dejidotun2000: I have installed 3 units of the 3KVA, 24V model. I have nothing to complain about regarding them. One of them for hit by lightning and died, I have taken it to the the distributor and waiting for feedback. Thanks for your input, was the dead inverter connected to earth? |

androsurf: Is this your model -> HF2430S80-H?
Yes
What's the No Load Power Consumption?
Approximately 45w 45W is in accordance with stated Idle consumption <=50W. Nice inverter, I just hope they will honor warranty. Is there a reason you did not add a 6th (550w) panel to make the Maximum output power of 3300w for the pv? Do you know if your installer followed the inverter manual stated Breaker sizes and wire gauges? |

androsurf: My battery is a Lifepo4, I do connect fridge and freezer while pumping at noon.
My setup is 24v. 5*550w Canadian solar panels, and my battery is 228ah (24v pack) lithium.
I didn't do the connections myself, I have a close relative installer who did that. But I believe he connected earthing wire to the inverter, and it's the one made for the mains (even though I'm not connected to mains anymore, I'm fully offgrid). Nice setup though. Is this your model -> HF2430S80-H? What's the No Load Power Consumption? |

androsurf: Hi boss, the inverter is working great. No issue whatsoever.
I'm using it to power my freezer and fridge (not inverters ones), 0.75 interdab submersible pump (during the day), lighting, fans, laptop and other small stuffs. However, I haven't gone over 50% load capacity yet since I've gotten it. Nice one, thanks for update. Did you connect all the listed Appliances at same time? Did you also connect the inverter to earth system/grounding? Are you batteries Lead or LIFEPO4? |

isangjohnson: I read positive review about it but it seems hybrid version of 3.5kva/48v is not in the markets. I saw transformer based but I'm afraid it idle power. My Felicity Inverter 3.5kva/48v consumed 85w on idle power and I need replacement.
Any review on TBB 3.5Kva/48v? Does tbb have 3.5kva 48v, please which model is this? I am doing some hypothetical calculations based on the maximum output power for first 30mins |

Valto: some people fail to learn. in this RE world, most times u will get, what u pay for i was once a victim of 2pcs fake 400w panels. it affected the overall performance of the other 6pcs 380w panels mixed with it, until i replaced it with original Canadian solar 370w panels. now my 3760w of panels are doing wonders! it even produced an instantaneous 4160w recently. Nice production, do you mind stating your battery bank, inverter and CC used for this setup? |

Also are their datasheets available...this will make me choose one over the other. Sometimes one might want to compensate a hybrid installation with a seperate controller..
Currently load consumption is 15kwh plus...appliances run for 10hrs Crown Ricco Plus / Grovolt 3.5kva (Standalone) - No Load <= 35W, AC charger 20A-30A Felicity 3kva IVCP-3024 or IVCM-3024 or Zinox ipowerplus 3kva (all 24v), No load < 35W |

Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by TechGeek777: 6:00pm On Jul 24, 2023 |
obitobe: I have read through the response and one thing I see you failed to ask was weather condition before arriving that the panels are fake. I feel an input voltage of 72v and charge current of 35A is good for a flooded lead acid battery. Knowing well that the battery the poster mention requires 12A normal charging current, so getting 35A should be able to charge the batteries very well. Unless he is drawing more than required. My brother without been told, you will know those are fake panels. How can 2700w produce less than 1kw instantaneously and you say it's not fake? Don't you think you should have added your input rather than accusing me of what I failed to do? Is this how you people accused Nigeria govt for failing to provide job for lazy youths? |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by TechGeek777: 2:22pm On Jul 24, 2023 |
Papamirah: Day time : about 600W (9am-3pm) Evening : about 200W ( 3pm-10pm) Night: about 100w (10pm-9am) If the watts stated here is per hour, the panels are definitely fake. If it's comulative, the batteries should be checked. In all contact your installer. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by TechGeek777: 10:19pm On Jul 23, 2023 |
Papamirah: the system is 24v and yes 3S3P So many things may be wrong here. First your Felicity 60A CC can only give 1650w @ 24v and your battery bank is 24v 440Ah. With 24v system, you can't efficiently charge those batteries if you discharge them too much. Secondly, your so called 300w Canadian panels could be Alaba dubious categories of panels, hence they are not able to charge your battery efficiently. If you derate the batteries to 180Ah and discharge based on 30%, your current panels might help to charge them well. Thirdly, you didn't state you daytime and night consumption. Verdict, you may have to get 48v inverter to retain your 60 CC, and reconfigure you batteries to match 48v system. OR Get 120A CC to match the panels for your 24v system. Look into the orientation of your panels if they're actually real Canadian. If this is not a DIY setup, I suggest you call your installer. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by TechGeek777: 8:45pm On Jul 23, 2023 |
Papamirah: Hello House please I need your input, I have my setup up as follows
60A felicity charge controller with 145vdc Afriipower inverter 2500VA 4 Hausstorm Tubular batteries of 12v x220Ah( Flood LA) 9 Canadian solar panels 300w (32.2V, 9.31A)(connected in parallel) 10mm wire.
Now my concern is that my max input panel voltage is 72v, max charging current 35A and the max Wat is about 960w I have ever seen on the charge controller. Shouldn't the wattage be more than that?. Will this charge my batteries well considering that I run the solar setup for 22 hrs and run my gen for 2hrs a day before I go to bed.
how can I completely eliminate the gen running considering the current reality. Is your inverter 24v or 48v? Are you Panels connected on 3s3p? |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by TechGeek777: 8:42pm On Jul 23, 2023 |
Bgee77: What happens if solar panels watts exceed the MPPT charge controller, where voltage and current are okay? The CC will clamp the power to it Max wattage capacity, provided you don't exceed the VOC. You may have to state your intended pv array and the CC for better advice. |

Drgreatone: I have a small 1kva inverter system connected to the mains directly, i try as much as possible to switch off all heavy loads before switching it on. Pls what device can i connect to the output to prevent this overload happening again? Contact @Zeestone99, he sell device for that purpose. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by TechGeek777: 12:35pm On Jul 22, 2023 |
Penuelseun: When battery is full, the charge controller reduces charge current while maintaining battery voltage, if load is connected, the load will be powered entirely by solar until load demand is greater than what solar can produce then battery supplies energy again. It is an entirely different case if mains power is present as your inverter will change power source to mains thereby ignoring solar unless it is user editable to prioritize solar over mains power Thanks, this is detailed enough, but I will appreciate others to add to it. Once again thanks, as this is what I was expecting but I need to confirm from those with hands-on experience. |

Jefferyzz: I had to check back on our conversation. Can you snap ur CC screen where d amps is displayed. I want to know if the 9a is the panel output or your CC's output Hello bro, how does your LiFePO4 battery act when floated with your Crown Ricco Plus inverter, does BMS shut power from CC and power the load via battery power? OR Does it leave the battery in a floated state and allow power to pass through CC > BATTERY > LOAD? Note: This question applies to when Load is connected and pv is available during the day! |
