ummsumayyah: Good evening all, for those who have served, where can you advice a sister who observes the full Jilbab due to the dress code on camp to serve? Heard some camps don't allow the knee length hijab while others do. Does osun camp allow the use of the knee length hijab? All your responses would be appreciated
I didn't stay in camp tho, buh during physical verification I was told the length of hijab I'm allowed to wear is knee length before I told them I wasn't staying. that's at ede, osun state.
AbdelKabir: Lol, I tried it just now and was able to do it after shortening the mudud(elongations) that is not compulsory by calling them as if I'm calling madd asliyyun i.e with 2 harakahs.....
*peeps in* like it's been a very long time and I actually miss this section. alhamdulilah @abdelkabir, I tried the method you explained and it worked out fine. Alhamdulilah, my recitation is going on well.
@mofpearl @zarinaian..how's d hifz going and hope life has been treating you well?
AbdelKabir: Before entering the aayah, try breathing in then hold your breath, read the aayah until you can no longer hold your breath, then breath out slowing whilst reading simultaneously....
That my might work if and only if you understood my explanation.....
I do get ur explanation. jazakumllah khayran. will let you know if it helps
zarinaAin: In the Quran, there are some signs or punctuation marks called waqf. They are found in the middle or end of ayaat and give us an indication of whether stopping and pausing is permitted or not
It is important to know the correct points to stop or continue during recitation in order not to change or distort the meaning of the ayaat
If you follow this thread from the beginning, I think Abdelkabir has treated something like this before
I know, but my mu'alim won't let me use them just yet. He insist on learning how to recite long verses first, before I start making use of the stop signs. I kept of complaining that it's not easy, but he no free and he kept telling me I'm just lazy. I only need to know how to cope bayi, although, I'm making efforts nd improving, but ko easy rara
Lol, I was just being sarcastic, I remember at the beginning of this thread, zarinaAin said she once tried to infuse apala tone into the Qur'an when she started learning how to read the Qur'an....
BTW she is familiar with apala and Fuji she is omo kaale ojiri...[/quote/]
oh! using apala for Qur'an got me laughing. sis zarinaAin, how did that sound?
AbdelKabir: Here is a plus for whoever wants to learn tajweed properly.....download "muqaddima al-jazariyyah" written by Muhammad ibn Al-jazariyyah Ash-shafee'i, its a book that has series of poems, pls do yourself a favor by memorizing all the poems, I also memorized it when I was learning tajweed and it helped me a lot.....also it has been translated for you so it will aid your memorization, download it HERE
Cc: zarinaAin, k4kenny, mofpearl, Aideesheks....
You can memorize it with any tone of your choice and sing it, that way you don't forget.....
Its not gonna be an easy task, but gaining knowledge has never been easy, you can be memorizing 10 lines at once.....
Empiree: Writer in the op continue to prove my point. First, all issues he raised as "excuses" for against maulud of the Sheikh(ra) make no sense. He talks about "traffics". Traffic, seriously?. Traffic that everyone goes through all the time especially in lagos. On the Day of Arafat another heavy traffic. On ileya another heavy traffic. RCCG from lagos to Ibadan and the list goes on. This is the same nonsense excuse given for forbidden protests or demonstrations (that people would 'miss' salat). So where is writer's sense? It is easy to spot writer's hatred.
# even if he wants to "correct" or "rectify" people, is it by rendering their leader useless and misrepresenting his name? Ibrahim is the name of nabi(as). Write it properly. This writer who calls himself someone of "sunnah" would write "ibro" in place of Ibrahim. Dont you all think he is mischievous too?. Is this sunnah way of correcting people?. Tell me how the same people he criticizes would take him serious?. Again, i feel sorry for Yorubaland. Writer's approach is very thurgery and vicious. Imagine christian writes "Mo" instead of Muhammad. A muslim should be offended by that. I see absolutely no wisdom in his approach.
# third argument are the pictures above used to back up op's claim. It is obvious those are kids. Ignorant kids/people doing their thing on the side. Why not take pictures from the main unit where maulud was being held rather than some side dudes displaying stupidity?. Do you actually think their appearances have anything to do with maulud itself?. This is equivalent to muslims on Eld engaging in "ram fighting". Is ram fighting part of Eld recommended in the sunnah?.
Absolutely not. Yet many of us love it regardless of how much islamic knowledge we have. On the same Eld in Ijebu-Ode for instance, the 3rd day of Eld which is "Ojude Oba", people fornicate, mix with opposite sex, do haram things yet these activities have nothing to do with Eld itself. I am yet to see any sense in writer's approach.
Yes, ESSENCE of sufism is "purification of soul" but unfortunately today, what we have is name but not sufism. In 20 century it was sufism without name. The same thing we say all the time. For instance, a chinese man said islam is more practised in non-muslim countries than Saudi. Asked why he said this?. He said Arab man approached him to make fraudulent products and sell it for original price. Is that Islamic?.
Now watch the video below. Assume, please just assume or pretend the gathering is sufism. Be sincere to yourself. What are you going to call this?. Won't you say they worship horus where they dance to the statue?
All pictures you took above prove nothing. Why not take pictures from their ulama where the real deal was taken place rather than crucifying them from afar?
Even the ones that make you want to get married immediately may not be as good as they appear[/quote
I believe no marriage is perfect and no two individual can ever be the same. it all boils down to how two people can perfectly manage their differences and see the best out of every ugly situation.
tintingz: Marriage is a beautiful thing no doubt but to some it is a disaster, the way some people pressure someone to marry you will think that marriage is like happily ever after like in Disney movies or soap opera.
I once argued with my boss a lady, she said those that are not married are regretting and I asked if some of those that are married are not regretting getting married? and I showed her news about domestic violence that led to killing/murder of some couples, she just kept quite.
Lol. and some people have really fell for the "happily ever after" theme. Our society needs serious overhauling nd orientation. The domestic violence part do weaken me. While some marriages would make you want to get married like immediately, some marriages would simply remind you not to smell anything marriage. May Allah grant us the best of spouse.
of course, marriage is beautiful with the right partner.
tintingz: Women are being pressured to marry early in Africa society, giving room for depression, low self esteem and rejection. Women that are not married are seen as useless, egoistic, proud etc. A lady in a thread even said "there is no respect for unmarried ladies" and i was like WTF! So a women must be married before she can earn respect from people? This is what african and religious women are programmed to believe in.
There is a report about a police woman that committed suicide because her fiancé dumped her, the lady in the picture is kind of chubby and she's 31 years of age, I'm very sure she suffered low self esteem and depression.
Marriage shouldn't be something to rush in because sometimes "the way one rush in is the same way he/she will rush out or continuing living in stoic syndrome".
I can relate with that. When it comes to marriage, especially with we females, the society doesn't help issues. Most times they fail to realize that we have our choice nd preference and it only takes the strong ones to defy societal pressures. it's sickening tho
tintingz: I use to be very against feminism/feminist, I bashed them in every thread(family section) but I later realized they are not ALL bad. There are good and bad feminist like every other people. So don't use your Troglodyte thinking to call educated ladies that stood for women right virus.
The great east virus are the terrorist among Muslims.
There are various strands of feminism and Africans now have their own version which ain't that bad. I believe by terrorist, you mean those killing in the name of religion, right?
