Here are excerpts from an interview which Prophet TB Joshua had with some journalists several weeks ago at The SCOAN Prayer Mountain. It was published today in This Day Newspapers.

QUESTION: What motivated the vision to create this Prayer Mountain, a ‘wilderness’ in an urban area?
ANSWER: This is where I started. I must have a library and a place where I can enjoy nature, not the air condition or fan, just nature as God created it. So, having nature around you is very good. God is nature Himself and without nature, you cannot understand the Bible. Because the Bible is not history; when you are reading the Bible, you are reading the Holy Spirit. So, if you don’t allow nature when you are reading, you will be reading history. You need some places like this – where you leave everything outside and come and hear the cocks’ crow. But outside of here, whatever they are doing, you can’t hear because of the noise. So, this place is very important to me – this is where I live, this is where I sleep and do everything.

If I want to meet people outside of here, I go outside. There is a time for that because the Bible says that there is time to rest and a time to work. Time to rest is time to receive from God and time to work is time to give what you receive from God. When you talk of time to rest, this is the best place to rest, not in the midst of technology or going to New York or travelling about but you rest in the midst of nature.

QUESTION - How did this Prayer Mountain start, given that this place was once a swamp?
ANSWER - This swamp is the rejected stone. God spoke to me and brought me here. I have been following God’s vision, God’s mission. When I am out of God’s mission, I am finished. That is why you cannot see me outside of here; you cannot hear me.

God’s time is the best and I always follow God’s time. So, I have been following God’s time; that is why you will not see me preach every Sunday or go on television to preach every day. I must hear from God before saying anything. Every time can be good for you and every time can be the best time for you but for me, I must have a corresponding grace or power because the Holy Spirit must suggest what to do before I do them. If not, I will not be able to have God’s result.

This is why you are not seeing me out there – at weddings, social occasions, coming to your offices to grant interviews. This is the only church – The SCOAN here in Ikotun. There is no other branch anywhere else in the world but it touches everywhere in the world. I am waiting for God to let me know if there will be branches or not; the important thing is that we should focus on building the people and not the church.

QUESTION – Why don’t you open up this place for tourists?
ANSWER - The people will soon get to know about it. We are just waiting for God’s time. There are many things to be done in this place. We are at about a 70 per cent completion rate. So, if people should know about this place now, we would not be able to complete this job because it will cause distraction. When we are at about 95 per cent completion level, we will let people know. It is going to be by grace. It is not something you pay money for; you can come and see people moving and praying. So, people will get to know; we are waiting for God’s time.

QUESTION – What do you have to say about your family and their involvement in the ministry?
ANSWER - I am very happy about this question. I have a wife and I have children. My first daughter is doing her PhD and my second daughter is doing her master’s degree. In all, I have three daughters. The last one is still in secondary school. I would have loved my wife to be like me but I cannot make her what I am; it is God. I can’t anoint her; God is the one that anoints people. This is not a biological issue; it is an inheritance from the saints - being a partaker of the inheritance from the saints. So, therefore, I should not use anything in my biological life to stop my spiritual life.
As for my divine nature, I am a partaker of the inheritance of the saints. This is an apostolic ministry; it is not a ministry where you read the Bible, go to theology school, get your certificate and you start preaching! No. It is purely divine. So, it is so difficult for me to display my wife, she has to be ready for God. As much as you are ready for God, God will display you.

QUESTION - How do you take such criticism that your ministry has faced?
ANSWER - It is always good if at the beginning they don’t see what is good about you. If they don’t see your journey at the beginning, they will criticise you. It is good for you in the end. So, if they praise you from the beginning, it is not encouraging. If Nigerians have been accepting me right from the beginning of my mission, I think that would have affected my mission to the world.

I have gone all over the world. I am the first minister of God that went to Nazareth, Israel where Jesus was born and organised a revival there and the news was carried in newspapers all over the world. After the crusade, a certificate was given to me by the State of Israel. That is the greatest joy for any minister of God!

QUESTION – But why was there so much controversy about the Nazareth Crusade?
ANSWER - Because it happened to Jesus, I cannot be greater than my Master. A tenant cannot be greater than his landlord. If the landlord is criticised, who is a tenant? That is exactly what happened to Jesus. They said no. The Muslims were on the streets protesting along with Christians, Catholics and all. But I let them know that God sent me to do the revival in Israel. And top Israeli government functionaries came. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also sent his representative.

A shocking video shared by DonJazzy and Falz on Instagram regarding a Nigerian man who narrated his heart-breaking encounter with a reckless police officer who shot his wife in the presence of their five children over N2,000 is currently trending.

