Will suggest you go for 24v 100Ah, which will give you 2.5kWh.

If fund is not an issue, buy 1 extra panel and tell him to run 3s3p

3 300watts panel, VOC is abt 39v all connected in series. Max I av gotten with it is abt 350watts. (Max amps like 3 to 3.5 from Isc of abt 9 and Volt is abt 110v). Feel I should be getting better yield though but guess that's the system limitation

2kva SMS Sunmate Inverter has 240vdc as the minimum operating voltage, and your panels are 117v combined, don't you think it could be that reason for poor yield?

Still running it through its paces and so far so good. Only issue i have is it's slow charging via solar when load is on. Doesnt do so with NEPA

SMK inverters are bad. A friend bought two and the two had problems in months.

Agreed, one top user here wrote years ago that it doesn't charge with Generator.

What happened to the smk? What was the setup like with it in terms of protective devices/panels seeing as its just the inverter that got bad and needs replacement from ur submission. That wud help in advising u further.

I have mismatched panels of 2s1p . Infact they were so mismatched that the 190w had 42v and 2 other 350w were 34v each with Ethernet cable of 78ft garnished with 5 joining points . Still it produces an average of 16a on a 12v system. I can say my area is one of the worst place to go on grid.Despite all the loses, my freezer, washing machine, tv etc were happily working then for almost 2yrs. Now, imagine the pv with the shortest distance and with right thickness of cable.

Solar journey can never be perfect. So far it is better than Phcn and generator especially this time.

You shouldn't go broke just to power essentials.

If u use 6mm cable with the parameters u dropped, u will AV 4.6% reduction. Not that this is bad considering d cost of cable at the moment

It is a single 550w panel. I dont really know much about orientation. I just placed the panel outside. I am waiting to get one more before putting it on the roof. My controller is a 40A HQST MPPT Charge controller. Can you please shed some light on the orientation. Maybe that could be one of my issues

I believe Max 25 Deg is allowed for optimal performance of the panel.

My Jinko panel is clean. It is brand new. So no dust on it yet. Just 3days old and I have been taking the reading over the course of three days. Good shinning sunlight. Yet the max I am getting is 270w out of the Jinko 550W

You didn't state the configuration, also is it 24v or 48v?

I use same inverter and its being doing okay. Like someone commented above, doubt if the grounding of the house is active. The inverter also isnt grounded from the pics. Some of this earthing issues only pop up after u install an inverter and it has to be corrected for safety reasons

I've gone to install an external CC and the series issue has stopped. Everything is fine now.

How many amps should a 300*3 mono solar panels produce at peak Sun?

Does it mean the inbuilt CC in sms sunmate is not good?

Meanwhile, I got one of Valto's battery (12v 135ah with Bluetooth enabled BMS) for a friend last year, and the guy has really been enjoying the battery.

But for about a week, there has been an issue. Previously, it was cutting off power supply at 30%, probably to protect the battery, and our expectation was that the cut-off period would reduce with more usage. It did reduce to 20-something, but recently it cuts off at 62%, giving just a few hours of use. Below are screenshots of the BMS interface on his phone.

Is anyone experiencing this? And how did you resolve it? The guy really needs an update

You see this statement. This is what gets me angry. This is why a lot of Nigerians have such a high distrust for anything inverter/solar and Kazeem installers adding to it with poor service. After quoting and charging a client for labor and materials. You install a product that suddenly develops a fault NOT due to any user error, and yet are unwilling to go the extra mile to support the client. Most installers have this attitude of once i install anything for a client and i collect my money they can go to hell. Not knowing that an installation is an entry point to continuous patronage and good will that can last for years and bring even bigger rewards down the line. As an installer, you should ensure that materials you buy are original and comes with guarantee/warranty from the suppliers for their products. No client wants to hear that they are on their own when it comes repairs and warranty claims. As e dey pain you now to remove money to resolve this issue, so did it pain the client to cough out his hard earned money to pay you for a quality service. In business some days you win some days you lose. But always try to treat your customers better and try to resolve their issues.

Boss, Nigerians want to win everyday and put the blame on dollars and bad government.

Any happy client will ALWAYS return with more jobs/recommendations.

As a professional installer, you just don't look at the monetary amount/value alone. Consider the customers satisfaction also. Trust me, both you and the customer will be more happier in the future if you deliver a more satisfactory work today. That's how you get more recommendations.
