment. Big Brother Africa was just a platform for me to do what I wanted to do. Before now, I wanted to be an actress, I wanted to be a reverend sister, but things did not just work out the way I planned it.


Being a controversial housemate

Going to the house, I didn’t have any plan or strategy. I just went in there. While in the house, I used to be blunt every time, it used to be me living my normal life. The controversial side, I don’t know because I used to be a very sweet person.


On how she was never up for eviction

I didn’t do anything. I know that people picked my name but I wasn’t bothered because I also got to pick one or two people. I knew when Natasha or anybody else picked me for eviction but I understood it was just a game. However, I was generally liked in the house because I’m a people’s person.


On her relationship with Angelo

Me and Angelo were so business minded people, we think alike, we do a lot of things together. We have projects we are working on together so, it was much like we went to BBA as individuals but we didn’t come there to mark time. And now, we have a platform we have to use. Now, he is in his country but when there is something to do, we will go together. It is not that we won’t have our time but it’s more of the business because we all came for something in our lives and since we have gotten the opportunity, we should use it right.


Her future plans

After years of refusing to fix his crooked teeth, saying his fans loved his trademark grin, 2-time FIFA World Player of the Year winner (2004/ 2005) Ronaldinho has changed his mind and finally gotten it fixed. The Brazilian football superstar paid $58,000 to have his teeth realigned, and gums altered.


Rohaldinho had the procedure at an orthodontic clinic in Brazil last month but the photos and video of the surgery were only released to the public two days ago.

1. They’ll intentionally delay flights

If a flight is delayed, the crew often gets paid overtime. But this only kicks in after a certain amount of delay, so sometimes the crew (after the doors have closed and they are in fact on the clock) will delay take off intentionally.



2. Nice clothes can get you to first class

You actually can be upgraded for free to business or first class once the cabin doors have
been closed. But here’s a secret: the crew isn’t going to put a slob in stained sweatpants up there, so dressing nice could be your ticket to first class service at economy prices.


3. They throw out the extra wine

The plane isn’t allowed to have opened, unfinished bottles of wine when they land, so they pour out all extra wine. If you mention you know this, it could be hard for your attendant to deny you a couple extra free glasses.


4. They’re the law

They may look unassuming in their pencil skirts and cardigans, but it’s against the law to disobey crew members’ commands. Simply refusing to put your seat up when it’s time could mean a meeting with police when the plane lands.


5. They delay dinner on purpose

If you’re asleep, your flight attendant is supposed to leave you alone and that means less work. For this reason, the crew will often delay dinner as long as possible on night flights, so that half the plane is asleep and they don’t have to serve that half.


6. You can have first class’s leftovers

After everyone in first class has been served their meal, a flight attendant could technically give you one of those sought-after leftover meals. It’s worth asking.

A federal judge has ruled that workplace use of the derogatory term ‘nigger’ is illegal, even if uttered by black people.
Brandi Johnson, 38, was awarded $250,000 in compensatory damages in a lawsuit brought against STRIVE agency founder Rob Carmona (pictured above) for calling her the
N-word during a taped “four-minute nigger tirade”. Johnson said Carmona was angered over her inappropriate workplace attire and unprofessional behavior.
STRIVE prepares young black people with the tools necessary to enter the workforce. STRIVE’s website notes that the agency has helped nearly 50,000 people find jobs.

Johnson, who taped the March 2012 remarks after her complaints about his verbal abuse were disregarded, said she fled to the restroom and cried for 45 minutes.
“I was offended. I was hurt. I felt degraded. I felt disrespected. I was embarrassed,” Johnson testified.


In closing arguments, Johnson’s attorney Marjorie M. Sharpe said Carmona’s use of the word was intended to offend “and any evidence that defendants put forth to the contrary is simply ridiculous.”
“When you use the word nigger to an African-American, no matter how many alternative definitions that you may try to substitute with the word nigger, that is no different than calling a Hispanic by the worst possible word you can call a Hispanic, calling a homosexual male the worst possible word that you can call a homosexual male,” Sharpe told jurors.
Defense lawyer’s for 61-year-old Carmona said the black man of Puerto Rican descent had a much different upbringing than Johnson. “And Mr. Carmona is himself black, as you yourselves can see,” the defense attorney said.
During his testimony, Carmona said his use of the N-word was uttered out of love for another. He said he might put his arm around a friend and say: “This is my nigger for 30 years.”
“That means my boy, I love him, or whatever,” he said. When asked if he intended love when he called Johnson a nigga, Carmona replied, “Yes, I did.”
“Well, if calling a person a nigger and subjecting them to a hostile work environment is part of STRIVE’s tough love, then STRIVE needs to be reminded that this type of behavior is illegal and cannot be tolerated,” Sharpe said

