The president, who has frequently been seen on a bicycle since taking up his post in the Oval Office, said he got his foot caught in the pedal when trying to take it out to stop. I’m good," he said appearing in good spirits when immediately asked if he was OK In a statement to Fox News a White House official said, "The President said, his foot got caught on the pedal while dismounting and he is fine. No medical attention is needed. "The President looks forward to spending the rest of the day with his family," the official added. Following his tumble, Biden bent down to greet a child who was waiting along the president’s route in Rehoboth Beach and asked him what it’s like to run the country. Oh it’s like any other job," Biden joked. "Some parts are hard." The president then took a photo with the girl who said one day she planned to become president. The French president says he would go to Moscow in exchange for certain “gestures” from President Vladimir Putin The president of France, Emmanuel Macron, has said he would not rule out traveling to Russia and meeting with President Vladimir Putin, but only if certain preconditions are met. Paris supports Ukraine but will take measures to avoid any escalation of the conflict, the French leader told TF1 TV on Friday while visiting Kiev. Macron believes his continued contact with Putin does not affect France’s relations with Ukraine. He also said he plans to continue engaging with the Russian president on humanitarian issues such as food security. The French leader said some people do not understand his policy of maintaining contact with Russia, but he “thinks it is France’s role” to continue to do so. Asked whether he would visit Russia, Macron said it would require certain preconditions and “gestures” on the part of the Russian president. He did not specify what exactly he wants Russia to do, but added that he would engage with Putin in a “transparent way” and only when it is “useful.” The French president also defended his earlier statement that it is vital that Russia is not humiliated over its actions in Ukraine. France made this mistake with Germany after WWI, and it led to a situation in which the peace was lost when WWII broke out, he noted. Earlier this week, Macron called on Kiev to return to the negotiating table and resume talks with Moscow. The president suggested that France could serve as a mediator, adding that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “is going to have to negotiate with Russia.” At the time, Macron warned that prolonged hostility with Russia is not a viable long-term solution for European security. On Friday, he said that gasoline and food prices in France continue to rise due to the conflict, and “we have to take exceptional decisions in exceptional times.” Rtnews

PoliteActivist:shey na you wan overthrow am, Russia no be like naija ooo… “overthrow” is missing from their dictionary. |
1. The break with the West is irreversible and final. No pressure from the West will change that. 2. Russia has regained its sovereignty and will not give it back to anyone. Strengthening political and economic sovereignty are top priorities. 3. The old world is collapsing and the era of American dominance is over. Now a new world is being formed. 4. Despite all the support from the West for Ukraine, the operation in Ukraine will continue until all the goals are achieved. 5. Economically, Russia will not close - the emphasis will be on domestic economic development and the reorientation of trade to countries independent of the US. 6. The EU is no longer seen as a subjective player - solely as a collection of American vassals devoid of military-political subjectivity. 7. Big business is once again offered to make a choice - either "nationalization" in Russia, or deprivation of assets in the West. In general, the main leitmotif of the entire speech is that the ship is on the same course, there will be no turning back. Those who are still waiting or are afraid of the upcoming changes in Russia and in the world are once again offered to make a choice - with whom they are.#UkraineWar #Russia #Ukraine Source: Lord of War |

President Emmanuel Macron says France, Germany, Italy and Romania are in favor French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that Germany, France, Italy and Romania are all in favor of granting Ukraine immediate EU-candidate status, following a joint meeting between the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the four EU leaders in Kiev on Thursday. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis arrived in Ukraine this morning to hold talks with Zelensky at the Presidential Palace in Kiev. After the talks concluded, the visiting leaders held a press conference at which they announced the results of the talks and expressed support for Ukraine amid the ongoing military conflict with Russia. Macron was first to announce that all the present EU members were in support of granting Ukraine immediate candidate status to join the European Union. He also added that France will deliver six additional long-range Ceasar guns to Ukraine on top of the 12 Ceasars that have already been delivered. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that he'd come to Ukraine with a clear message – that Ukraine belongs in the European family and that Germany will support a positive decision on Ukraine and Moldova’s EU membership accession. Italy’s Draghi also expressed support for Ukraine’s candidate status, stating that "We are at a turning point in our history. The Ukrainian people defend every day the values of democracy and freedom that underpin the European project, our project. We cannot wait. We cannot delay this process." The Italian leader also addressed the destruction Ukraine has endured during this conflict, stating that “they destroyed the nurseries, the playgrounds”. He vowed, however, that Ukraine will be rebuilt with European help. Meanwhile, Zelensky urged the visiting leaders to put more pressure on Russia and accept a new, seventh package of sanctions against Moscow, arguing that its aggression is an attack against all of Europe. - “7th sanction lmao, 6th obviously didn’t work as well, same as 1-5, after 7th nko, dem go initiate the 8th, 7th will include total boycott of Russian gas, I’d love to see that, albeit e no fit work but it will never stop the war, make dem give this mor0n a gun, make e go fight a real war out there jare.” -OP The Ukrainian leader also insisted that the more weapons his country got from Western nations, the faster it will be able to liberate its occupied territories. Offering to mediate, the French president said that Zelensky ‘is going to have to negotiate with Russia’ in the future French President Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday that his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky will have to restart negotiations with Russia at some point, offering European mediation in the process. “We want peace, which means that once we reach a ceasefire, discussions must resume,” the French leader said during a visit to Romania. “The Ukrainian president is going to have to negotiate with Russia, and we Europeans will be present at that table to offer security guarantees,” Macron added, speaking to the media alongside his Romanian counterpart, Klaus Iohannis Macron is visit included meetings with political leaders and with French troops deployed to the Mihail Kogalniceanu military base as part of NATO’s build-up on the eastern European flank. He touted the 500-strong presence of French soldiers as a “clear message of commitment” to the bloc’s policy during a speech at the base. NATO has ramped up troop presence across Eastern Europe, claiming it was necessary to deter Russia from attacking. Moscow perceives the buildup as confirmation of the bloc's hostility towards Russia and an encroachment on its borders. During the press conference with Iohannis, Macron reiterated that prolonged hostility with Russia was not a viable long-term solution for European security. “We Europeans share a continent with Russia, and geography is stubborn. Russia is here today, will be here tomorrow and was here yesterday,” he said. Macron's visit to Romania may be followed up by a trip to Ukraine, during which he would be joined by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi. The tour was not officially confirmed but was widely reported to be in the pipeline. Ukraine has held several rounds of talks with Russia, during which some progress was made in formulating a possible peace agreement. Kiev pledged to maintain a neutral status and refrain from military cooperation with NATO in exchange for getting security guarantees from leading world powers, including Russia. The talks were cut short after Ukraine accused Russian troops of committing war crimes in the town of Bucha near Kiev. President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that his people would not support any peace deal with Moscow due to the alleged atrocities, which Russia denies committing. Zelensky stated that instead of seeking a compromise, Ukraine will win the fight against Russia on the battlefield with the help of foreign weapons, and aid poured into Ukraine by the US and its allies. Ukrainian officials blamed the slow pace of the arming of its military by the West for the continued loss of territory to Russian forces, as well as the high number of casualties that Ukraine has suffered in the fighting. Moscow pointed out that flip-flopping on issues even as serious as war and peace has been a mark of Zelensky's tenure, as president and before he was elected. It also said Western nations were fueling the conflict instead of encouraging Kiev to seek a peaceful resolution to it. Source: RT news