According to Mr Godwin Sunday - who spoke on TB Joshua's Emmanuel TV - he was returning from a church service in 2015 with his family when police in Ijegun ordered him to stop and demanded the sum of N2,000.

Unable to provide the money, the police officer ordered him to return to the 'keke maruwa' he was driving when suddenly he heard a flurry of gun-shots.

Whilst one bullet pierced his jaw, leading to a serious injury, another hit his wife in the brain, killing her instantly. According to Godwin, who spoke during a church service at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), the incident particularly traumatised his young children who witnessed their mother murdered in cold blood.

After hearing of his ordeal, Prophet TB Joshua gave Mr Sunday the sum of N5m, alongside additional financial support from several other well-wishers in the church and international viewers on Emmanuel TV.

Although the story was narrated several years ago, it has re-emerged and gone viral in the light of the current #EndSARS protests engulfing the nation of Nigeria over the spate of police brutality.

"We want to fix this country so something like this doesn’t happen to you and your family," wrote DonJazzy on Instagram in response to the video, calling on citizens to not be angered by the inconvenience caused by traffic congestion in the wake of protests.

Fifty-one Nigerian deportees from Algeria, Libya and Niger unexpectedly thronged The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations on the 16th of October, 2020, seeking refuge after nearly losing their lives on a dangerous illegal journey to Europe for greener pastures.

Among them was Abdulrazak, a Law degree holder from Kano State who described his ordeal during the journey. According to him, after seeing the lavish lifestyle of the rich and famous on television, he decided to leave his nation believing that once he arrived in Europe, his problems would be solved. He sold everything he owned to make the long journey by road but even that was only enough to get him to Algeria. It was while attempting to cross the Mediterranean Sea to reach his final destination that he and his colleagues were rounded up by the police.

Consequently, their journey ended in a deportation camp. Having lost virtually everything, with no means of survival, the returnees made their way to The SCOAN and upon learning of their arrival, T.B. Joshua blessed them with a total cash gift of ₦3 Million. With their hopes rekindled, shouts of joy filled the air as the unexpected cash gift was announced and handed over to them. As the protests over police brutality engulfing the nation of Nigeria steadily grow in momentum, a video of TB Joshua prophesying a ‘revolution’ instigated by Nigerian youths has resurfaced on social media.

The video, which was originally aired seven years ago on July 14th 2013, shows Joshua sharing a revelation to the congregation of The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN), which he titled ‘Carry Your Youths Along’.

“I am seeing a revolution,” the cleric bluntly began, adding that “every revolution starts by protests”.

“I’m seeing people taking to the streets,” he continued, adding that the authorities would attempt unsuccessfully to quash the protests with police.

“You can stop protests but you cannot stop revolution. When it becomes a revolution, everybody is ready to die, so you can’t stop it,” he stated.

“It might be stopped at the beginning. Eventually, it will become so big that it cannot be stopped. This I see happen. Nigeria, pray,” he stated in the clip.

The cleric, however, proffered a solution, calling on the Nigerian government to actively engage its young people, recognising they are the “leaders of tomorrow”.

“God has given us the way out. The way out – job creation for the youth and the creation of a new social value system,” he said.

“No matter the education the youth have, they feel they have no place in politics and there is no job to keep them busy,” he continued, calling for a “new orientation” especially in the political sphere.

“In politics, the youth should be considered for important positions such as assistants to elders. While the elders are ministers, the youth should be junior ministers,” he advised. “By doing this, we are training them to take over tomorrow.”

The prominent cleric further reiterated his ‘shocking’ vision. “Revolution is a weapon of change that is coming. This is the vision I saw – revolution is coming when people will take to the streets because life has no value anymore to the people,” he said, adding that the “coming ominous signs are disastrous”.

Joshua appealed to those in leadership to “carry your youth along” in “politics and administration, especially in ruling your country”, adding that Nigeria’s young people “want to see themselves represented in every area of life.”

“When we carry the youth along, whenever there is a revolt, they will be available to readily speak to their colleagues,” he also noted.

The cleric insisted the revelation was “the voice of God” and “none of this will go without being fulfilled”.

“As sure as God lives, I, TB Joshua, will tell you only what God says. If I am hated, persecuted or intimidated because of my accurate prophetic messages, blessed be to God who gives the prophecy. The day will declare who is in the right and who is in the wrong, says the Lord,” Joshua concluded.

Since the outbreak of #EndSARS protests, Joshua is yet to make a public comment and his official social media handles have not referenced the unrest.

The protests, which have drawn huge crowds throughout Nigeria’s major cities, have morphed from insistence on the abolition of the notorious SARS police unit to impassioned calls for good governance and accountability among Nigeria’s politicians.