In an interview with Miss Info at his Hennessy-sponsored birthday bash, Nas also alludes to his long-standing maturity and says he’s now at “a more relaxed place.”
Nas’ widely lauded classic debut, Illmatic, is now an achievement a half a lifetime in the rear view as the Queensbridge rapper turns
40 years old today (September 14). Illmatic, which quickly characterized the best aspects of New York City Hip Hop for many fans and critics alike, was released in April of 1994 when Nas was only 20 years old. Nearly two decades later, the rapper, who first made his recording debut on Main Source’s “Live At The Barbeque” in 1991, took some time to reflect on his career and growth at a Hennessy-sponsored birthday party.

Speaking with Hot 97 radio personality Miss Info, Nas both shrugged off and praised the milestone. “I just take it all in stride,” he said. “It really feels like—man, I always grew up around older people. I always talked to older people. So, some of my friends turned 40 a couple of years ago, so they mess with me like I don’t know what it’s like. Now, it’s one of the best feelings I ever had. I’m just blessed. It’s a miracle. I’m so blessed.”
When asked whether or not his age has affected his perspective as an artist and lyricist, Nas first alluded to his maturity as a young rapper. “No I wouldn’t say [I’m] ‘more thoughtful,’” he said. “I think I was thoughtful back then when I was younger. The speed changes, when it comes to trying to get on and then once you’re on you have to adjust your life with it.”
He continued by explaining that occupying new spaces and adopting new identities is something that has led to some change. “When you adjust your life it means you got new things in your life happening,” he said. “You move, you become a businessman, a father. That matters. That weighs in.”
Nas recently embarked on a new business relationship with the popular-within-Hip Hop brandy maker Hennessy. In a previous interview with Miss Info, the emcee spoke at length about the venture and his visiting the Cognac region of France where Hennessy is produced. Earlier this year, Nas also invested assets in the Brooklyn-based Mass Appeal Magazine. In years past, he has acted as an official spokesperson for the sneaker and apparel company Fila and has also more recently been a public partner of the annual and ever growing Rock The Bells festival.


While Nas’ first child was born just months after his debut, he has recently shared a more intimate portrayal of fatherhood with songs like 2012’s “Daughters,” a track that served as the third single for his eleventh album, Life Is Good. That song, which received two Grammy nominations, offered an honest look at his daughter Destiny Jones and his own positioning as a father.
When asked if his taste in culture has changed and developed with his age, Nas responded “a lot.” Still, he also referenced wanting to have nice things and dress older as a child. “But I was always this dude trying to be up in some fly silk and stuff like that,” he said. “I got pictures of myself at like 12 years old with cool silk shirts and all of that, it was just a natural thing.”

With regard to his skill as an emcee, Nas distinguished his older self as “more relaxed” but no less skillful. “As far as intensity of rhyme,” he said, “when you’re young and on fire, there’s nothing like that feeling. So, where I’m at now is just a more relaxed place, but you know, I think it’s still in me when I need to get crazy. I know it’s still here.”

It has now been more than a year since the release of Life Is Good, an album that marked the end of his contract with Def Jam Recordings, where he was signed in 2006. On the Def Jam imprint alone, Nas has released albums 2006′s Hip Hop Is Dead, Untitled and a collaborative album with Damian Marley in 2010. Prior to his signing with Def Jam, Nas released material on Columbia Records.
Earlier this year Nas announced that he was working on his twelfth studio album. When asked about the title in this recent interview, the rapper alluded to a release with little lead up. “I was ready at one point to announce the title,” he said, “but too much was happening and I couldn’t…my bad about that. I’m not saying nothing. It’s just gonna drop.”

