Thanks once more |
Hallo Bro, COuld you please help me check the following VIN: WDDGF54XX9F221929 You can post the result on this page. Thanks a mill!! |
Roserbert:Hey bro... I think you might just have to get your tranny changed. Nissan CVTs are not exactly very tolerant of non-CVT fluids nor easy to fix (as are all CVTs)- My fiancee had a tranny problem with her Primera, and at the end of the day, we just had to get a new one- with the help of nissparts. ONLY a similar CVT box, with the corresponding Ns-1 fluid will work. I suggest you get in contact with nissparts or any other PROPER nissan specialist you might know for further guidance. You're looking at a bill of 80k ish or thereabouts |
Nice one Bro... You beat me to it... Where are you located?- I could recommend someone for a super paint job.... That Bug brings back memories... :-) |
Lovely work Siena.... Hopefully my next car restoration would be taking place soon in better climes... ![]() |

eightsin:Well, unfortunately concept cars are not for sale... they would still have to undergo a number of changes before they are deemed ready for mass production and this could last years. I will, however, post pictures of cars that you can save up for... ![]() |

I will start with the concept cars that I saw- these cars showcased the latest in technology and styling, and most of the car manufacturers at the motor show had one... Being that this carshow took place in France, (and also to make someone's day ), I will start with the Peugeot concept car, the Peugeot Exalt...https://i1365.photobucket.com/albums/r757/t-die/Motor%20mondial/DSC00712_zps7de1e255.jpg https://i1365.photobucket.com/albums/r757/t-die/Motor%20mondial/DSC00716_zps0ee322da.jpg https://i1365.photobucket.com/albums/r757/t-die/Motor%20mondial/DSC00713_zps44257226.jpg |
After a lot of gesticulating, conversing in broken English, and several bus-stops later.... behold the venue...https://i1365.photobucket.com/albums/r757/t-die/DSC00681_zps6a40f488.jpg https://i1365.photobucket.com/albums/r757/t-die/DSC00682_zps1a0d53b7.jpg https://i1365.photobucket.com/albums/r757/t-die/DSC00683_zps68e9c991.jpg |
So... I've finally being able to upload some of my pictures to Photobucket, the storytelling can now begin... But first I guess a brief explanation of the Paris motor show (Mondial de l'Automobile)... it is a motor show held every 2 years in Paris which aims to showcase the latest automobiles and concept cars. More information can be found here: http://www.mondial-automobile.com/en/visitors/about/historique/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paris_Motor_Show |
lomomike:Omo no mind these French people. Even their metro station directions are mostly in French, and were confusing for a first-timer. Ah. My Audi is doing pretty well. Unfortunately she's marooned in Uyo because the roads out of Uyo (Ikot-ekpene/umuahia and Ikot-ekpene/aba) are currently not passable |
So I was in Paris on business some days back and coincidentally heard about the ongoing motor-show 2014. Hmmm... No be small thing o. Na so I enter bus miss road like 4 times until I finally got to the venue at the Paris Expo, Place de Versailles... Am on my way back to naija. Pictures will be uploaded when back... JJC in Paris. ;-) |
Nice one Ikenna, I'm tempted to drive up to Abuja from Uyo but unfortunately will not be able to get the required permissions to leave town... :-( |
@ Yungboss... How far with our Porsche project nah? You just hang all man for mid air...! :-) |
Lovely lovely project...! Makes me feel like starting on another project asap. :-). Unfortunately my 1968 Merc 200 restoration plans have fallen through-owners refused to sell at a reasonable price! :-( Currently considering my other options... What colour are you going for at the end? |
Jacksolo4me: Yes sir!!!.....that's the problem I face also..I have a bucket list of mods that need to go on the car..money oh!-it's always Goin to be a hobby and besides the end product is to turn Heads Abi---Thief head go also dey turn!!!https://www.nairaland.com/1326560/t-dies-2002-audi-a4-b6 |
Your ride sure looks cool... A black top- Glass, Vinyl or painted, and big rims can do wonders to the looks of a car!! Reminds me of my project...! I'm itching to do another, but ba kudi... :-) |
Chai... you got my appetite all whetted up, Unfortunately, the owners of the Merc that I was interested in refused to sell :-(. Where are you based? Wouldn't mind popping into your town when you do start the project. |
NewIdeas: House i seriously need info about peugeot 306 wagoon.if you have used it before kindly advise me before i make my decision to buy or not.thanksI used a Pug 306 between 2007 and 2010. Nice rugged car, I daresay more rugged (due to less electrics) than the 406. I never had a problem with parts (I was living in Enugu, and the famous Mgbuka Obosi part market was just 2 hours away). I bought her naija used, then restored and used her for for 3 years, sold her, and the new owner used her till he totalled the car in a crash. Weak points as always with Pugs and other European marques-temperamental electrics (if you let some quack rewire touch her-like I did mine back then :-( ) , I also had occasional door latch problems, but nothing serious. Engine and Suspension are OK. No big worries there. But then these days, the 306 is quite a rare sight. Parts might be scarcer and more expensive to source so it does make sense to upgrade to a 406 or 206. But in all, the 306 is a rugged workhorse... |
yungboss: I didn't really get the "mid-life crises" aspect of your comment. Thanks, I'll consider your opinion too. But it's not going to be a daily driver. Like CityNG suggested, it may be handed over to someone somewhere in the end...but let's see how it turns outif you're looking to resell, then I'd advice you not to bother. Most Nigerians do not understand the concept of car restoration. Imagine someone pricing to buy my Audi for 900K- that was after he had gone through my restoration thread o...! His excuse was thatI bought the Car already Nigerian used. Another point to note is that if you're going to be doing a Porsche restoration, you might probably end up paying premium for replacement parts. I remember even the chaps from "Wheelers Dealers" on Discovery channel complaining about high cost of Porsche parts when they were restoring a Boxster and later also a 944. Summary: Restore only if you won't mind the expenses (and trust me, it can get quite high...), and if you intend to keep her... |
@yungboss.... I totally envy you... Will be following this project with avid interest. I'm myself also looking at another german car restoration this year- though the car is quite older than your Porsche- a 1966-68 Mercedes 200 (W110). Do keep us updated. |
