Here we go again, I have discussed at different fora lately, perhaps maybe because of my background in the military and a few other incidences recently. this has been my sincere thought and as sorry as this thought is, it has just been corroborated. 1. the way things are at the moment, the northern mafia will prefer to die, than to see Goodluck become president, when its likely to face a lot of pressure from his region to give 50% derivation, which i believe is legitimate. 2. what does it take to carry out a coup at this time sef, nigerians by our nature will definitely keep quiet like it has always been. 3. count all the coup d' tats in this country and tell me, which tribe has been the masterminding tribe? (pls i am not a tribalist) i am being very objective here. 4. the chief justice of the federation retires in january, so who swears in goodluck when there is a vacuum? 5. so why wont the military come back when there is no defacto president, so as to forstall break down of law and order. My people, lets cry foul now, so it doesnt come to us unawares. To see a full report on the confirmation of my fears visit http://www.saharareporters.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4632:goodluck-jonathan-takeover-yaradua-kitchen-cabinet-digs-in-heels&catid=1:latest-news&Itemid=18 goodluck to nigerians. |
I was involved in a discussion sometime last week and part of what we deliberated was that since 1962 when unilag came into being, a friend was of the opinion that we do not have up to 1 million Nigerian graduates from Nigerian universities to date and av been pondering. And coming to think of it, i think he is right, but if thats the case, what does that potend for this nation? If you think this ascertion is wrong, justify your postulation with figures o (from 1962) to date. No need for empty yarns here. Is it a plus for us and we should have done better by now. |
Hi, while i appreciate ur worries, thinking back, medical students? Hmmmm, they used to be very drab. i think there's something ur not getting right; maybe those u hang out with and all school work. Try making friends in the humanities where they dont do too many serious things, you find a few informal people and in the middle of hanging out, a serious minded can meet you someday. But stay put, marriage is not moin moin. Dont rush and dont show it to any man u want to marry otherwise he might turbo. I hope with these few points of mine, i have be able to concieve, oh sorry decieve, oh sorry again convince you. |
Firstly, i dont believe this thread, and if it is perhaps true is the poster talking for herself and fo God's sake cant she advice her friend because she hasnt said anything as regards advicing her so called friend. However, in my opinion, this section is for matured people and not kids. What is that rubbish about sucking? Poster, who ever you are if you dont have work to do, dont come here and post things that dont add value to people or society. Good ridance to bad rubbush. hiiiiiisssssssssssssssss. |
We need to put this issue in proper perspective. I give you my cousins LIVE scenario. He had this chick (mind u i said he had, which means past tense) that was always insistent on seeing his phone, that why would he use a lock code for his fone and that since they were getting married there was no need for them to keep secrets. Its not in the nature of my friend to pry into his chick's private affairs, but since the chick had been insistent and he had agreed to remove the lock code, all in the name of transparency, he decided a few times to check his babe's phone and behold he saw some gurry details, he confronted her and she gave some flimpsy excluses. Today, they have broken up. The lesson to learn: Those who live in glass houses dont throw stones. For me, i am against a woman prying into my phone, i will not pry into yours. We all have secrets and the best thing to do is respect our individualities and privacies. |
A major problem here is the problem of assasination. I know a lot of people like me would av loved to go into politics, but for fear of losing ones life. I know a lot of people are like that too. Until the government resolves that puzzle, a lot of credible people wont come into politics in Nigeria. |
Sorry, i forgot he is just running the 1st term and he is likely going to run for 2nd term. So do we start canvassing for 2015? Its never too early. |
If these developments our able governor (BRF) in Lagos is anything to recon with, then i will be tipping him for the top job in Aso Rock in 2011. If he contests, i will vote for him. I need people that would vote for or against. I am not taking the counts on this forum for granted. If you remember, one of the strongest strategies that Obama also used was the power of the internet, where people donated money online. If we must get him there the time to start the work is now. I am for Fashola, who is joining me? |

Story! are you saying the same incident will not happen if they relocate to Alimosho?Use ya head bro. There are times i wonder what kind of people are on NL. People talk/write and dont think before they do that. If the government is trying to put proper structure to something, does it not suggest that they would try and take away bottle necks that are prevalent in the current system, if not 100%, at least they would try to ensure that lives and properties are better protected. So, you poster are you also suggesting that the status quo in computer village would happen in the new location? Please you this small boys on NL, please always think before you write your posts abeg. |
Great idea. That computer village has become armed robbers den. I imagine instances when people lose their phones and they are told to go and repurchase the phone in computer village. What rubbish? That place is called Katangowa, Its a place popularly known for selling fairly used clothes on the Lagos-Abeokuta exp. way axis. Precisely before Abule Egba bus stop. I hope this helps somebody. |
