So where do u want Iheanacho to play. Or better still Suggest ur preferred front line.

As for the Yekini-Iheanacho talk.
IMO it is still too early to make that comparison. There are several uncertainties in football. Let Iheanacho hit the 20 goal mark first. Then we assess the possibility.
I respect your view, let him hit 20 goal mark first. I'm his fan any way...

Benue CP faults gov Ortom on exit order

Gov Samuel Ortom

COMMISSIONER of Police Benue State, Mr Bashir Makama has faulted the decision of Governor Samuel Ortom to evacuate Fulani herdsmen from troubled Buruku local government area of the State.

Governor Ortom had stated that Fulani herdsmen be evacuated from the state following the incessant attacks on Benue communities.

The police boss in an interview with newsmen yesterday in Makurdi at the Police Officers’ Mess kicked against the decision of the Governor, maintaining strongly that nobody has the right to ostracize anyone from any part of the country.

He added that the constitution of the country permits anyone to reside in any part of the nation, averring that this shouldhave been done through persuasion.

“The constitution of Nigeria allows everyone to reside in any part of the country, if order is pronounced it is an infringement on the rights of the herdsmen”.

“The herdsmen would have been advised to leave. And if they see that the people are not receptive to them, they would have quietly left rather than push them out”, he frowned.

Makama assured that Police will do everything to comply with the directive as well as secure the lives of the people evenas he advised them not to be apprehensive by fleeing from homes.

State commissioner Urban and housing who supervises ministry of information and Orientation, Mr John Onoja has said that the order slammed on herders to exit the state was meant for ‘armed herdsmen’.

The commissioner stated this while briefing newsmen at the end of the weeklystate executive council meeting held yesterday.

Onoja explained that the evacuation of the armed herders cut across the whole state and not the troubled Buruku communities.

According to him, ‘I want to put the record straight that the exit order announced by the governor was meant for armed herdsmen, please, let us get it right’.

“The order of exit is across the whole state because it has become a menace in the state.

But this is just the solution. The police who are meant to protect us can not do it, why will he use the constitution now to condemn the governor as if it is constitutional to the Fulanis to kill Tiv people?

The house of representative member
representing Gwer/Gwer west says the
responsibility of safeguarding lives and
property is solely that of the federal
government. He expressed anxiety over the
lukewarm attitude exhibited by the federal
government to ameliorate the attacks by
fullani which has heightened over years.

In the Middle belt region, we are losing
14.7Billion Dollars yearly because of this
attacks. The need to set up a middle belt
region reconstruction commission is pertinent.
When a Benue man kills one Fulani, he is
apprehended because he has a residence and
means of identity but when Fulani herdsmen
kill a whole generation, they go freely because
the security men have not come up with a
reliable data to ascertain their identity which
means that no one knows their regrouping
base. This is where the security men have to
step up..... Gbillah said.

In Nigeria today, if a citizen loses his life, it
becomes a normal thing unlike the old days.
My people are not treated fairly as many are
being killed without recourse, property
destroyed and many rendered homeless.
Gbillah added.

On the possible solutions, Gbillah highlighted
two panacea. The first being complete
nationwide abolishment of open grazing for
ranching. The second being the composition of special security team made up of the army to mount the volatile areas for quick response to the attacks which will lead to prosecution of
the Fulani attackers.

Mark Gbillah did not mince words to state
that the military is winning the war against
Boko Haram while another most dreaded
Haram is looming in the Middle Belt. He said
what is happening in Benue is more than the
Boko Haram in the North East.

This is a good move. If our National Assembly
members are this fearless in their campaigns
to end this attacks, it will be achieved in no
time.

Thumbs up Engr Gbillah.

Kelechi Iheanacho at a career crossroads at Manchester City

Only 20 years of age, Kelechi Iheanacho needs to find a place where he can be assured of regular game time.

Kelechi Iheanacho has returned to the crossroads of his Manchester City career. Just before the beginning of the season, the Nigeria international turned down the chance to participate at the Olympic Games in order to focus on impressing new manager Pep Guardiola and secure his precarious place in the City first team.

That decision proved to be a good one, as it not only allowed him to meet the boss ahead of the new season, but also to receive the reassurances he needed.

A rosy beginning led to three goals in seven appearances, including the winner in the Manchester derby last September when he started in the absence of Sergio Aguero. There were to be no further goals for another nine games, until his final strike in a 3-0 win over Hull City on Boxing Day.

