nadina: Okay, where and how do i start celebrating and thanking God for His faithfulness and favor. I remember prior to my arrival in Calgary, i was discouraged from pursing a career in HR, as not being a lucrative career with little or no job opportunities in Canada. I was determined to follow my passion and dreams of becoming a world renowned Human Resources Consultant and i wasn't backing out.
On arrival in Calgary, i took advantage of one of the Government bridging programs , Corporate Readiness Training Program, a very good and informative one. I learnt how to write my resume the Canadian style, soft skills, interview preparation, and LinkedIn profile update. Then again, i was discouraged by the program instructor not to venture into HR profession yet as my little over 3months experience in HR will not be impressive to any employer. I contacted various recruitment agencies, and to God be be the glory, i landed my first contract job before the end of the program in a Multinational Investment Bank in Downtown Calgary. I continued my job search while working there. Lo and behold, one very good afternoon, i got a LinkedIn invite from the Director of Human Resources in one of the Oil and Gas servicing company in downtown, i accepted his request and he sends me a message, saying, "Hello, i am in need of HR Administrative Assistant in my company, would you mind sending me your resume for review". I quickly sent him my resume. Few minutes later, i received a call from the HR Manager scheduling an interview. I attended the interview two days later and she requested for two work references and promised to get back to me.
Before then, i heard God tell me, "the job is yours already, He single-handedly picked it for me. I am happy to announce to the whole house, indeed God keeps to His Word, i have received my employment letter and due to start work on Monday. For those till doubting that there is not just a God, but a Faithful one at that, who doesn't follow protocols in bringing to pass His Word, please you may have to reconsider your thoughts.
I am really ecstatic right now and want to encourage us all believers, do all you can, network all you can, prepare the best resume, enroll in the best courses, but do not rely on your efforts, put your trust in God and He will never let His children down.
On a more serious note, it’s better to err on the safe side. I’d also use a discounted value.
happytbaby: Funny enough I cannot see where to quote GlitteringStar for some weird reason so ayam quoting both of you.
I am not saying CIC will ultimately disqualify it, I am talking about the technicality of what a TB is worth at a point in it's life. I am okay with points 2 and 3.
If you decide to sell a TB prior to maturity you will sell it at a discount to face value however it should be higher than how much you paid for it initially (provided that interest rates have not moved up and your value gone down), this is a reasonable assumption since you would have expected to have earned some interest during the period you had the TB (holding period return). If you want to sell it today you cannot sell at face value.. ..it naturally follows that no one will buy it for the same amount that it will be redeemed in the future.
CIC aside, l was coming from the logical stand point of "I do not have that face value as at this moment and would not compare the exchange rates of today with a value of tomorrow, I will compare like with like" but this is me, it does not have to be what Guitarlife or any other person would do, I always prefer to be as safe as possible.
To answer Newmum, If I have 2 discounted instruments and they both have a tenor of 1 year but one has 2months to expiration, I will be more comfortable to use Face Value for the one expiring in two months time, I have already earned 10 months of interest .
For things like this, I guess CIC will most likely just let it slide because writing a rejection letter on the basis of POF saying that the DV is less than POF whilst FV is sufficient will be too 'one-kind'.
sweetrie: My brothers and my sisters, back from BC Abuja. My score was upgraded from 6.5 to 8.0. thank you plenty for everyone that answered and contributed. So Abuja people won't inform you of your EOR outcome. Just go collect the result. EOR took 8weeks.
Congratulations. May Cannyland favour you and your household.
belushi7: @40manlappy I remember when you responded to my concerns about wrong date of birth on my WES. It will be ungrateful for me not to return with the good news. I got my PPR two hours ago. Thanks for the support bro. To @bigfido, your inspired many here with your experience.
I will also like to thank everyone in this community. This is where I got most of my resource from. I have directed a lot of my friends here. There is nothing you need that hasn't been discussed here. Just be prepared to read.
duntano: Hello everyone. I would like to know if there is anyone in Nova Scotia here. We have not gotten our PPR yet but by Gods grace before the end of November. We are PNP and as I would like to know how the life is over at Nova Scotia. I haven’t seen any one talk of Nova Scotia here. Any help will be appreciated
Galaxxy: I submitted on October 28,2017 after my MSc(Maths) convocation at the University of Saskatchewan. I forgot to add this: My wife submitted Spousal Open Work Permit app since July 5 and we havent heard anything. That was why I even delayed submitting the app early to see if CIC Ghana was gonna answer but upon advices from Nairaland and friends, I decided to submit the app on Saturday. She is included in the app and I did not withdraw her app since she is not the primary applicant.
Submit your App as a family. Once you get PR, the PA can land first without the dependent but they must go before the medical report expires which is one year from the day it was done.
tosinkay: Good day house, please i need an insight about this. During filling your express entry profile, you indicated that you are married but your wife is not travelling with you Immediately. Will this have impact on getting PR after getting your ITA?
omesanni: i have never been refused a UK visa but i have been refused US and schengen visa a couple of times. Also used to live in the UK before
Was schedule A uploaded upfront for those refusals? Call them as @feygbe advised or raise a CSE and ask for app status.
Feygbe: Hello. What is your stream pls? Also did you have any ADR for a police report?
I had ADR for FBI PCC and I was at IP1 for 34 days. I called and I was told my application was at Ottawa, I asked about criminality and I was told it was not yet done. Seemed strange to me as well. This was after I had uploaded the FBI PCC almost 3 weeks after the ADR.
Suddenly, I moved to IP2 without the NA2 phase. I never called back to ask if it has been done.
Yes, hubby is the PA and we want him to go first to sort out school for the children, get a job and rent apartment. We can then join once the Children finishes this session.
XX01: Remember that the primary applicant has to land first or with the dependents. Dependent can't land before primary applicant.