This so interesting. I was just educating someone on tithing only yesternight and to my greatest surprise, i come to NL dis morning and see it as a hot topic. Tithing is a law of Moses. This law was nailed to the cross when Christ came to die for our sins. Please take a read of this article. http://www.layhands.com/MustChristiansTitheTenPercent.htm It should help. |
For me as pathetic as your story sounds, i seem to have a few misgivings. 1. How come its your guy's younger sis that is carrying a new baby on her back? 2. You give us the impression that his sibs like you, so y would one of them spite you this way? If your story is true, u know what to do, So if nairalanders tell you to continue, you will continue abi? Spend time in the presence of God. Attend midweek services in your church if your a christian. Like i have always said, the beauty about how God created the heart is that no matter how hurt you are , the hearbreak can still mend. Its a matter of time. I promise you'll find happiness again by the grace of God. Always remember, no one on NL is better than you, dont let anyone run your self esteem down. We are all equal before God. Who is perfect amongst us, let him or her raise their hands. All the best sis. |
reading through his thread 1st scared me. Marriage scares me as i speak. But sincerely keep it coming. I am learning. from the little i know, the major thing that makes marriage works is forgiveness. i am scared like i said. i dont know if i am right? |
@poster I am sorry a lot of people have been sitting on the fence on this your thread, but i will not, because the easiest way to kill you is to ill advice you. The solution is simple. 1. Has your intended ever had crisis in your presence before? 2. Do you have the financial muzzle to support an SS carrier? 3. Do you feel like burying a wife at a young age? My advice to you. Answer these three questions, especially No. 1 or better still find and talk to a honest medical doctor to educate you on the consequences of what you are about to put yourself through. |
I am really wondering how a government parastatal saddled with a particular responsibility creates a sub-responsibility with the same responsibility. Apart from ensuring that customs collect taxes on behalf of government at the ports, ensure that goods coming into nigeria come in with the right documents and checking smuggling at the borders, what else id their work abeg? |
honestly, i do not want to believe all of that excepts are from Dr. Abati Reuben. Please after reading the thread i wasnt too patient to see if the link on the thread has been supplied. Please whoever posted this should link us to the source to be double sure. However, if this is Dr. Abati that truly said this, then i will truly now believe that its only God that can never change. if he accepts that he said all these, he must be a shameless, uncouth and an unprincipled man still battling with what to eat and all the little materialisms of life. So collecting land from a government that is seen as being corrupt is a sign of appreciation for a social critic? Land? Let him go and ask El-Rufai himself, the father of all Abuja lands, where is he today? Reuben, if this is true, ur a shame and disgrace to Nigeria. Always know that the truth must be told no matter how it sounds. |
Lagos - Nigerian customs officers intercepted a truck loaded with nearly 200 Italian-made rifles on a road in the south-west of the country and arrested three suspects, a spokesperson Friday, "The anti-smuggling unit of the service intercepted the truck with 190 pieces of brand new Italian-made rifles on the Ijebu Ode-Benin expressway on Wednesday," Wale Adeniyi said. He said the three occupants of the vehicle had lied that the truck was loaded with motor spare parts. "The suspects are helping us in our investigation, " he added. Nigerian customs get anti smuggling squad, wetin be the whole custom work? |
@poster As much as i feel for you, people commenting and criticizing you on your experience are doing so simply because they dont know what loving someone means. Perhaps, lookin at our different backgrounds, some never saw the parents love each other. Infact in this part of the world i have heard parents even preach to their children that marriage is for child bearing and nothing more. I beg to disagree. I bet you, she would come back. Men dont usually respect women they get cheap. She's gone cheap to another guy, but remember, they might not have slept in bed, so if you truly love her, its part of your responsibility to teach her except she is unteachable. Go read 1 cor 13 in the holy bible. It would help you. The problem here is that the kind of love we usually practice is selfish and thats why there is hurt. Please dont be dismayed, if you truly love, you call her, talk to her to see reasons in what she did, ask her if she's no more interested. I have always been an advocate for dialogue in all crisis issues. Be strong, call her and talk it over. |
@banom, My bible tells me that faith is the substance of things hoped for but yet unseen. Faith is critical in healing. There is a woman in the bible with the issue of blood, there is also the issue of Lazarus that was dead for 4 days. when healing issues came for them, they sought Jesus and they believed that Jesus could heal them, so if your so called president does not seek Jesus and believe, healing may be far from him. Please also note, no man of God heals, only God does. Any which way, you need to try and stop being blasphemous if thats your intention. Believe me Jesus is the truth, the way and the life, no man comes unto God except through him. However, whether all our so called men of God are truly men of God, that is for God to judge. God has not given any man right of judgement over his fellow man. cheers. |
