favouredbymercy: From that 5w bulb that died, it is obvious the thunder passed through the grid line into your house. I always say that grid is always d weak link of solar systems. I advice you put AC spd on both your input and output of your systems. And when it rains with thunders, REMOVE YOUR CUT OUT FUSE if you are connected to grid. I never fail to do such, cause thunder always passes through our grid lines when it thunders over here. Which one is cut out fuse? |

ajabani4allah: Does it still get hot enough to cook or boil if it is reduced to like 400w and below? We used 200w - 500w to warm food. 400w can do the job but it will take more time. When cooking we use min 800w - 1000w, and max 1200w - 1,5000w. I can tell you that it's faster than gas |

osayuwamwen: is this not infrared ? for clarity purposes on the induction cooker,1000watt on the induction cooker is actually 1000watt my refrigerator and fan was on that was what make it 1.3kw, but once the induction cooker is set below 1000watt the actual power draw will be fluctuating btw below the power set and above the power set on the induction cooker like example when u set at 800watt the actual power will fluctuate BTW 716watt to 1.1kw This is hot plate, the first one I bought 2015 lasted until 2023, then bought same (2 in 1) hot plate in same year and it got bad 2024. I bought "BUSHBURGH Intelligent Infrared Electric Stove - 3500W" 28-11-2024 and have been using it without issue. bushburgh-intelligent-infrared-electric-stove-3500w-230452408.html Check jumia After you power it, the lowest "Function" button consumes 2,200w, other buttons like BBQ consumes 2,500w but after each button you can reduce it to 100w. Highest is 3,000w not 3500w as written. I use regular pot. Technically I don't think those with less than 2500w inverter can use this infrared Stove, but it's highly recommended if you don't want induction cooker. I think earlier test I did in 2024 shows you can boil 4ltrs water (< 12 mins) if you set it 2500w. But the Sockets get burned often, then I changed to metal original A&Bt socket and 5kva Century Stabilizer started melting. Highest I use now is 1500w which is more than enough. (Buttons and Consumptions Shown on the Stove) STIR FRY: 3,000W BBQ: 2,500W STEAM: 2,800W FUNCTION: 2,200W I however noticed after continuous 4 - 5hrs on 1500w, the infrared Stove goes off to protect itself. Then I allow it to cool for max 10min and continue usage. |

Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by TechGeek777: 8:55pm On Feb 01 |
Which model did you buy precisely? KA24DETT: Na you be efficiency baba. Three DC fans running all night are more efficient than even one AC fan. Most people don’t really understand how efficient DC fans are compared to AC fans — the energy savings can be up to 80%.
When I installed a solar system for my uncle (Big family ), I changed his house fans from AC to DC. Night usage dropped immediately:
Before (AC fans): Average 60W per fan × 5 fans × 12 hours = 3,600 Wh per night
After (DC fans): 25W per fan × 5 fans × 12 hours = 1,500 Wh per night
That’s about 2,000 Wh saved every single night — power you don’t have to drain from your battery bank.
Automatically, your system now needs:
smaller batteries
less inverter stress
fewer panels
This is why I always push DC fans. You save everywhere from Day 1.
Qasa AC/DC fan on Jumia is around 60k. Maybe cheaper in the market. You will save the cost of purchase on batteries and panels from Day 1.

Forrkke: My Sako inverter has been displaying two error codes today.
Error 51 (overcurrent or surge)
Error 58 (Output voltage is too low)
The persistent one is error 58, nothing is coming on.
I've disconnected all inputs and outputs, as well as the battery. It's still the same thing.
What could possibly be wrong? Search for Sako service centre online and take it to them. How many kva and model is your Inverter? |

Collione: I want to take this opportunity to appreciate this group in my inverter journey. I love my set up so far. The 10kwh battery is monstrous for my daily usage so much so that I barely consume 10 percent every night with fridge and fan on and the Firman inverter is a champ although I'm still disappointed that it can't communicate via BMS still but I set the parameters as bulk 54.4v and float as 54.0v keeping my battery at 96 percent full charge not 100 though the recommendation is 55.2 bulk and 54.4 float. If anyone is able to communicate Firman with lvtopsun I'd like to hear it as it's important to me. God bless you all for your amazing work How much did you get the lvtopsun 10kwh? |

HeavenlyBang: Remind me how 1.5 HP is 1700w again? Real power draw is different from spec sheet based on many factors (length of pump to where pipes start from, wire Guage and wrong labeling of actual pump capacity). What most buy as 1.5hp is mostly 2hp pump. Ordinary this supposed to be 1.5kw, but above factors could make it consume upto 2.3kw in real usage compared to the typical 1.1kw you would seen boldly written on the body of the pump. |

loluskysat: @Techgeek77, what are you guessing? I told you what am using, you say you're guessing. When you said one plate, you didn't state explicitly if it's the big or small plate you are using. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by TechGeek777: 6:36pm On Nov 03, 2024 |
loluskysat: @ISJ: I'm a realist and not one of this textbook theorist. I test things and obtain the actual performance. For the 1000w inverter, we use it regularly to cook, but we use only one plate at a time and without any other devise on. The spec of the electric cooker is 2000w. We also use the same inverter to pump water using our 1hp pump. See, there is nothing wrong in using a device up to its rated capacity. They are actually designed to handle that rated capacity without problem and that is why it's stated, except if the device is fake or substandard. I guess you are using the small plate which is 800w - 860w, the big plate is 1050w - 1210w. So your 1kw inverter should be able to carry the small plate of the burner but DON'T try it on the big plate. |

futurenix: Ok. If it's a malfunction it probably would have repeated again cause it's over 6 months now and I have been checking it. The battery has a breaker and a reset button and BMS shuts off after 48hrs of putting off the breaker. How that BMS did that extra counting just within that period is what I still don't know.
Maybe U can try to test and keep your pack locked in a car for 4 days during the dry season let's still check at that over 170 degrees if the count will be audio.
This is a section of Eve 280k datasheet. U can only get 2500 cycles at 43°C from that sheet. I would drop this value to 40°C and 2000 cycles then assume worst case scenario.
If you can't maintain 23-25°C don't expect any 6000 cycles. I know many won't agree with you, but they can't know more than the manufacturer anyway. 2500 cycles is expected at 43°C - 47°C. Since the average weather in most part of Nigeria is 27°C - 40°C, we should expect (2700 - 4500 cycles); this result in 7-12 years if cycled daily. |

ojesymsym: Infrared does not have a motor so I haven't noticed any surge.
It just does its work quietly. I then to use 600W though.
Yes, all pots. An induction cooker will not even start to heat if it does not find a magnetic pot on top of it, an infrared cooker heats up as soon as you put it on, so even if you put plastic e go melt am for you.
Talking about surge sef, it was even my induction cooker that was tripping off my inverter the small time it agreed to work. Not sure why this is so though. Thanks for this, it means infrared cooker works like hotplate. The one I posted is from jumia, about 31k with shipping. |