Jordan Gatley served with the British Army until March when "after careful consideration... he went to Ukraine to help," his father wrote on Facebook. A former British soldier has died fighting Russian forces in the Ukrainian city of Severodonetsk, his family have said. Jordan Gatley, 24, left the British Army in March after six years "to continue his career as a soldier in other areas" and flew to Ukraine soon after to help fend off Russian forces and train Ukrainian soldiers Former comrades from 3rd Battalion The Rifles have been among those paying tribute to their former comrade, with an advisor to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also calling him "a true hero". Announcing the news on Facebook, Jordan's father Dean wrote: "Yesterday (10/06/22) we received the devastating news that our son, Jordan, has been shot and killed in the city of Severodonetsk, Ukraine." The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office confirmed it is "supporting the family of a British man who has died in Ukraine". His father added: "His team say they all loved him, as did we, and he made a massive difference to many peoples lives, not only soldiering, but also by training the Ukrainian forces. Jordan and his team were so proud of the work they were doing and he often told me that the missions they were going on were dangerous, but necessary. "He loved his job and we are so proud of him. He truly was a hero and will forever be in our hearts." He told Sky News that Jordan signed up with the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine - the Ukrainian Foreign Legion - travelling out on 18 March. He was being paid but died before his first pay came through, he added. "He joined it so he was covered by the Geneva Convention "He genuinely cared about people who were in trouble. I haven't stopped crying for two days." Mr Gatley's Facebook post, written late on Saturday, has been met with hundreds of messages of condolence. Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, also paid tribute to him. He posted on Twitter: "It takes a lot of courage to leave home and go thousand miles to defend what you believe in. "Just because the heart says so. Because you can't stand the evil. "Jordan Gatley was a true hero. We will always remember his contribution to the protection of Ukraine and the free world." Will Murray, who was in the 3rd Battalion The Rifles with Jordan, told Sky News: "Jordan was a really good lad. He took his job very seriously and was very professional." Mr Murray said they were not deployed into a conflict during the time they served together, but as he left The Rifles in 2020 it was possible that Jordan could have been on such a deployment between then and March of last year. "I was surprised [he went out to Ukraine]. I didn't think he would. But like I said he took it very seriously," added Mr Murray. Another person who served with Jordan in the 3rd Battalion The Rifles, Billyjoe Powers, told Sky News: "When I got into the army, Gatley was already there as a Lance Corporal. He always put you first, he was a top lad. In the field he was perfect, always looking out for others. Top lad. "He always had a smile on his face." Responding to the news of his death, he added: "I couldn't even believe it. I didn't know he had gone out there until I saw the RIPs." Second Briton to die in Ukraine since war began Jordan Gatley is the second Briton to have been confirmed dead in Ukraine during the war. Scott Sibley, 36, died in late April and was also a former member of the British Armed forces. The city of Severodonetsk has become the main focus of the Russian offensive in recent weeks. It is one of the last areas in the occupied eastern Luhansk region that is still under Ukrainian control. On Sunday the Ministry of Defence (MoD) posted in its latest intelligence update that "Russia is using its overmatch in force ratio and artillery to gradually seize territory in and around Severodonetsk https://news sky com/story/ukraine-war-former-british-soldier-shot-dead-in-fighting-in-severodonetsk-12632525 Seun Lalasticlala mynd44 front page
