Please, I will appreciate it if this can hit front page...... I am an MTN subscriber with phone number 08030735691 and I have done my registration in MTN OFFICES several times due to so called mistakes on their part because one way or the other their system keep having problems with keeping records..... I really don't know if that should be my problem though, but I keep going to their offices out of my tight schedule to re- register, because I am a medical doctor..... to my greatest surprise MTN disconnected my line yesterday evening 14/10/16 without a prior warning or anything....... the annoying part was when I got to their office where I had done the registration 3wks earlier, they had no reason for disconnecting me and they weren't even sorry about it, I ended up re-registering for the fourth time....... I feel we are actually living in a jungle where there is no respect for law.... these people dare not do this in the UK or US let alone their own country, yet they come to our country and keep doing as they wish as if they are above the law...... what if I was in the middle of nowhere and I needed to make an important call, what if I had an emergency in the hospital and my attention was seriously needed? I would have lost a patient or even worse......... please I need this to get to the front page, so that people can see how these idiots keep violating our rights in our country and go scot free........

It's such a shame that a whole MTN Nigeria cannot keep an effective database. One or two information keep deleting from their system.
I pity businesses that offer data management services with them, if they have such services.
EDIT: YES, MTN does have data hosting and management services (see link below). For the love of Christ, if you are thinking of patronizing such service, better run away. Since they cannot afford to safeguard common sim registration data, how much more valuable company data! You've been warned!

PoliticsRe: Pages 5-7 Of 3rd Interim Report Of Pres. Cttee On The Audit Of Defence Equipment by tee10: 12:12am On Jul 15, 2016
presidency:
PRESIDENT APPROVES FURTHER INVESTIGATION INTO NIGERIAN ARMY PROCUREMENT SCANDALS

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the recommendation of the Committee charged with investigating the Defence Equipment Procurement from 2007 to 2015, for further investigation of those involved, after the committee found a number of irregularities in the contract awards.

The approval followed the Third Interim Report of the Presidential Committee on the Audit of Defence Equipment, which was released on Thursday.

Among those to be investigated are 18 serving and retired military personnel, 12 serving and retired public officials and 24 Chief Executive Officers of Companies involved in the procurement. All were either accounting officers or played key roles in the Nigerian Army procurement activities during the period under review.

Those listed for further investigation include two former Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. O.A. Ihejirika (Rtd) and Lt.-Gen. K.T.J. Minimah (Rtd); former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs II, Dr Nurudeen Mohammed and three former Permanent Secretaries in the Ministry of Defence - Mr. Bukar Goni Aji, Mr. Haruna Sanusi and Me. E.O, Oyemomi.

Also, the CEOs to be investigated include Col. Olu Bamgbose (Rtd) of Bamverde Ltd; Mr. Amity Sade of Doiyatec Comms Ltd and DYI Global Services and Mr. Edward Churchill of Westgate Global Trust Ltd.

According to the Committee, the total amount spent for procurement and operations within the period were N185,843,052,564.30 and $685,349,692.49.

It found that the Nigerian Army Contracts awarded by the Ministry of Defence for the period under review were often awarded without ''significant input from end-user (Nigerian Army) and to vendors who lacked the necessary technical competence''.

''As an example, 3 contracts with a total value of N5,940,000,000.00 were awarded to DYI Global Services Ltd and Doiyatec Comms Nig. Ltd (owned by the same individuals) for the procurement of military hardware including 20 units of KM-38 Twin Hull Boats and 6 Units of 4X4 Ambulances fitted with radios. The committee found that the 2 companies collected N5,103,500,000.00, representing 86% of the total value of the 3 contracts worth N5,940,000,000.00, but only performed to the tune of N2,992,183,705.31,'' the report said.

The committee also found that a contract worth N169,916,849.77 for the procurement of 53 Armoured Vehicles Spare Parts, with 90 days completion time, is yet to be completed 5 years after.

With respect to contracts awarded directly by the Nigerian Army, the Committee found that many of the contracts were characterized by ''lack of due process, in breach of extant procurement regulations and tainted by corrupt practices.

''In this regard, a review of the procurement carried out by Chok Ventures Ltd and Integrated Equipment Services Ltd established that between March 2011 and December 2013, the 2 companies exclusively procured various types of Toyota and Mitsubishi vehicles worth over N3,000,000,000.0 for the Nigerian Army without any competitive bidding.

''Though the committee found no credible evidence of delivery of the vehicles, the vendors were fully paid based on job completion certificate authenticated by the then Chief of Logistics. Also, analysis of the various bank accounts of the 2 companies showed transfers to individuals related to then Chief of Army Staff,'' the report said

PoliticsRe: A Question About President Buhari's Mercedes-maybach S600 That Needs Answers by tee10: 10:18pm On Jul 05, 2016
naptu2:
People have been asking that question for as long as I can remember.

President Shagari bought a heck of a lot of black W126 S Class Benz for CVU in the early 1980s (they replaced the green W116 that were used by the military). He also bought a stretch W123 for the ground fleet. The W126 was nicknamed "Shagari Benz" by nigerians. People severely criticised Shagari because of the number of luxury cars in the CVU fleet. It was one of the reasons why he was hated by many nigerians.

