I must congratulate the governoR and whoever suggested this noble initiative to him. Though I'm tempted to ask if the state govt/other relevant agencies involved in this project have the permission of the copyright owners of the downloaded textbooks. I still commend the governor for approving this initiative because I'm sure other governors have come across something similar but refused to implement it, the next job is to make sure the children read the main parts which falls to their teachers instead of patrolling facebook and other social networking sites. |
Come on, we all know this poster s#it is a joke but hey I like the man, he's got balls & charisma. |
jerseyboy: Good is relative. The 80s of Shehu Shagari, Rear Admiral(GAY) Babangida. Ever wondered these great 80s saw 5 coups Buhari, Babangida, Vasta, Orkar. I lived lived the kind of priviledged life you can only dream of in those 80s but exposed enough to know that Nigeria has been misgoverned from the start. Fela sang his most critical songs of the Nigerian condition in this your 80s. You are just another Nigerian that has become a victim of acceptance of very LOW STANDARDS.very impressive the aspect about your legendary "priviledged" life and the idea that you are better than me is quite relative. I don't come on nairaland looking to take part in a d/ck size competition and I also don't remember begging you or anyone else for handouts. At the same time I acknowledge this country is going through a very difficult period but there are also people making it big time legitimately too and they don't have multiple heads. You have your own views but I'll never subscribe to any allusion that Nigeria was never good or can never be good. |
Iphy Grace: i laugh in capital letters, you that was there in the 80's did u ever hear ur parents sing about how wonderful nigeria was or were dey complaining the same way u r complaining now and telling their friends how good the 60's was?silly rabbit, do you think I'm like you nairaland gangstas that blame the govt for all their woes ? For your information, I'm not bothered who or what party wins any election in this country, it just pathetic when you little runts come out crying that Nigeria was "never" good. Get a life and make something of yourself |
jerseyboy: 'Mark my words Nigeria will be better again' Mr Mark when was Nigeria ever really good? Maybe to you thieving, clueless citizen of Belize.olodo, its obvious you're still a small boy that's why you're asking when Nigeria was ever good, I'm sure if you were brought up by your parents, they would have told you how good this country was as recently as the 80's. |
At least this is better than that area boy journalism osun defender did with Alamieyeseigha's photoshopped poster. I would prefer a David Mark presidency to GEJ's any day, his charisma alone is enough to get people in line with any agends he might have for Nigeria. |
Its quite astonishing the amount of people patrolling nairaland |
Someone as educated and refined as FFK is using gutter language and you guys are clapping for him ? Such a pity. |
Orikinla: [size=28pt]It is all political bravado.are you trying to tell me that as old as you are, you're not aware that ministerial positions are political appointments ? SMH at your wack education. |
luvola: how does this sacking reduce unemployment, inflation rate and raise standard of living of nigerian ? Misplace priority ... Next please ..msheewyou have acute malaria |
its obvious the "wammako" debacle people are crying of here is a mistake rom either the journalist or the jtf commandant. Can we just move on from here ? |
Gabsoka: u hav now become his 'oga at the top' is that a correction or a mockery, oga?none of the above o, jst dat I havnt heard of "Victor Oliseh" in Nigerian football before. |
ebamma: He deserves it to me i rate him a better football analyst than victor oliseh and amokachivictor oliseh ke ? Is he from Togo |
ITbomb: Why should he be the ' First to comment ' about his appointment to FIFA. Kinda blowing his trumpet alone.bad belle person olofofo |
Much as I congratulate the JTF for their valiant effort so far in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria, I still see it as a worrying signal when a nations army is deployed to do the work of the police but sad to say our police force is not well trained or even well equiped for this role. Our army I dare say is over stretched as it is what with conflicts & peace keeping missions in Darfur, Mali etc. Modern armies are gradually pulling away from brute shows of strength and moving towards technology supported guided combat with the use of drones and other such instruments. While our intelligence services are still in denial, the countries of the 7 setraco workers kidnapped and killed in Bauchi have confirmed that their citizens have really been killed, this just goes to show the efficacy of sattelite imagery and intelligence gathering. I believe our secret service has already done its work and furnished the authorities with the list of BH sponsors and sympathizers. BH training camps especially where the construction workers have already been located or mapped out, this I say because of the speed with which the British confirmed the killings, it behoves on our govt to seek the assistance of our western allies to use drones and their sattelite assistance to flush out these terrorists wherever they are camped at the same time arresting their high profile sponsors. This will limit the casualty levels on the part of our soldiers and the collateral damage on the part of innocent civilians. This will also end the carnage faster than it is already going. I have some suspicions, very valid at that but I'll keep them close to my chest for the time being. Let's just put it in mind that from 2014 2nd quarter, Nigeria will be very hectic FOR politicians. God bless our soldiers. |

abdulkadir: @ Trac i know d 500 isnt easy to maintain so d c43 wouldnt be easy as well. I didnt mean they are easy to maintain.I use edmunds.com for majority of my car reviews and concentrate mainly on the reviews made by consumers because they are the ones who use the cars for an extended period but I needed inputs from Nigerian users that's why I earlier asked on this thread for anyone who had an idea of the c43's availability in Nigeria and its ease of maintenance. I'm a sucker for powerful cars and that is why I don't rate my pilot highly at all since its too sluggish for my liking its good someone as enlightened as trac is online here because I could have gone ahead to ship the car in if not available in Nigeria but as it stands, I'll get a variant easier to maintain within c200 & 220 then work on enhancements. That's the good thing about benzos, they're enhancement friendly. |
