From the look of things, Aguero is leaving Manchester City. If Guardiola does not buy a high profile striker to fit that role, do you think Iheanacho should still leave Manchester City? Consider he still has a lot to learn.

A move to Barcelona "B" team is better than a move to some of these obscure leagues. At Barça, Bassey can make good use of the 'World Class's training facilities. The exposure to quality coaching personnel and players is an experience that is so important to a young player like him.

Who knows? He may one day break into the XI of Barça or better still get a good offer from any of the good Clubs in Europe, with hard work and dedication.

To this I say good move.
This is a very good move...

Confirmed – Iheanacho Moves To Manchester City Champions League B List

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-22.jpg

As exclusively reported by Owngoalnigeria.com on the 24th of December, Manchester City Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho has been moved to the B list of their updated UEFA Champions League list.

Read below the original story done by us before the list was updated today.

Despite suggestions in some quarters that Manchester City Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho could be replaced by incoming Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus, Owngoalnigeria.com can reveal that Iheanacho’s spot won’t be taken by the Brazilian.

Some other reports has insinuated that the rejuvenated Yaya Toure who is set to be included in City’s Champions League squad, after mending fences with coach Pep Guardiola could take Iheanacho spot as the Nigerian has dropped down the pecking order.

Both suggestions are way off the mark as Owngoalnigeria.com online editor can reveal that regardless of who City sign this January Iheanacho will still remain in their Champions League squad per UEFA rules.

Iheanacho will from the first of January qualify as a home grown player for Man City, as he has been eligible to play for the club for an uninterrupted period of two years.

His type are usually on the B list of the Champions League squad of teams, and clubs can register an unlimited number of players on the list during the season.

Thanks for the complement.

As par seeing the current Eagles like the '94 Eagles, I would say, No we are not there yet. This team still has a long way to go to attain that level of proficiency of the '94 Squad. We even analysed the current Eagles with the France '98 Squad and we agreed that only 1 or 2 players from the current squad would arguably make the starting 11 of the France '98 team. IMO they are not even as good as the 2004-2006 set that was blessed with players like Martins, Ayegbeni, Utaka, Okocha, Kanu, Osaze, Obodo, Oruma, Babayaro, Taiwo, Yobo, Odiah, Olofijana, Ayila, Nwanneri and the likes.

The current squad is talented and have up and coming youngsters. But they are not there yet.
Yeah, but this guys must surely make us proud. You already know they're young and just coming up. Infact, they have a long way to go. We need to keep them together as a team and the real eagles will be obtained!

Exclusive – Russian-Nigerian Defender Idowu Cleared To Play For Nigeria After Meeting With Rohr

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-110.jpg

24 year old Russian-Nigerian defender Brian Idowu has assured coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr that he will be available to play for Nigeria if called up.

Amkar Perm defender Idowu gave the assurances to Rohr during a meeting according to report exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com editorial staff.

A decision on his inclusion in the Super Eagles squad for their next friendly tie against Senegal will be made in the coming days.

Idowu was born in Russia to a Nigerian father but his mother is half Russian according to reports.

He reportedly spent time in Owerri, South- East Nigeria, arriving Nigeria at the age of 3 before leaving back for Russia at the age of 6.

Since then he has spent the rest of his life in St. Petersburg, where he started his career as a footballer for FC Smena St. Petersburg before moving to Russian giants Zenith St. Petersburg.

However he failed to make the grade at the Russian side and joined Amkar Perm in 2011, where he has spent the last six seasons although he spent time on loan with Dinamo St. Petersburg in 2013.

Kelechi Iheanacho Should Be Loaned Out To A Premier League Club – Jack Heale

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-22.jpg

Kelechi Iheancho has had a quick rise to fame at Manchester City beginning with his promotion to the first team from the academy back in the 2015/16 season.

He quickly established himself as a fans favorite under the reigns of Pelligrini with scoring the winner at Crystal Palace to sustain City’s five-game winning streak at the time in the Premier League.

From then he scored a further 13 goals in all competitions reflecting his impressive season imposing a threat to defences amongst the league’s best.

The 20-year-old Nigerian has recently fallen to third choice striker under Guardiola with the arrival of Brazilian wonder kid Gabriel Jesus whose flair and intelligence thrills the City faithful who are immensely excited to have him at their disposal.