A student in Nigeria is claiming he can prove gay marriage is wrong through science – and his scientific “breakthrough” is backed by his university.
Chibuihem Amalaha, who has won awards in his country for reporting on energy science and featured on various national television stations, says he used a magnet experiment to prove homosexuality is “improper”.
Amalaha says his “groundbreaking” experiments show the north and
south poles of two magnets are attracted to each other while same poles repel each other.
His other high-school standard experiments include showing that negative ions are attracted to positive ones in the process of electrolysis. “That is what electrolysis is showing us, that gay marriage is wrong in the area of chemistry,” he states.
Despite massive evidence that homos*xuality is all too common in nature, Amalaha further insists that biology also indicates that same-s*x attraction is unnatural.
“We have seen that the female of a fowl is called hen and the male of a fowl is called a cock. We have never seen where a cock is having s*x with a cock and we have never seen where a hen is having s*x with another,” the learned man states.
Amalaha claims that he’s the first person in the world to scientifically show that same-s*x marriage is wrong, adding “In general, same s*x marriage is evil. It should be stopped by those practicing it”.


He concludes this “means that man cannot attract another man because they are the same, and a woman should not attract a woman because they are the same. That is how I used physics to prove gay marriage wrong”.
South African gay lifestyle website Mambaonline.com slammed the interview, saying it was “absurd”.
“It’s debatable as to whether the embarrassing article is more damming of the standard of education at the University of Lagos or of the standard of journalism at This Day,” criticises writer Luiz DeBarros. “The uncritical and uninformed article is likely to add to the ignorance and prejudice surrounding homos*xuality in Nigeria.”
Nigeria’s laws on homosexual acts are notoriously harsh; current legislation punishes homos*xual acts with up to 14 years in jail, or, in some northern regions of the country, death by stoning.

A Reno woman by the name Marianne Theresa Johnson-Reddick, born January 4, 1935, died last month, amazingly, to the relief and comfort of her children whom she spent a lifetime (in their words) "torturing in every way possible."

Those children, now grown, marked her passing by submitting the most chilling obituary you will ever read to her local newspaper, the Reno Gazette-Journal.
Here's the obituary's full text, culled from Gawker.

Marianne Theresa Johnson-Reddick born Jan 4, 1935 and died alone on Aug. 30, 2013. She is survived by her 6 of 8 children whom she spent her lifetime torturing in every way possible.

While she neglected and abused her small children, she refused to allow anyone else to care or show compassion towards them. When they became adults she stalked and tortured anyone they dared to love. Everyone she met, adult or child was tortured by her cruelty and exposure to violence, criminal activity, vulgarity, and hatred of the gentle or kind human spirit.

On behalf of her children whom she so abrasively exposed to her evil and violent life, we celebrate her passing from this earth and hope she lives in the after-life reliving each gesture of violence, cruelty, and shame that she delivered on her children.

Her surviving children will now live the rest of their lives with the peace of knowing their nightmare finally has some form of closure.
Most of us have found peace in helping those who have been exposed to child abuse and hope this message of her final passing can revive our message that abusing children is unforgiveable, shameless, and should not be tolerated in a "humane society".

It has been reported that four people were killed when Thunder struck at Mechanic Village in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State on Friday.
The incident occurred at Bukan-Sidi around 7:05 p.m. when the four men were about
leaving their workshop following a downpour, an eyewitness explained.
Realizing it was about to rain, the victims decided to lock up their workshop and go home, but before they could leave the workshop thunder struck.
Sympathisers and passers-by were seen in groups, discussing the incident.
The bodies of the victims have been reportedly deposited at the Dahaltu Araf Specialist Hospital in Lafia.
When contacted on telephone, the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer in the Police Command in the State, ASP Cornelious Ocholi, confirmed the story.

A Utah dad fed up with his daughter’s short shorts decided to do something that would make her realize they might not be as cute as she thinks.
Scott Mackintosh, a husband and father of seven, recently headed out with his family for some bonding time, he describes on his wife’s blog, Becky Mack’s Blog of Mild Chaos. The plan was to go to dinner and play miniature golf. Before leaving, he heard his wife asking his teenage daughter to put on some longer shorts. When the girl responded “no,” Mackintosh decided to “make a ‘small’ statement on how her short-shorts maybe aren’t as ‘cute’ as she thinks!”
So, he grabbed a pair of jeans, cut them into a tiny pair of shorts above the pocket and threw on a T-shirt reading “Best. Dad. Ever.” The family got stares at the restaurant and stares at the mini-golf course, but his daughter still didn’t seem to mind. Finally, when they ended the night with milkshakes, she decided to stay in the car instead of going through any more embarrassment.
There was no “Dad I get it” or “Dad you’re the best…. thanks for that awesome lesson.” ☺ I don’t think my object lesson of “modest is hottest” made the statement I had intended. But no matter if social media gets the story mixed up and twisted, my daughter will always know that her dad loves her and cares about her enough to make a fool out of himself.
His daughter posted the photo of her dad to her Tumblr, writing, “My mom told me to change my ‘slutty’ shorts before we went to dinner. I said no. So my dad cut his jeans to fit in. We went to dinner and then mini golf like this.” The post has since gotten over 130,000 notes. The photo also made it’s way to the social sharing site, Reddit.
After the story got picked up by various news outlets, Mackintosh decided to clarify a few things about his purpose.


