Atleast Russia have taken their stance on Ukraine not joining EU off the table... All the separatists they've been sponsoring in the Dunbas and Luhansk Region including annexing Crimea was to make sure Ukraine doesn't qualify to join NATO. Ukraine was recognized as a NATO partner in 2020, NOT member. Many keyboard analysts do not know Russia was also a NATO partner up until they were suspended for annexing Crimea in 2014.

Do you know that for the us intelligence to know what Putin was planning before he even did it, I bet you they have a plan to contain him if he makes too dirty. Ukraine may just a scapegoat used by the west to weaken russian before they get into a conflict. Everyone knows russia has more nukes than anyone but yet Europe and Nato is not afraid of it. I am certain they also have plan to contain his nukes.