In the light of breaking news that US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania have tested positive to coronavirus, Nigerian cleric TB Joshua has reminded people on his social media platforms that he had declared 2020 would be a “year of humility”.

On December 28th 2019, after time at an undisclosed ‘prayer mountain’ in Nigeria, Joshua revealed his prophetic message for 2020 which he termed the ‘Year of Humility’.

“This year, the Lord will humble us with our challenges,” the cleric began. “Challenges can be affliction… To humble us with these is for those things to destroy us or expose us. Let us move closer to God,” he continued.

In the accompanying message – which has been viewed over 700,000 times on YouTube - Joshua prophesied details regarding several events that have subsequently shaped the course of the year.

These include the security implications of racial tensions in America surrounding the death of George Floyd, the killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani and the global economic backlash of the coronavirus outbreak.

In line with the cleric’s prophecy, the announcement of Trump’s coronavirus diagnosis has been universally acknowledged as a ‘humbling moment’ for the bombastic leader, who has consistently downplayed the virus and even mocked those who took preventative measures against it by wearing masks.

With elections just 31 days away, the news is sure to add further pressure on Trump’s re-election ambitions, already threatened in the wake of a wild debate performance with contender Joe Biden which sparked further controversy over his refusal to explicitly disavow white supremacists.

In the same prophecy, Joshua also spoke concerning the upcoming elections. "Approach to the security issue will affect the candidates and swing voters in the next election,” he stated. “It will be tough in the election. They should pray against a recount. It may be too tight."

It is not the first time TB Joshua has given a prophetic message concerning Trump. Four years earlier on November 6th 2016 - just before his surprise election victory - Joshua had warned of several impending challenges for the American leader.

"I can see that the boat of the new president will be rocked,” he stated in a video equally shared on the cleric’s Facebook page recently.
Commentators were quick to draw parallels with Trump’s current dilemmas. “Definitely Trump’s boat is being rocked,” wrote Alfred Osunsanya in response to the video. “First the debate where he met his match and second his COVID-19 diagnosis”.

The Israeli government has appointed the Founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet T.B Joshua as the Ambassador of Tourism in Israel.

Daily Times recalls that the award came after Joshua held a two-day event in June, 2019, in the historic hometown of Jesus Christ, which attracted thousands of religious tourists from across the globe.

The event, which was held at the Amphitheatre of Mount Precipice, was, howev­er, fiercely criticised by local religious figures and nearly faced cancellation due to the intensity of attacks.

A protest was or­ganised with hundreds trouncing through the city in Northern Israel with placards decrying the coming event and people shouting: “Let this witch get away from us!”

Despite the ‘noise’ sur­rounding the event, it was held successfully with T.B Joshua preaching a mes­sage on love and minister­ing “healing and deliver­ance in Jesus’ name” to the large crowds that gathered.

The event was also attend­ed by a group of religious figures who even visited the venue of Mount Precipice af­ter the event and performed a ‘cleansing ritual’ with wa­ter, leaves and salt.

The event, which was broadcast on local tele­vision throughout Israel and featured in The New York Times and Reuters, subsequently attracted the attention of Israel’s Min­istry of Tourism, which gave an award to the Nige­rian cleric and made him a ‘Tourism Ambassador’.

With the news of the Bayelsa State Governorship Election Petition nullifying the election of Governor Diri and ordering a fresh one within 90 days, Nigerians on social media have been quick to recall the ‘prophecy’ given to APC’s candidate David Lyon by TB Joshua.

“When Prophet TB Joshua asked David Lyon to wait until after his inauguration before he gives his testimony of his victory in the Bayelsa Election in 2019, I know there was going to be some drama before his inauguration... As we speak, fresh elections are possible in Bayelsa,” wrote Olupitan Oluwamuyiwa on Twitter.

“Please who can quote the words from Senior Prophet T.B Joshua to David Lyon for me,” commented Bayefa Emomotimi on Facebook in the light of the news. “TB Joshua’s words are coming to pass,” added Tega Mike also on Facebook.

After Lyon’s initial landslide victory in the gubernatorial election in Bayelsa, he visited Joshua’s church for a ‘thanksgiving service’ only to be told by Joshua it was too early to share his testimony.

“For your information, this is not the time for testimony; this will come after his inauguration,” Joshua cryptically commented in the service on December 1st 2019.

“The only way Bayelsa people will believe that he is the one they voted for is for him to meet the expectation of the Bayelsa people,” the cleric further counselled.

When Lyon’s victory was controversially rescinded on the eve of his inauguration due to discrepancies in his deputy’s paperwork, Joshua’s message surfaced on social media again, with many onlookers believing his message was warning Lyon of the impending trouble.

