The fact that you have a pending immigration petition does not matter to us all that much. It's perfectly okay to be a student visa holder and have a pending immigration petition. That fact is really irrelevant to your case, especially considering you've already received a student visa from us. I see people on these forums writing that you can't have both and that you're going to get in trouble, and that just highlights to me why it's a bad idea to ask for specific legal advice from the general public instead of, for instance, asking a Visa Officer.*

Based on what you've written here, and given that you have an open student visa renewal application, it's doubtful that you would qualify for parole.

*No offense to all the good people who are offering each other advice and encouragement. It's just that every once in a while there's some misinformation out there.

the issue is you probably might not be asked for documents, the last time I went I was doing my postgrad degree, I went with letter from my school, my i.d card, my account statement, my mum's account statement (because I filled my parents as sponsor),property documents(deed of assignment,governors consent, c of o) and pictures, well drawn budget, letter of consent and sponsorship from my mum,a personal introduction letter etc but none of those documents were checked, so i'm saving myself the stress this time around, and i'm taking just account statement and the others I mentioned and they probably might not be checked, I think the attitude and composure and dressing as well as how well spoken you are concerning what you filled in your ds-160 is what they are most likely going to consider over documents. Try to look like what you filled in your ds-160.

i'm going with only account statement, appointment confirmation and ds-160 confirmation, a copy of my fiancé's visa copy and biodata too because I filled in that we are travelling together and just incase i'm asked.

The essence of this thread is to help people get their visas and not to spoon feed them. Anybody that clearly has no interest or aptitude to do a little research is not ready for the process. So I ask again y bother? Chloe you don prepare finish? When is ur date sef?

Happy new year everyone. I arrived Toronto safely yesterday via Ethiopian airline. Longest journey of my life. 24 hours travel time was a bit too much for me. But I thank God for a smooth flight. Temp was -5 which wasn't toooo bad. The immigration queue at the airport was dreadful and took about 2 hours. I thank God it went smoothly. Today I plan to get cracking getting sim, opening bank account, social security and driver's license.

I think i will prefer the USA to Canada....Yes i am going with my family,because i am thinking that bringing them few months after departing will not be easy as it seems, because if she is coming she need to prove to the VO that she will be coming back, at the moment she does not have a job to use as a tie to her home country.. correct me if i am wrong,
