UEFA has launched an investigation after Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara and the club's other black players were audibly booed by children during the Europa League clash with Sparta Prague in the Czech capital last week. Sparta's supporters had been given a stadium ban for the racist abuse of Monaco's Aurelien Tchouameni back in August, with roughly 10,000 schoolchildren attending Thursday's match in their place alongside some adult chaperones. However, the Gers' black players were booed throughout the match and Kamara - who was the victim of a disgusting incident of racist abuse against Sparta's city rivals Slavia last season - was given a particularly hostile reception every time he touched the ball. Barcelona has released a ‘financial due diligence report commissioned by the current board of directors when they took office in March 2021, shedding light on the truly shocking state of affairs. The new regime, led by president Joan Laporta, wanted an in-depth analysis of Barça’s condition from the start of the 2018/19 season until March 2021 when they took over the running of the club from the previous board headed by Josep Maria Bartomeu. Barça chief executive Ferran Reverter has now publicly presented the findings, which has concluded there had been ‘serious administrative deficiencies’ in the running of the club during those particular two years and nine months in question. Most damning of all is the use of the term ‘technical bankruptcy’ to describe the financial situation. Technical bankruptcy is defined by Investopedia as occurring ‘when a borrower is unable to make payment on a debt obligation but has yet to officially declare bankruptcy before a legal authority.’ That situation is listed as a consequence of the club having a negative net worth. The current board also described what they inherited: "debt and future liabilities amounting to 1.35 billion euros, with an urgent need for refinancing; zero operating cash flow, with difficulty to meet the payroll; widespread non-compliance with financial ratios, limiting the registration of new players and decision-making; deteriorated facilities and a Camp Nou in a precarious situation; an undervalued Espai Barça project with serious shortcomings; and a lack of governance and internal control, which made it difficult to control and manage the institution." European champions Italy will battle it out with Spain on Wednesday night at San Siro for a spot in the finals of the UEFA Nations League. The second international break of the 2021/22 season gets underway on Wednesday night and we kick things off with a blockbuster contest as UEFA Euro 2020 winners Italy face off against semi-finalists Spain in the penultimate stages of the UEFA Nations League. The winner will face either France or Belgium in the finals later this week. The past three years under Roberto Mancini have been nothing short of a dream for Italy. Having been crowned the champions of Europe earlier this year, the Azzurri will be relishing the promise of winning another title with a triumph in the Nations League has made it to the final four after topping Group A1 that also has Poland Bosnia & Herzegovina, and the Netherlands. As for form, Roberto Mancini’s men are unbeaten in a record 38 games and head into the semi-finals on the back of a thumping 5-0 win over Lithuania in a FIFA World Cup Qualifier, although it must be noted that Italy failed to win any of their four matches before that within 90 minutes, including the semi-final and the final of the Euro 2020. Spain, meanwhile, topped a difficult Group A4 that also involved Germany, Ukraine and Switzerland, to set up yet another semi-final meeting with Italy. Having lost out to the Azzurri on penalties at the penultimate stage of the European Championships, Luis Enrique and his men will be gunning for revenge when they step out at San Siro. Last month’s international break saw Spain lose 2-1 to Sweden in a World Cup Qualifier but they mounted a strong recovery immediately, going on to beat Georgia 4-0 and Kosovo 2-0. And La Roja will be aiming to carry that momentum into the upcoming clash and take a step closer to lifting their first major trophy since the UEFA Euro 2012. Ahead of this much-anticipated encounter coming our way from San Siro on Wednesday night, Team News & Tactics Italy In a major blow for Italy, star goalscorer Ciro Immobile has withdrawn from the squad with an injury, as has the Atalanta duo of Matteo Pessina and Rafael Toloi. Leonardo Spinazzola is still sidelined after the serious injury he picked up during the Euros. Roberto Mancini is expected to line his team up in a 4-3-3 formation on Wednesday with Gianluigi Donnarumma manning the goal. Defensive stalwarts Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini are expected to pair up at the heart of the Italy defence as usual, with the duo likely to be flanked by Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Emerson Palmieri. The latter will have the licence to push forward regularly and his link-up with Lorenzo Insigne on the left can prove dangerous for Spain. At the base of the Italian midfield, there is no looking past UEFA Best Player of the Year, Jorginho, who will be aiming to add the Nations League winners’ medal to his collection as well. He will be tasked with breaking up play and shielding the defence and setting the tempo for Italy. Nicolo Barella and Marco Verratti will be the remaining two midfielders for the Azzurri. Federico Chiesa, who was one of the stars in the Euro success and has started the season well for Juventus, is a nailed-on starter on the right flank while the same applies for Insigne out on the left. With Immobile