“I simply did this in hopes that my daughter would know of my great love for her and that she knows of her great worth,” he said in a statement to Desert News. “Now that it has gone viral, I hope that young women everywhere understand their great worth. I will look like an idiot any day if that point gets across.”
Mackintosh told Salt Lake City’s KSL that he has not seen his daughter’ short shorts since then.
“She’s dressed a little bit better since then,” he said. “Yeah, she has.”
Mackintosh’s story comes on the heels of a national debate about whether adults should be telling kids what to wear following a “slut shaming” viral blog post written by a Texas mother. While some parents shake their fingers at short shorts, otherparents are fine with letting their children wear whatever clothing they desire.
As for the practice of public shaming, which involves potentially embarrassing one’s child in a public manner as a means of discipline, some view it negatively.
“It’s not just that humiliating people, of any age, is a nasty and disrespectful way of treating them,” Alfie Kohn, author of Unconditional Parenting: Moving from Rewards and Punishments to Love and Reason, previously said. “It’s that humiliation, like other forms of punishment, is counterproductive. ‘Doing to’ strategies — as opposed to those that might be described as ‘working with’ — can never achieve any result beyond temporary compliance, and it does so at a disturbing cost.”

The Rivers State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF, Chibuike Amaechi, has scheduled a meeting of the forum for next week Tuesday to discuss crucial matters affecting
it and the country.

PREMIUM TIMES learnt that invitation to the meeting has also been extended to Jonah Jang and the 16 governors of his faction.
A source closed to the Mr. Amaechi, who asked not to be named because he was not authorised to speak on the matter, said letters and text messages have been sent to all the 36 state governors urging them to attend.

The meeting will be the second since the forum split into two following disagreement over the May 24 election during which Mr. Amaechi was re-elected chairman after he beat his Plateau State counterpart, Jonah Jang, by 19 votes to 16.
According to the invitation to next week’s meeting obtained by PREMIUM TIMES, the forum which meets at the Rivers State Governors Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, will discuss the disagreement that trailed its May 24 election, its strategic plan for 2013 – 2015, oil theft in the country, polio eradication initiative and others.

Also, Mr Amaechi, as chairman, the draft agenda for the meeting says, will give a brief opening remarks covering fresh and subsisting litigations, update on Federation Account Allocation committee, FAAC, Excess Crude Account, ECA, and Sovereign Wealth Fund, SWF, update on State Peer Review Mechanism, SPRIM, investment conferences in the US and Russia and other issues.

It was learnt that Mr Amaechi extended the invitation to all the 16 governors in the faction of the Forum led by Mr Jang.
The governors in the Jang faction are Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta), Ibrahim Shema (Katsina), Isa Yuguda (Bauchi), Idris Wada (kogi) Theodore Orji (Abia), Sullivan Chime (Enugu), Liyel Imoke (Cross River), Godswill Akapbio (Akwa Ibom), Martin Elechi (Ebonyi), Peter Obi (Anambra), Gabriel Suswam (Benue), Ibrahim Dankwambo (Gombe), Garba Umar (Taraba), Saidu Dakingari (Kebbi), Ramalan Yero (Kaduna), and Olusegun Mimiko, who is the deputy chairman of the faction.

Those in the Amaechi faction are Musa Kwamkwaso (Kano), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Shettima Mustapha (Borno), Ibrahim Gaidam (Yobe), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), and Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara), who is the chairman of the faction.

Others are Babatunde Fashola (Lagos), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Rochas Okorocha (Imo), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti) and Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa).
Until last August 31 when he joined other members of the PDP to form the “New” PDP, the Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed was attending the meetings called by the Jang faction.

The Amaechi faction had planned to hold its first meeting two months ago but postponed it following their invitation to a dinner organised by President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa.

Members of the faction moved from the Rivers State Governors Lodge venue of the meeting to the dinner. At the dinner, Mr Amaechi was prevented from moving close to the president to exchange greetings.
On its part, the Jang faction has met twice since the crisis broke out