Kelechi has only had a handful of starts this season and even with a return of six goals Pep still evidently lacks faith in the forward reflected by his lack of appearances during Aguero’s four-game suspension in which Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne, both unnatural strikers, were preferred for the position.

He has recently won Africa’s most promising player to partner his clinical finishing and sharpness within the box.

However there is still a lot to learn for the young forward with his technical ability such as first touch and dribbling needing improvement for him to a become the much more complete attacker.

Not only this, his off the ball intelligence to make logical runs in behind and when to press the opposition’s back line and when not to needs work but the majority of his weaknesses can be learned however it will take time for this progression to occur.

With him having the goal scoring prowess and ability to be scoring at least 15 goals a season if he was provided first team opportunities.

The player with the best goal to minute’s ratio in Premier League history, only the Argentinian ace comes close with a goal every 107.1 minutes in comparison to Kelechi’s goal every 95.7 minutes, would love the chance to be finding the net for a mid-table side.

Week in week football is needed to enhance his growth as a player, and a relegation threatened team might become the answer. He may become an integral part in their survival for the remainder of the campaign returning to City as a more complete forward.

Impressive Victor Moses Bags Assist In Chelsea Win Over Hull City

https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/96581Moses.jpg

Chelsea extended their advantage at the top of the Premier League standings following a routine 2-0 victory over Hull City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening.

The Tigers were solid defensively and didn’t concede until the seventh minute of first-half stoppage time when Diego Costa netted his 15th goal of the season, with Nigeria star Victor Moses providing the assist.

Though Chelsea were not at their very best, they managed to score a second goal in the 81st minute through Gary Cahill.

Cesc Fabregas crossed the ball into the box from a free kick, and the England defender headed home from a couple of yards.

Moses, who made his 21st appearance of the season, played the full game, while youngsters Ola Aina, Fikayo Tomori and Dominic Solanke did not make the Blues squad.

Following the win, Chelsea have 55 points in the kitty after 22 rounds, eight more than nearest challengers Arsenal.

True sha. Because after our coach moved up top, he usually complains that I am playing too deep. He assumes that it's because I "enjoy the game too much". But I don't totally trust that coach because he tends to blame me for practically everything. I can score two goals but if we lose, he would ask why I didn't score three!

A player can play any position. I started playing as a Center Back - #5. In those days, you can't cross. But at the U17 camp, the coach moved me #10, so I can control the game. But I played as a top 9 and scored a lot of goals in college, here in the States. So I have seen it all, and was able to fit in anywhere they want me to play.

O pari
But you make silly mistakes when you're newly introduced to another position however, I'm not disagreeing with you. John Oshea could play every position in the pitch when he was with man. u.

Ex Chelsea Ace Mikel To Open Chinese Adventure With German Test

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/image-27.jpg

EPL Legend Merson – Victor Moses Is As Important As Costa And Hazard To Chelsea

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/image-5.jpg
Former Arsenal midfield maestro Paul Merson believes Chelsea wingback Victor Moses is important to the team just like regular goal scorers Eden Hazard and Diego Costa.

The Nigerian has been tremendous this season for Chelsea with 21 appearances to his name and four goals despite playing in an unfamiliar role as a wing back.

Merson while speaking on Sky Sports credit the Nigerian for slotting into the wing back role in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 system with ease despite never playing in that role in the past.

” You talk about Eden Hazard and Diego Costa but Moses has been as important as anyone in making the system work for Conte and he’s also scored some important goals”, Merson said.

” To consider he’d never played that role before is just incredible”.

Little Benin dare FIFA again as govt sacks FA

Little West African country Benin Republic have dared FIFA to ban them for direct government interference after it sacked the country’s elected football federation and replaced it with committee of appointees.

The committee is headed by Moucharafou Anjorin, but he is no longer federation president.

Other members include former federation president Augustin Ahouanvoebla and they have been given 18 months within which to redesign the country’s football statutes and organize fresh elections at the end of their tenure.

The secretariat of the Benin FA has been under lock and key for the past one year.

And the country’s president Patrice Talon has dared FIFA to ban the country from international after he set up the committee two weeks ago.

“Benin are not afraid of FIFA ban,” a top source informed.

“Anjorin has been told clearly he cannot report the government to FIFA or CAF.

“The government is ready for anything, but so far there has been no word yet from either FIFA or CAF.”