unavailable, Moise Kean is in line to start as the No.9 for Italy with Giacomo Raspadori an option from the bench. Probable Lineup (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Di Lorenzo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Emerson; Barella, Jorginho, Verratti; Chiesa, Kean, Insigne Spain Like Italy, Spain have also had some withdrawals from the squad as Pedri, Marcos Llorente and Brais Mendez have been sidelined with injury. In addition, the likes of Adama Traore, Jordi Alba, Dani Olmo, Thiago Alcantara and Alvaro Morata are other notable absentees. There have been call-ups for the uncapped duo of Yeremi Pino (Valencia) and Gavi (Barcelona). Luis Enrique will also set his team up in a 4-3-3 formation at San Siro, with Unai Simon likely to be retained in goal ahead of David de Gea in spite of the latter’s improved form for Manchester United. Pau Torres and Aymeric Laporte ought to form the centre-back pairing for La Roja with Cesar Azpilicueta and Sergio Reguilon lining up as the two full-backs on the right and left sides respectively. Sergio Busquets has not been in the best of form for Barcelona heading into the international break. However, given his experience, he will be a guaranteed starter in the middle of the park for Spain. The remaining two slots should be taken up by Atletico Madrid captain Koke, while young Gavi could be in line to start to provide the forward thrust from the centre. Up top, given the lack of a natural No.9 at Enrique’s disposal, Ferran Torres is likely to play through the middle as the false-nine, while support from the wide areas ought to come from Pablo Sarabia and Mikel Oyarzabal, with Pino likely to be an option from the bench. Probable Lineup (4-3-3): Simon; Azpilicueta, Laporte, Torres, Reguilon; Koke, Busquets, Gavi; Sarabia, Torres, Oyarzabal Form Guide Italy: WDDWW Spain: WWLLW Key Stats Italy are on a whopping 38-game unbeaten run since a defeat to Portugal in 2018 in the inaugural UEFA Nations League. This will be the 35th meeting between Italy and Spain. Of the previous 34, La Roja have won 12 games while the Azzurri have picked up 10 wins (12 draws). However, Spain have won only one of their last five encounters with Italy – a 3-0 triumph in a World Cup qualifier in 2017. Should he feature on Wednesday, Lorenzo Insigne will be making his 50th appearance for Italy. With 10 goals to his name, he is the highest goalscorer for the Azzurri in the current squad. Player to Watch Federico Chiesa One year ago today, Juventus announced the signing of Federico Chiesa. From being an integral piece of Juventus’ domestic double to Italy’s Euro win. It has been a big year for Federico Chiesa, who, having made the switch from Fiorentina to Juventus has set course to superstardom. Since his move to Turin in the summer of 2020, the 23-year-old has been one of the best players on display in Serie A and that was the case at the Euros as well, as the winger, with his energy, pace and skills mesmerized fans and played a key role in his side’s success. Among Chiesa’s scalps during the Euros were Spain, with the former Fiorentina ace grabbing a fine goal in the semi-final against La Roja on their way to the shootout win. He will be hoping to make a similar impact for Roberto Mancini’s men in the coming week and help the Azzurri lift another international title. Prediction Italy home win or draw against Spain The last time these two teams played at the Euro semi-final, Spain should have edged Italy out, but were let down by some profligate finishing in front of goal. The Italians, meanwhile, showed great resolve to hang on, and eventually came out on top via penalties. It could be more of the same on Wednesday as well with very little to separate the two teams, with it being likely that the tie goes into extra-time yet again. However, given Spain’s poor record in Italy and their lack of experience and goals at the top – could prove their undoing yet again. Get your stats right and outcome Click here www.baboyo.com

Chelsea has reportedly joined Barcelona and Real Madrid in the race to sign 21-year-old Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland. According to a report by Catalan outlet El Nacional, the race to sign Erling Haaland next summer continues to intensify with every passing week. The latest club to have emerged in pursuit of the 21-year-old Borussia Dortmund forward is Chelsea, who will battle Barcelona and Real Madrid for his signature. Haaland has become one of the most highly sought-after players to have ever played the game since joining Borussia Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020. One of the most prolific forwards in the game, the 21-year-old has quickly established himself among the best players in the game at the moment. Haaland has started the 2021/22 campaign strongly as well, with 11 goals and four assists in just eight appearances so far. Judging by the steepness of his upward trajectory, it is hardly surprising that some of the biggest clubs in Europe are keen on securing his services at the earliest possible opportunity, with some of his suitors being Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Chelsea. Real Madrid has been hot on the trails of Haaland ever since his advent at Red Bull Salzburg and has continued to remain in the hunt for him over the last couple of years. The continued interest is understandable as well, considering they need to lay down a succession plan for Karim Benzema, despite his heroics since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. With that in mind, Real Madrid is plotting a summer move for Haaland, when the release clause in his Dortmund deal will come into effect. However, bitter rivals Barcelona are also interested in securing the services of the 21-year-old, and for good reason. You want the best of football analysis and predictions Click here www.baboyo.com