Black Peni5: This is one of Nigeria's biggest problems...We always want to be given special treatment even when we are doing our Jobs.are you a learner ? |
kingoflag: Sure, because all wat they wrote wasn't already public info.to the generality of which public ? Can you honestly claim to have known the eight ladies before the public revelation by Osun defender ? You can't use the shenanigans of one hungry lawyer to punish eight girls whom he might never have even met and now there's that sick possibility that some perverts will use this opportunity to start sending unsolicited friend requests, there's also the possibility of some people abusing the girls for being friends with a "fraud" depending on which divide of the fence you're in. I tell you once again that bringing the names of these girls into the picture is irresponsible journalism and has serious legal implications in a sane country. You can't find this type of area boy journalism in The Nation newspapers or Punch newspapers for example, its only room and parlor N50 paper publishing houses that will allow this sort of journalistic rascality and sensationalism. Even from the choice of unnecessary words used in the article, it is easy that the journalists were just trying to occupy the space allocated to them by their editor and they don't have any journalistic training whatsoever but just found themselves working in a media house. My question is why were the names of his 8 friends made public ? They were not supposed to be brought into the mess of a charge and bail lawyer. |
BY GABRIEL ENOGHOLASE BENIN—A middle-age woman alleged to have been serially raped by four men while in police custody in Abraka, Delta State, has petitioned the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 5, Benin, accusing the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, and his men of negligence and failure to protect her. In the petition by counsel to the woman, Mr. Ejomasuvwe Efe, alleged that following a fight between her and her neighbour, police from Abraka Police Station came to arrest her following a complaint from one Mama Afoke who she had altercation with. She disclosed that efforts made by her husband to effect her bail was rebuffed by the DPO and DCO, who apart from intimidating and abusing her husband pushed him out of the police station. She said: “Shortly after Mr. Isaiah left the Abraka Police Station, the Police IPO instructed the Police man at the counter to take his wife to the police cell and delivered her into a cell where there were already two men. “As soon as the Police locked the gate to the cell, two young boys came into the cell where the woman and the other two mature men were kept, and immediately they started touching her indecently despite her protests that she was a married woman and mother of five children. “The boys asked her to keep quiet and immediately grabbed her by her neck and gagged her with their hands while the others held her two hands and threw her violently on the floor and started to rape her. “In the process, she started shouting but the policemen refused to come to her aid until she went into a coma. She only came around the following morning”. She added that when she became conscious, she noticed that her husband was inside the cell opposite where she was held, adding that when asked him what he was doing there, her husband replied that when he came that morning to effect her bail, the police pushed him into the cell for ever asking for her bail. Mrs. Isaiah informed the AIG that when her husband confronted the DPO and DCO about his wife’s allegedly raped and kept in the same cell with men, the DCO ordered that he should be kept behind the counter. While saying that she was later taken to the Abraka Government hospital where a doctor who treated her confirmed that she was raped, alleged that the IPO begged her not to tell people about the doctor’s verdict. “After our client was discharged from the hospital, one Mr. Kobina Enamuotor who is the father of one of the rapist, Akpevwe and one Mr. Okotie whose son was also involved in the rape, together with the woman IPO and two other police men went to the family of our client begging for settlement and they offered to pay damages of N120,000 to the family. “Meanwhile, the DPO of Abraka Police Station seeing the seriousness of the offence and the negligence of himself and his men, refused to take any meaningful action and wanting to cover it up, before well wishers started protesting and sending text messages to the Commissioner of Police which led to the transfer of the case to Asaba”, the petitioner said. She alleged that in Asaba the IPO who was detailed to handle the case started to intimidate her husband, threatening him that if they did not hands off the case, some thing more dangerous will happen to them since the Assistant Commissioner of Police in Asaba was interested in the case and was ready to deal ruthlessly with them. “Our clients are in a serious trauma and cry for justice with firm instruction to demand and we hereby demand that the AIG should use hid good offices and detail well spirited policemen from his office in Benin to carry out discrete investigation into this heinous crime at the Abraka police Station, Mama Afoke and the rapists involved brought to book.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/03/woman-petitions-ig-alleges-she-was-raped-in-police-custody/ |
GEJ has submitted the names of Capt Fola Akinkuotu to the senate for approval to replace the sacked NCAA boss Mr Harold Demuren. |
This is very pathetic journalism, so he has only 8 female friends on facebook but must their names be brought into the picture ? That's an infringement on their privacy and it drags them unnecessarily into a controversy that doesn't concern them. Journalists should learn to do their jobs properly to avoid lawsuits against their media outlets. |
GEJ nominates Capt Akinkuotu as new NCAA Director General, waiting for senate aproval. |
take dat: Na logo alone we go see? No names and pictures of the movers of the party during its unveiling or we should assume the party is being controlled by ghosts? Where is the motto of the party on the banner? Yeye dey smell!pls ask my oga at the top before I say one thing then he will say another thing |