Since then, Iheanacho has barely been on the pitch, and the arrival of Gabriel Jesus meant the Nigerian's opportunities were even more severely restricted. The Brazilian joined during the January transfer window, and his explosive start of three goals in four games meant Iheanacho was not even listed on the match day 18 for those games!

A broken metatarsal appears to have ruled the South American out for the rest of the season, which means the young Super Eagle gets another chance to stake his claim for first team security, if only as a plan B.

But with regular, first team football being the reason he shunned Nigeria's participation at the Olympic Games, and being a key component of Gernot Rohr's Super Eagles offense, occasional action will not cut it for Iheanacho. Neither will being a backup plan to two strikers.

Nigeria resume World Cup qualifying in August with two potentially bruising games against recently crowned African champions Cameroon. To remain an integral and effective part of that offensive line, Iheanacho needs games. And if Pep Guardiola's Manchester City will not offer him that, then he needs to look elsewhere during the summer.

A close associate of the player told ESPNFC that the 20-year-old is weighing his options

"Obviously, he wants to play football regularly. He will probably get games between now and the end of the season, but when the summer window opens, we will have to look at what is available out there from a football point of view."

A move away from the Etihad in the summer, according to the associate, is a very strong possibility for the young Nigerian

"Enquiries have come in already and Manchester City know this," Iheanacho's associate said. "The boy wants to play and if he gets the opportunity elsewhere, whether on loan or permanently, as long as he gets a chance to play every week, we will give it very serious consideration."

Kelechi Iheanacho has not played much of late and with the arrival of Gabriel Jesus his days at Man City may be numbered.

It is in the both the player's interest and that of Nigeria for him to do so, with his City career seemingly heading towards stagnation with Jesus and Aguero ahead in the striker hierarchy. But even if he moves, Iheanacho must understand that irrespective of where he ends up, his game time will be in direct proportion to his productivity.

For all of the hype surrounding Gabriel, the Brazilian arrived and hit it off instantly when he was thrown in at the deep end.

That is what Iheanacho needs to do. Scoring the occasional goal will not do. An instinctive player and scorer, the youngster needs to work on his movement, his decision-making, his confidence, but more importantly, his first touch.

Much of those skills come from regular game time, others from training field work. However it comes, Nigeria needs Kelechi to be on top of his game by August.

On the return flight back from the opening day victory against Zambia, Iheanacho with Arsenal's Alex Iwobi sitting beside him, said he was determined to make it to, and play at the World Cup in Russia.

It's a lofty and commendable dream, but it requires hard graft and ruthless, career saving decisions. And for him, now is the time to make the first of such calls.

Iheanacho did not get sidelined but Guardiola changed the attacking set up to one upfront. Unlike Pellegrini who had two strikers. With that, it is difficult for Iheanacho to secure games. Gabriel Jesus' playing pattern made it even more difficult for Iheanacho. Let us see how the second half of the season goes before a final verdict.
okay, I'll be glad if he is offerd time in the present patern.

If Iheanacho can embrace his lessons at City, develop his work ethic and lifestyle, he can make that departure to a good league for playing time. I hope one season under Guardiola is enough for Iheanacho to venture on another football journey. How the season plays out will determine if Nacho will stay or leave.
Nacho is a very good player who can suit in any league provided he is given time to play. I wonder why he is been sidelined when he was giving results I mean goals and assists.

Cameroun would always be Cameroun. They have played in 6 finals and won 5. That is why they are called the Indomitable Lions. They have a title winning mentality.

Going into the WC Qualifiers, Cameroun have done themselves both good and harm.
Good in the sense that they have used this AFCON to build a team with a winning mentality together with all the cohesion achieved in different departments of the team.
And harm in the sense that the Super Eagles will no longer in anyway under-rate them in the double header clash. Thank God we got to see them at this AFCON, they would have probably taken us by surprise.

We have the advantage with a 4point lead. What we need do is to win that game in Uyo and open up a 7points lead. So that at the worst case scenario of losing in Yaoundé/Doula we will still have that 4pts lead with 2 matches to go. A win in our next game against Zambia and they can't catch us again.

It is also important for our players to remain in shape till that time.
I know we have the team to beat this Cameroonian side.

I only now have more respect for them but I dnt fear them.
Actually, the way the indomitable lions played yesterday, I see them as a threat to the super eagles. We seriously need cohesion in our time to over power these lions.