Ronaldo now has 180 caps for his nation It’s likely the 36-year-old has his eyes on the tournament for one last shot at winning the World Cup. The all-time top scorer in men’s international football could help his country qualify for the tournament with two games to spare, theoretically, provided Serbia slips up against both Luxembourg and then Austria. But back in 2015 he stormed out of an interview and said ‘I don’t give a f*** about Qatar’ when asked about the tournament. Then at Real Madrid, the Portugal captain was trying to promote a new range of headphones he had launched during a pre-season tour of the US. Ronaldo is set to face Qatar in an international friendly and could lead his side at the World Cup in 2022 Get the latest information and predictions Click here www.baboyo.com

There have been so many great players in the history of football. Pele won three World Cups with Brazil and scored hundreds of goals in his career. Diego Maradona also has a case when it comes to crowning the greatest player of all time, having done some extraordinary things on the football pitch. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have also cemented themselves as two of the greatest players of all time having shattered record-after-record in the past 15 years. But who is the best of them all? 90min.com has given their opinion on the 50 greatest players of all time. Follow this link to view the thought process behind their decisions. You can view their rankings below... 50. Luka Modric 49. John Charles 48. Robert Lewandowski 47. Jairzinho 46. Omar Sivori 45. Paulo Rossi 44. Paul Breitner 43. George Weah 42. Kaka 41. Lev Yashin Modric and Lewandowski haven't hung up their boots yet but have both made the list. Weah, one of the greatest African players of all time, makes the list just below Kaka and Russian legend Yashin. 40. Gunnar Nordahl 39. Sandor Kocsis 38. Kevin Keegan 37. Hristo Stoichcov 36. Gianluigi Buffon 35. Johan Neeksens 34. Xavi 33. Luis Suarez [ESP] 32. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge 31. Andres Iniesta Buffon, now 43, is still going strong at Juventus. He is relatively the best goalkeeper ever. Barcelona's incredible midfield duo, Xavi and Iniesta, are separated by just three places in 34th and 31st respectively. 30. Rivelino 29. Bobby Moore 28. Socrates 27. Lothar Mattheus 26. Ronaldinho 25. Ruud Gullit 24. Bobby Charlton 23. Guiseppe Meazza 22. Raymond Kopa 21. Romario Moore and Charlton, legends at West Ham and Man United respectively, both make the top 30. They were both inspirational as England won the World Cup in 1966. Ronaldinho, one of the most entertaining players ever, just misses out on a spot in the top 25. That seems a bit low, it must be said. Ronaldinho had his flaws and his time at the top was not long but he was a special, special player. 20. Eusebio 19. Marco van Basten 18. George Best 17. Zico 16. Franco Baresi 15. Ferenc Puskas 14. Paolo Maldini 13. Gerd Muller 12. Mane Garrincha 11. Alfredo Di Stefano Man United legend Best makes the top 20, just ahead of Van Basten. Maldini is the highest-ranked defender on the list, coming in at 14th. 10. Roberto Baggio 9. Michel Platini 8. Zinedine Zidane 7. Cristiano Ronaldo 6. Ronaldo Nazario 5. Johan Cruyff 4. Franz Beckenbauer 3. Lionel Messi 2. Pele 1. Diego Maradona There is so much to dissect here. How is Cristiano Ronaldo down in seventh? Of course, all those above him are incredible players. But the Portuguese legend deserves to be rated higher given his brilliance in the past two decades. He's scored the most goals in the history of the game and he's still going strong at the age of 36. Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder will do battle for a third time on Saturday night. Fury produced one of heavyweight boxing’s finest ever performances to destroy Wilder in February 2020 and become a world champion once again. Fury dominated their Las Vegas rematch from the first bell, flooring his opponent several times before his corner threw in the towel. His win had led to calls for him to face off against fellow British superstar Anthony Joshua in a huge undisputed title clash before AJ lost his belts to Oleksandr Usyk. After much debate, a date and venue for that era-defining fight was set but Wilder’s representatives took legal action to invoke a clause in his contract with Fury to secure a trilogy clash. A date for their third meeting was then made for this summer but that was put on hold with Fury sidelined after testing positive for COVID-19. The fight has now been rearranged and is nearly here… Fury vs Wilder 3: Date and time The trilogy bout is all set for this weekend, Saturday, October 9. It is taking place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with a full house of 20,000 fans set to be in attendance The undercard will get going at midnight UK time with the main event ring walks expected between 4am and 5am on Sunday morning. The WBC and The Ring heavyweight titles will be on the line Joshua had hoped to face the winner of Fury v Wilder 3 but his dreams of unifying the heavyweight titles next year have been left in tatters after he was outclassed by Usyk. Usyk was superb against AJ at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the two will now likely face off in a rematch in early 2022. Get the best of sport news and information on www.baboyo.com