The news that fresh elections are to be held in Bayelsa suggest the possibility Joshua’s words may indeed find fulfilment given the continued popularity of Lyon in the region.

Founder and General Overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, has begun ‘virtual prayer’ for healing of those afflicted with COVID-19 in isolation centres.

A Youtube video at the weekend showed the cleric praying for bedridden patients hooked up to oxygen tanks and surrounded by hospital staff heavily laden with protective gear.

The video captured Joshua praying in front of several huge screens relaying in real-time the footage from the several wards within Isolation centres in Honduras, a central American nation.

During the prayer, which was translated simultaneously into Spanish, several patients were seen ‘vomiting’ whilst others were seen rising to their feet from their hospital beds and waving their hands.

“Jesus that has freed you will help you to maintain your miracle. Make the Word of God the standard for your life,” Joshua counselled after declaring dozens of COVID-19 patients “free”.

Afterwards, representatives of the medical staff at the hospital thanked Joshua for his prayers and support.

The video concluded by stressing that it was not intended to “discourage anyone from seeking medical treatment” as “good Christians are good citizens.”

DAILY POST reported last month that the World Health Organisation, WHO, reacted to a video in which a Cameroonian medical doctor was reportedly ‘healed’ of COVID-19 after receiving “interactive prayer” from Joshua’s ministry.

WHO had acknowledged that “spiritual leadership is very important in a time like this.”

The cleric had recently declared his readiness to freely pray for those in Isolation Centers in Nigeria and around the world.

Joshua, who had been absent for seven weeks from Emmanuel TV’s broadcasts, earlier shared a sermon titled ‘Mistakes Are Correctable’.

“We wake up in the morning determined to get it right. Before we know it, we have missed the mark,” Joshua began, stressing that “making a mistake” was not the issue but “how we handle it matters.”

“For instance, the issue of COVID-19 is a mistake. However, how we are handling it has led us to where we are today,” he continued, citing the uncertainties and “twists and turns of life”.

“If you make a mistake, as we all do sometimes, don’t run from God; run to Him,” Joshua taught, adding that mistakes actually “make Christian life more interesting and more valuable” and serve as a means to “draw us closer to God”.

“We made the call - and all of us have made the bad call in some areas of our lives,” he acknowledged, parabolically describing that everyone has “feet of clay to some extent”.

Joshua concluded by calling on viewers to have a ‘genuine’ connection with God. “When we connect with Jesus genuinely by way of a personal relationship, He will walk you through everything you do,” he stressed, before proceeding to pray for viewers.

Joshua’s videos have been viewed over one billion times in various languages on YouTube, with his official English Channel reaching 1.7 million subscribers.

A South African woman and a couple from Honduras say they have been healed of COVID-19 after joining prayers via video call with the Synagogue Church for All Nations led by Pastor T.B.Joshua.

Mrs.malan from South Africa said in the clip of her testimony that “the deadly coronavirus is dead in my body.”

She claimed that doctors had earlier confirmed that she was infected but after the prayers a fresh test showed that she was free of the virus.

I’m ready to pray for COVID-19 patients in isolation centres – T.B Joshua

Pastor Temitope Joshua of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has said that he is ready to virtually offer prayer for COVID-19 patients in isolation centres around the world.

In an announcement posted to Joshua’s YouTube channel, Emmanuel TV, the cleric called on relevant government and medical authorities to “organise those who are in isolation” and “arrange how to connect them to us on Emmanuel TV”.

“The blessing of Jesus is for those who knock and ask,” he said in the announcement, adding, “In whatever way you support to make this happen, we are a team; we are not doing more than you”.

“Together we shall pray for them. Together we shall be set free from this COVID-19,” the statement continued, quoting the Biblical reference in Luke 4:40 where Jesus healed “all who had various kinds of sickness after the mass prayer.”

“The same anointing that heals one is also able to heal all at the same time,” it concluded, calling on all interested parties to contact the church via their email address info@emmanuel.tv.

Last week, the World Health Organisation reacted to a trending video in which a Cameroonian medical doctor was ‘healed’ from COVID-19 after receiving “interactive prayer” from Joshua’s ministry, acknowledging “spiritual leadership is very important in a time like this”.

His testimony was followed days later by a couple of university lecturers who equally acknowledged receiving healing from the dreaded virus, replete with medical reports before and after prayers from Emmanuel TV.

Since starting its ‘Interactive Prayer’ – in which online prayer is offered via video calls – Joshua’s ministry has prayed for COVID-19 patients from around the world including citizens of USA, South Africa, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Honduras and Cuba.