great post if you ask me. Even as much as i dont like this issue of their prostitution (because thats truly what it is), the economy is bad. An average Nigerian girl is so shallow, even common spoken english they cant speak and all they have to flaunt is their body as if other women in the world dont have bodies too. You need to go to Senegal, Togo, Ghana and see chicks that look very original, Most of them dont wear bra and you see beautiful and firm bodies in their natural state. U feel like chopping for ever. Naija chicks? Hmmmmm!!! I no fit shout. Where do i start from, is it the big bele or the N300 slippers they buy and wear? I cant count. No wonder bend down boutique is the order of the day in Naija. On the other hand, dont blame them too because of our broses that dont have enough confidence and lyrics to captivate a girl's attention except vain talks about their material possessions. what do you expect from the 'gal'? Ofcourse to tax you. So if a guy is short of intelligence and words to keep a chic interested in him and all she has to talk about are his numerous cars and houses and uncles that are senators, please pay the tax. You called for it. |
Hauwa, ur not just yanning poetry, its okpata your yanning. Truly, there are women like that. You dont have an idea when a guy wants to give his best into something and the woman is not there. Bros, divorce no good, but if the marrariage no dey make you happy abeg, waka. Life is too short. There are too many nice and caring chicks that are waiting outside to welcome you into their arms. |
Was all dis really necessary?? Missing handset saga:Thank God they didn’t plant a gun on me — Etim Esin The last has not been heard on the raging ‘war’ between two former Super Eagles players who wore the famous Number 10 jersey, Etim ‘Maradona’ Etim and Austin Jay Jay Okocha on the drama of a missing phone handset at the residence of Okocha. Okocha The Delta-born former Bolton Wanderers captain spoke to Vanguard Sports Wednesday, stressing that he would go to church for a thanksgiving because the Etim Esin issue could have been worse, may be leading to a harm on him by Esin. Esin replying on Thursday said he too was thankful to God that he was just accused of stealing a handset that turned out not to be true and not roped in for armed robbery which could have been worse for him. “If he said he was going to church to thank God, I would also go to the mosque to thank God that I was only accused of stealing a phone which they eventually did not find with me. My brother, what if they planted a gun in my car and told the world that I’m an armed robber, would it not have been worse for me”, Esin said over the phone in Lagos. The former forward of defunct Iwuanyanwu FC and Flash Flamengoes of Benin said that the humiliation he and his wife suffered at the residence of Okocha has caused his wife to breakdown causing her to travel out to France to recuperate. “They said they begged my wife, what nonsense, after embarrassing her and she wept profusely, they are now begging her. My wife is still in shock over the treatment and has continued to wonder that somebody I so much talk about with passion could do that to me. Can Nkechi his wife be searched like that, why my wife, the woman that stood by me when I had problem. And I was taking my wife to his house for the first time”, he said. Continuing, Esin said “because of the trauma, she has gone to France to cool off. Okocha keeps saying he loves me, all this was a phony love, he never loved me. They are just jealous about my wife, a Malian Fulani who married me for love, not for fame. We met during my travails not when I was playing. You see I don’t have money but I have a wonderful family, a blessing from God. Okocha or HiTV cannot give me a family. They are jealous of my family that’s all. I bought a 2008 Mazda for N4.5 million, Okocha or Toyin Subair did not buy it for me. Instead of opening an academy to help former players and produce future stars, he is opening a night club. What happens there, is it not prostitution and drugs. If I have money I won’t open a night club but an academy to help the young ones.” He said he did not learn from the armed robbery attack on him as well as the drug issue about his life but will definitely learn from what happened to him in Okocha’s residence because “if I am accused of begging, it is better than being roped with armed robbery. People know that I have been surviving on good will because for 15 years I had no job, and now Okocha and Subair want to destroy that because they are friends.” He said Okocha’s attitude of looking down on people is very bad as he said that he would be named among the list of top number 10 players in Nigeria and Africa before Okocha, stressing that players like Daniel Amokachi, Victor Ikpeba and Celestine Babayaro played with flair like him than Okocha. On the issue that it was not Okocha’s phone that was missing, Etim said, “whether it was his phone or not, why was I embarrassed in his house. They said my daughter was not there, that is not true. My daughter loves me so much and is always with me, she even wanted us to leave the party early but I delayed.” He said he was ready to go the whole hug with the law suit to clear his name because “they embarrassed me and my wife and made her shed tears so much. Okocha is too proud, he doesn’t want to say simple sorry. Didn’t Atiku go to Obasanjo so why can’t Okocha apologise for embarrassing my family. ” > I wonder what type of phone was stolen ?! As far as i am concerned, Etim must be an ingrate. Calabar man. "My wife went to cool off in france" In as much as i do not support humiliation and embarrassment of anybody, i think Etim is extremely childish here. All he makes me remember