The Swedish Superettan goes into matchday 24 on Tuesday night with a relatively tough match between Trelleborgs versus Landskrona. They are both considered title contenders regardless of Vaernamo leading the championship race. Trelleborgs is currently in sixth position in the Superettan League while Landskorna is fifth with both holding 37 points but goal difference separates them Landskrona is going into this match with loosing Four of their last six matches in the league matches. Regardless of Trelleborg being in better form than Landskrona, Trelleborg have had their fair share of back-to-back losses in games this league. Kristian Haynes’ Trelleborgs have been excellent at home this season. They have taken 23 points from 33 on offer. Trelleborgs have posted a +7-goal difference with 16 for and nine against. Landskrona have the third-worst away points total in the Superettan. They have lost six straight games in the league on the road. Just eight points from 11 have been taken by Landskrona on the road. The team’s goal difference away from home is –5. Landskrona are a top-five Superettan team due to their home form. They have taken 29 of their 37 points from home matches. How strong have Landskrona been at home? They claimed a 4-2 win at home earlier this season. Trelleborgs won four straight matches between these teams. Four of the last five games between these teams ended with over 2.5 goals scored. Three of the last four games between these sides saw both teams score. Tonight, Trelleborgs and Landskrona should combine for over 2.5 goals with both sides finding the back of the net. Landskrona have been sub-par away from home record and Trelleborgs should have had better outcomes at home, they need a home victory today to potentially move into the top three of the Superettan. We can easily predict that Trelleborgs will either win or draw this match. You want the best of match analysis and news? Click the link below www.babayo.com

Manchester City has been told to test Liverpool’s resolve with a bid for Mohamed Salah with the Egyptian dubbed the perfect signing for Pep Guardiola. Salah delivered a masterclass on Sunday as he set up a goal and scored a sensational solo effort in a thrilling 2-2 draw between the two title contenders at Anfield. Salah netted his 101st Premier League goal at the weekend. It means the 29-year-old has nine goals in nine appearances for the Reds this term, with six coming in the Premier League as he sits level with Leicester’s Jamie Vardy at the top of the top-flight scoring charts. Salah, however, is stalling on signing a new deal at the club with his current deal set to expire next summer, meaning he can sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in January. Super Eagles new boy Calvin Ughelumba Bassey has revealed it was his mother's dream for him to play for the West Africa nation. The 21-year-old Calvin Bassey, who plays for Scottish giants Rangers and can play as a left-back or centre-back, was handed his maiden Nigeria call-up by coach Gernot Rohr. The 23-man squad is preparing for this month's 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic. Despite being eligible to play for Italy or England, the youngster opted to grant his mother her wish. "My mother played a huge role in making me decide on playing for Nigeria," Bassey said as quoted by OwngoalNigeria "It has been her dream and I am glad she is alive to see it come to pass. If all goes well, she will likely follow me to Nigeria to see me in the colours of the team she loves for the first time." The defender was signed by the Scottish side from Leicester City when he was 19 years old. Nigeria will host CAR on October 7, before playing them away three days later. The three-time African champions will be without Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi and Watford star Peter Etebo, who are nursing injuries. Chelsea boss Emma Hayes says that she fears online abuse of players could lead to suicides within the game, adding she would "100 per cent" remove her squad from social media if she could. The Blues coach is the latest major figure in the game to speak out as the sport continues to reckon with the effects of abuse targeted towards individuals across the internet. Speaking at length, the four-time Women's Super League winner believes that more can be done to stamp out such actions. What has been said? "100 per cent," Hayes told CNN when asked if she would ban her squad's online presences if she was able to. "Yeah, I would if I could, but we have to live with it. "And if we're going to live with it, then those that profit from it should take responsibility. And if not, our national governments should force them to eradicate a culture of hate. "There is no denying there are vulnerable athletes with mental health issues across the board that - off the back of a bad game or off of being a woman, or being gay, or being of different colour, or ethnicity - experience vile, abusive messages that could certainly put them in a position where they could contemplate [suicide] Hayes calls for fast action A widespread social media blackout across the British game last year proved to be little deterrent to the wave of abuse that boiled up in the wake of England's Euro 2020 final heartbreak. Hayes further noted that without change, such incidents and the subsequent results will only snowball, stating: "We will be talking about the more severe ends of people taking their lives. "I have to live it every day. I have to manage young people and then the impact that has on them and their internal struggle, that translates into massive underperformance." Quit that job if it doesn’t make you happy Leave that Town for another if you don’t feel fulfilled Quit that relationship if you are not happy One thing constant in life is CHANGE ! Note : I’m not a Motivational speaker ! |
