Hi parents.

Please I need help, my 9 years old son is very slow at learning. Not to say too much:

He started schooling at 2 ( from nursery)
I spend time to teach him and when I noticed I wasn't patience with his speed I hired a home tutor.
Aside the home tutor I still personally teach
I am not an absentee mother at allllll. There is hardly a day I don't teach him 1 or two things.


But

My son never assimilate, I teach him 1 thing for 1 year buy na lie he will forget it.


Am sad, am unhappy I have done all humanly possible, he is lazy, reading is had for him, 2 times table is war. To add 2 to 2 is war, I pay home tutors with no results. This is wastage, atimes I stop and I begin again. I pay extra for lessons at school no results.

Am crying and tired, I have no one one to help, am all alone in this. Am in pain, I don't know how long this will go. I don't want him to end up with poor grades and can't move on with school.

Am so scared and I don't know how this will end. Am weak and full of pain concerning this boy.

I need tips, I have used pictures, audio, video, YouTube, everything. I don't know if this is spiritual, I have prayed. Done all I could do. He can't even spell 3 letter words, it's that baddddddd.

Atimes I ask myself how years passed by that he hasn't still improved but looking back, I haven't rested all the years.

I think you can give him cold liver oil and one egg daily, they help brain a lot. I could remember my friend's daughter that was autistic when she was 5 months, my friend said a doctor recommended cold liver oil and the girl is normal now.

Well, I don't know why government will remove subsidy on education, especially university education I don't think is a good idea at all what benefit will citizens gain from this government with all the natural resources we have.

When I woke up this morning, that is what came to my mind, in this present economy university is not for the poor. My daughter that gained admission last year, it is now that I know that you can't compare the expenses with when they were in secondary school.
I don't understand, when you just pay some amount hoping to rest for sometime, they will just call you again for money everytime they pay money, I am now wondering if the university is a business company.

My son had hernia, I could remember whenever he takes sweet or drink one bottle of soft drink, his ball will be swollen and painful. I don't buy one bottle of soft drink for him but whenever he has chance to take it or sweet, it will trigger the hernia I could remember when he was a year plus whenever he cry, I used to give him stick sweet to stop crying so when I got to the hospital, I saw small children even below 3 years of age I don't want to talk much.

Please reduce sweet to the lowest, it is not good for their health, I didn't know initially until I went to general hospital and saw children with different complains it is not enjoyment at all. Also try to change what they take for lunch to healthier food, you wouldn't like the outcome health wise.

I was shocked when my son of 7 years ask for calculator from me to do his home work because he used to see his sisters in SS class using it, I had to worn him not to use calculator.

Having water in my compound, we suffer for water alot, sometimes we beg to get a small bucket of water. We always think where we will get the next water

Please Nairaland family, to those who have experienced this feelings before, how do you cope with yourself seeing your secondary school mates, past years neighborhood colleagues, your parents friends children and etcetera that you know; you see them doing well maybe some have traveled out of the country or still here in Nigeria doing awesomely. And anytime you come across their pictures or videos on social media you can tell they are doing well and you can also tell the life patterns they could be living might not be a circle ⭕ pattern.

I feel depressed when I see this. Like how can I also change my life 🧬 pattern and live a happy Life. I'm just here working 9 to 5 collecting minimum wage while my friends and colleagues and others are climbing higher.

Firstly, always appreciate God for keeping you alive whenever I go to general hospital for my son appointment with doctor, especially when you stand around emergency department, you will appreciate God for the condition you are presently. However there are some plans you can have for yourself this year.

Plan to join cooperative where you can save money and borrow three times of your deposit to do business, don't do unnecessary expenses, don't try to impress anybody, only pay for your basic needs

I thank God for keeping my family alive, I also want to use this medium to appreciate Clarendon, pocohantas and ishilov for their support on the surgery of my son', I appreciate them a lot, you people are Angels on earth.

Good evening sir, I have bought the milk and Golden Morn on my way coming home but I could not carry it with eggs and when I got home I tried to buy it in my street but it's not fresh and it might get spoiled before it finished I will get the eggs on my way coming home tomorrow.

Hello Telltruth123, I’m just checking to see how things are going at your end.

Thank you sir, he is fine and the ball is not swelling again, after the surgery on that Tuesday, we were discharged on Wednesday so we went there for dressing on Friday and the next Monday then on Thursday doctor checked him and removed the plaster so they gave us January 8 for appointment just to check him but he is fine and the surgery part is healing fine, if a person did not look very closely, you will not believe he did surgery. I really appreciate you sir.
