A competent Human Resources Officer is urgently needed to be responsible for reporting to the human resources manager and working alongside an existing human resources officer. The candidate will supports human resources department by screening and interviewing applicants; preparing payroll, on-boarding new employees, administering employee benefit programs etc.

Job Description

• Create and Manage the HR database for the company.
• Lead and manage various Human Resources projects as directed by the Human Resources Manager and in line with HR objectives.
• Manage and co-ordinate manpower planning in line with company expansion
• Keep the records; documents and files relating to all staff within the company.
• Establish a network of relationships with the employees and ensure that this improves efficiency across the businesses.
• Ensure all employees’ record files are properly updated with the necessary set of documents.
• Remittances of all taxes and payroll deductions in a timely manner.
• Participating in the preparation and deployment of payroll activities every month and ensuring all employees are paid promptly and correctly.
• Provision to staff all required processing forms when requested for; e.g., leave management,
Leave Forms, Medical forms, Pension forms, Bank Account Opening Forms, Tax forms, etc.
• Develop and implement of recruitment strategies and processes while working closely with Managers and supervisors.
• Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and coordinating the hiring process.
• Create and implement effective on-boarding plans and provide counselling on policies and procedures.

Education Requirement

• BSc/HND in Human Resources Development/Management, Economics, Sociology, Behavioral Science or other related field



Experience and skills requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years working experience in HR.
• Proven work experience as a Human Resources Officer or similar role.
• A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages
• Problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
• Excellent writing and interviewing skills
• Great attention to detail and positive attitude
• Excellent organizational, administration and time management skills

I’m one of those that have not received the alert. I was thinking that the alert is for unsuccessful candidates. However, I’m the more convinced it is not.
There’s got to be an explanation to the delay in payment.

I’m not the first person giving props to this administration with the way the recruitment process has been going so far.

Even when the guy I said that too responded by saying those at the corridor of power are still there, I didn’t counter him to try to push any narrative.

Well, what I am saying is based on my hunch (which hardly fails me), and observation. What do you think the secretaries were doing as the interviews were going on? In my panel, after each person was interviewed, it took another ten minutes before the next person was called upon. And other guys in other panels I know attested to that trend. Like flowwolf said, which I agree with, all successful candidates will be in the MIS. Soooooooo?

That said, any theory that believes some people will receive alert and some will not, cannot be true. It does not pass the test of common sense. NNPC will reimburse everyone that attended the interview and put down their account details. I insist, it does not have any correlation with success.

Smart observation! I have noticed this since but I just felt like keeping mute cos I don't people to come for my head. However, since you have mentioned something related, let me speak up. Have your noticed that the alerts are coming from two guys, an MIS guy and a Compensation guy? In my opinion they are already sorting out the successfuls from the unsuccessfuls, hence the time lag in receiving alerts (It's not difficult for them to send everyone alert at the same time).

So the question we should be bothered about is, who has processed my tfare? Is it the MIS guy or the compensation guy. I am sure we can begin to deduce the implications now.

Well, if this alert is in batches, I guess this is the first time nnpc would be doing such since the commencement of this exercise but I don't think is in batches as we are yet to see new set of applicants that have received today.