Buhari and Babangida cut back on such luxuries when they came to power, but Babangida soon started spending like crazy. Nigeria hosted the OAU summit in 1991 and Babangida bought several (some say 25, some say 50) stretch W124 Mercedes Benz limousines to convey the heads of state that attended the summit. Some of the limousines were kept at the CVU depots in Lagos, Enugu and Kaduna after the summit. Babangida was also severely criticised for buying those cars.

Obasanjo felt that CVU was an unnecessary waste of resources, so he decided to sell the depots in Enugu and Kaduna and all the cars in Lagos, Enugu and Kaduna, but Yar'Adua reversed Obasanjo's directives.

President Jonathan planned to buy new Mercedes Benz S600 Maybach (W222) for the ground fleet (in Abuja) and BMW cars for CVU, but President Buhari reversed the plan. He said that there was no need to buy any new cars.
Sheer excess luxury

I don't think the Queen of England has long fleet of luxury cars in her various palaces

Certainly the U.S president does not enjoy such luxury

We should be more. Prudent

Thanks 4 d insght...I presume u very close to d action in d presidency

I get your point. The armed forces flag is useless at the point it is mounted on the official car of a civilian President because the agency which it evokes, is that of dictatorship not democracy.

My submission is that a party's flag (whether APC or PDP or HOPE or whatever) attached to an official car of the President is a marker of the place of democratic leadership in the country. Seeing it stand side-side the national flag would no doubt inspire more confidence in the democratic practise of the country.
You are flat out wrong.

The Nigerian president is also the C-in-C, ie commander in chief of the Armed forces, just like the United states president

That means he give d final word on combat and operations of the armed forces hence the armed forces flag

Putting a political party flag on a pubic property is wrong and shows narrow partisan thinking

Who is turning the law Upside down? FayOle used embezzled money to give himself an unfair advantage in election. He is being investigated based on that. No immunity protects him from an electoral investigation. So no Absolute Immunity. Very simple.

I have answered you unless in your opinion Tax Forgery Case against Ikpeazu is not Criminal.

If immunity covers that circumstance, the charges would be automatically suspended till the end of his tenure.
The case a Ikpeazu is not criminal. I see the source of ur confusion now.

The planitiff only advers that a criminal offience was commited in d processing of electoral process

Individuals don't institute criminal proceedings in Nigerian

The STATE/ DPP/ EFCC or other agents of state does! U goffed

Its purely an election matter: ie whether an individual was validly elected Governor

AntiWailer:
On your first line, adding abuse to your argument does not make u appear smarter.

ANS to your question : Yes you can. Forgery against Ikpeazu which is still fresh is criminal and also affects the selection process before elections.

Provided you can establish that it gave him undue advantage during election or selection process.

That is why electoral fraud was singled out.

Absolute is synonymous to : complete, total, utter, out-and-out, outright, entire, perfect, pure, decided;

Case :

1. Buhari in court

2. Ikpeazu's tax clearance case
The above are all examples of electoral matters
Which has been settled by the supreme court as far back as Awolowo vs shagari

Stop dancing round the question!

Tinubu in 1999 had a case instituted against him by some of his business associate, why was it throw out when he became Governor?

Do u need more examples?

Again I ask can any civil or criminal case other than electoral matters be entertained against a serving Governor giving d particular provisions of Section 308?

So what has Falana said wrongly ?

Gani Fawehinmi challenged Tinubu. The case is being reffered to.

I don't get your point.
Unless you have a problem with comprehension

Electoral matters are generic, mick and falana and I agree on that!

That you can sue a governor on electoral matters is settled LAW!

Question is: can u maintain a criminal charge against a sitting Governor giving d express provision of Section 308 of 1999 constitutions as amended?
PoliticsRe: Falana Goofed On No Absolute Immunity Submission, Ozekhome says by tee10: 11:23am On Jul 04, 2016
AntiWailer:
See forget Politics .

FALANA is very correct. Without just ranting, let me explain with examples.

One of his point is that the immunity does not cover electoral crimes.

1. Buhari was in court for his certificate issue cos it affects his election.

2. Ikpeazu was in court because of tax papers that affect his election

3. Gani Fawehinmi took Tinubu to court independently over Toronto Certificate forgery.

4. Sitting governors are tackled from Tribunal to supreme Court despite immunity.

1, 2 and 3 are not electoral petitions. They are suits against people who enjoy immunity but the suit was entertained because it can be categorised as an electoral crime.

So we dnt need a PHD in Law before you know WHAT falana is saying is simply the truth.

"No absolute immunity in our Law. If there is, Ikpeazu wont be running helter skelter, looking for court injunction"

Mike is a PDP lawyer and infact he is currently defending Fayose.

So I dnt expect him to take another position.

It is only victims of headlines that will scream.
That a Governor can be sued on electoral matters is not in dispute

Can the EFCC or indeed any body sue a serving Governor in light of Section 308 is what in dispute?

Once in a while to promote d frontier of knowledge on this platform it with be great if folks can drop narrow partisanship

Nigerian and indeed d constitution is bigger than APC or PDP
