Codyella: Oh really? Now you want to type? After you were reading my messages and ignoring them?
You told me that the battery is new. The car had rust on it and I did not want to go for it but because you assured me that the car had no issues and the battery was new, I went for it. Stating that I knew of the state of the battery is unethical cos its not possible for you to tell me that a car with rust had a dead battery and I will go for it. I'm not a spend thrift!
Car was delivered even without a drop of brake fluid and the oil was even at the tip of the stick with a rusted filter. Tell me, who does car service without putting those?!
You're clearly a fraud! I can't believe there was a time I defended you! I guess I got a taste of my own medicine and I hereby apologise to those guys I doubted. Sorry for your experience. I feel amdman may need to query some of his staff about some things here. Yes, a battery is something we all replace in cars, and I have a feeling it was good when amdman drove it over there or else he would have said something. However, I feel one of the Lagos mechanic or the driver who drove it down should have noticed the bad battery and said something. Also, if the engine oil was low, it means you may have a bigger issue on the car, either a leak or the engine burning oil. Again one of those guys should have said something. No way a car will burn almost 4 litres of oil travelling from Lagos to the East. That is if the engine oil was truly changed. As for the low level of brake oil, it could be another leak or the brake pads are worn. I will advise you have someone inspect all the brake pads and possibly check for brake oil leaks. Meanwhile, if you can work out a return and refund, please take the option since you already have bad vibes about the whole thing. For the sake of peace of mind. I think everyone have something to take out of the whole unfortunate situation. To all of you using style to abuse women, God will forgive you. |
Car Talk › Re: Advice On 2017 Nissan Pathfinder by tayosmatts(f): 9:17pm On May 07, 2020 |
HeavenlyBang: Haha, a rare Nissan lover! CVTs do drive horribly, tbh. Nissan CVTs anyway; Honda CVTs seem to be ok.
Don't buy with the sport package if you need ground clearance. I think the Sport models have a front bumper lip/spoiler. The paddle shifters are great, though, and I think it adds the sway bar from the 370z, though I'm not sure if it does on the X models.
Great car. Comfortable. Plenty of power, maybe a bit too much, even. Excellent handling. Meant for highway driving. At home at higher rpms, such a thrilling experience. Redline is at 7500 rpm!
Parts aren't scarce. Mine has been rock solid. Gas guzzler, though I know someone who says he gets 18 mpg combined on his G37 when using octane boosters. Recommended. Thank you so much. Well appreciated. |

HeavenlyBang:
 Can't say I wasn't expecting it.
Btw, the "13-pin" transmission is also pretty unreliable--in Nigeria. Not going to argue about that. Seems to be a lack of tolerance for dirt, mostly.
Nissan's Jatco CVTs, however, are considered trash around the world. Fact. I'm talking randomly die on you before 100k miles trash.
Edit: http://www.nissanproblems.com/cvt/ Like I said, that was my own experience. I'm kind of given to Nissan's though, since my Dad's Datsuns. Maybe I am biased towards them. I know hubby hates driving my CVTs though. Said they drive horribly. His opinion. Drives well to me though. I'm eyeing that your G35x with a sports package next. At least I will have something to race hubby with. Your thoughts? |
Car Talk › Re: Advice On 2017 Nissan Pathfinder by tayosmatts(f): 8:36pm On May 07, 2020 |
HeavenlyBang: Never buy a Nissan with a CVT. Forget the ones that'll come and tell you that you just need to maintain it, that theirs has been reliable. They're just lucky.
For that money, I'm certain you can buy an RX350 that'll be a better car in every single way. Or an MDX. If you just want a Nissan, why not look for a second-gen FX35? While I agree with most of your posts here, the bolded above is untrue. I have been using CVTs since 2014, two since that time, none gave me issues. I have three of my colleagues with them too. The one time time one of theirs had an issue, replacement of a speed sensor sorted it. Use the right transmission oil and you should be fine. I have like two friends that have a Toyota and a Lexus, and have crazy transmission issues. I was told those cars use an "unreliable 13 pin" gearbox. I feel you guys demonise Nissan CVTs unneccessarily. Personal opinion based on my experience. |

OK everyone, I've been reading this silently. I think it's time for everyone to sheath their swords. You've all made your points. Please let's move on. All these accusations and counter - accusations will only keep us going in circles.
Since goods are already here, and some refunds has been made, drsuleiman100, please, for sake of peace, contact the courier guy, and arrange your courier. Know that no system is perfect. If you don't do this, the longer your consignment stays, the closer to expiry date.
Bizbloke, you are not perfect, no matter how you try, you can only strive towards perfection. Please issue him an apology for the lateness of his goods (I know he is already aware, and I know the delay is probably not your fault). Fact is you are the one running an organisation, issues like this is a waste of everyone's time and energy. Just take a look at the space it took on this thread.
Please let's have a closure, and let business continue. Thank you. |