is his inferiority complex in all of these. He must remember that these 2 guys he is pulling issues with can buy him a million times over. I dont know so much about Okocha' wealth but i av an idea of what Toyin Subair is worth. Etim's talking about 2008 mazda. Please whoever knows Etim, should pass this message to him, Toyin is Dr. Mike Mudock's Lawyer, handling his book copyright amongst other things. Toyin started earning millions in dollars over 5 years ago and here your talking of having a 2008 mazda. Poverty and complex is still pursuing Etim. Apart from being Etim's employer, he needs to go and find out about Toyin's testimony about how God blessed him, about how when a particular couple was getting married in church and they did not have a car and Toyin offered his car as a gift and did not have a car. Please for those who dont know him personally, this is a young man, that God has a hand in his life. I know his story well. I no want talk again. Simply out, he is someone i respect. Has Etim ever given anyone a bicycle gift before. He dey craze. Aint this man ashamed? He is still talking about clearing his dirty name in court. shior. |
We need to be careful when making responses on threads like this that are very sensitive. For whatever its worth, from what i have read here. 1. Etim was not the only one that was searched 2. Okocha had been helping him in the past with gifts 3. He gave you N50k as a gift @ the party Haba!!! Alhaji Essien, for old time sake, is to take a helping friend to court the solution. You are cheap. I have known Toyin Subair for a long time. A good and down to earth xtian. We were in Fountain of Life church together, also remember Toyin is also a lawyer and he would not stand for injustice. The only reason Toyin is likely to tell Etim to applogise would be because, Okocha had helped in the past when no one was there. Etim, like my people would say "Igberaga lo ma siwaju iparun" (The beginning of d downfall of a man is PRIDE). I am sure Okocha would have appologised, but because your lawyer want to chop he has adviced you to form your story that way. For whatever its worth, court is not the solution, what if he did not have money. Dont be cheap. |
bro, honestly, you are not and would never be a loser for falling in love. Its worth the while, you can do it again, but find out what the new person really wants, but please dont ever use money to buy love. I think thats what you did. You would have noticed her attitude all the while but you did not want to let go because you loved her. dont make the same mistake again. |
interesting post if you ask me. for me virginity is not and would never be an issue with me. infact, i dont expect any girl to be a virgin in this new age. For me friendship matters, i have met alot of girls that are virgins and for me, most of the time they are not good in bed, so of what use is that to me? Always know that, the man may not be a virgin, you must find out what exactly trips him, if a woman brings virginity to me, the first thing that would come to my mind is "i am not ready to teach any woman about sexual issues". I dont have a problem with your keeping yourself, but, it might not trip your boyfy or proposed husband. Different folks for different strokes. For me virginity does not trip me. (No be issue) Compartibility comes before love, its only when you are compartible that you can build love. Coming to think of it, what area of compartibility are you talking about? No sex yet? Wahala can come where your not compartble sexually o, so if you dont want to have sex before marriage, you have to discuss it extensively and get convinced. You can never know a man's true intention until after he has had you (my opinion though). |
funny. have you ever imagined how police men and women are recruited? if i tell you the story, u will trip. to say the list, the recruitment precess is also a shame n its beta imagined. Simple question i want to ask NL, Ask yourself, the policemen and women we see on the streets, if they were not wearing that uniform, which strata in the society would they have fitted in? For me, maybe, area boys or area gals, okada drivers, armed robbers, conductors, bus drivers etc. I dont av problems wit al these, but i think the govt has a responsibility to do a re-orientation of the police. Most of the time when they stop me, i stop, but al they ask for is " oga what do you have for your boys" its a shame. |
All these guys talking about paypal here are all liars. I have a paypal account registered against my US address. Dont let anyone decieve you. There is more to it than all they are saying. They are all FAKES. |
tatooboy:Oga stop fooling yourself. |
paypalplus:For me, you sound more like a criminal with this your thread. I am resident here in Nigeria, but i have a paypal account. I used my address in the US to open it. For those who do not know how paypal work, please read this before someone chops your money. To have a verified paypal account, you must have a bank account opened in your name and its your bank account that would be tied to your paypal account, paypal would pay some money into that account (less than $1) and tell you to input that money into your paypal account and thats how they get your account verified. Now the main issue here is that America is such a regulated society, such that tax is usually deducted at source. When verifying your account, your social security nbr is contained in your bank account details, so when someone else opens an account on your behalf, who pays the tax from the transactions you carry out? So what this guy is saying is that the company whose address you use pays your tax? You are the biggest scammer i have heard in recent times. Please find out from anyone that lives in the US if they would not corroborate what i ave said here. Oga, stop fulling yourself. |
