Have been having the same problem, its not accepted on some websites, contrary to GTB claims.
You may need to get the Dollar Visacard for more reliable online transactions.
Personally, my experience with GTB has not been very good on this issue: applied for the then Dollar MasterCard in 2008, six months prior to an intended trip to Indian, didn't get it until 3mnths after the trip.
They subsequently cancelled and replaced it without warning with the current Naira based MasterCard, which as we all know, doesn't work with all websites.
Have currently applied for the Dollar based. VisaCard, told it would be ready in 2wks time, checked recently and found out it had not even been processed because the officer responsible had resigned, that I should wait another 2wks - while they keep milking & hanging onto my money without giving me the required service, yeah, that's Nigeria for you.
