I don't think they're prioritizing single dependants' visa applications right now. My partner is also already there and since July 20th application is still at DMC. They had not even made a decision as at last week Friday.

The Nigerian Legal system doesn't cater for a mutually agreed divorce. The Court has to pronounce that the marriage be dissolved on the petition of either of the couple (the petitioner). If the Court finds that the marriage has indeed broken down irretrievably, then an order of dissolution is made.

Once a marriage conducted under the Act is two years, you do not require the leave of Court to file a petition for the dissolution of marriage (or divorce papers).

Once the marriage has been consummated, the issue of sex or lack of it is no longer an issue so kindly ignore the advice to "stop having sex", it matters not.

You need a lawyer if you want to dissolve your marriage conducted under the Act, the Court must be the one to dissolve it even if both of you (the husband and wife) are in agreement. Kindly contact a lawyer for proper advice.

Im a lawyer. No she can't. The separation is enough to ground a divorce but until a court has divorced them, she stays married to the first husband.

A friend of mine recently got contacted for an agricultural product. Although he sells in little quantity on a local level.

However he picked interest in this client because he is a foreigner (not on a basis to scam him) but an opportunity to export on a larger scale but he doesnt know much about it.

He contacted a long time friend who is into this same business and has been asking questions how to deal with the client and convince him to buy.

Now the client has agreed to come down to Nigeria on a visit (first timer).

My friend's business is not registered and the foreigner has asked him to draft a letter of invitation for him which the Nigerian Embassy requires.
His Friend suggests he uses his own business company name since he has already registered.

The question is...

How possible is it that his friend will hijack the Foreign client since its his documents that is being used (Trust issues)

You don't need a lawyer if you're one of the proprietors or directors as the case maybe. However, in order not to run into complications with the registration, you're can have a lawyer do it for you and in no time too.
I'm a lawyer and I've seen people get stuck and still come to me eventually.
