ogugua88:

It possibly distinguishes the different kinds of pleasure between same sex and opposite sex. The physiology remains the same. The truth is that heterosexuals perform the act and heterosexuals enjoy the act. So what exactly is your point?

The initial statement that you tried to respond to was along the lines of a man's anus differing from that of a woman. Eight pages later and no one has answered the question. How homosexual transmission of HIV via the anus and heterosexual transmission of HIV via the anus differs also has not been answered. The truth is that there's no difference. The problem with the HIV/AIDS contraction rate in terms of transmission via intimacy stems down to partners not being abstinent or their being intimate in an unsafe manner.

Man or woman, gay or straight, use a condom. Nigerians should research the cost of abstinence, the cost of a condom, the cost of an abortion, the cost of birthing and raising an infant, and the cost of antiviral drugs for treating HIV. Which is cheaper/cheapeast?
The two safer options, abstinence and condoms, don't cost up to $5 dollars. The cost of the rest are in the hundreds and thousands. Why can't common sense be common?

You make some of the most logical and incisive comments I come across on this site. I'm a big fan. Think I'd like to know you more. Cheers!

Politics / Re: Ezu River Victims Were Murdered - Autopsy Report by temtem1(m): 10:15am On Mar 14, 2013
[b]Dont quote me, but I have heard that he sort of gave a blanket instruction to the Nigerian Police and AVS (Anambra State Vigilante Service) to kill any kidnapper they catch on sight.

I sort of supported it as we all know how our judiciary and Police system works. If a kidnapper has connections in high places, he would never see inside a courtroom and may end up back on the streets. But this dumping them in a River is just downright callous. How about a well or a pit somewhere.

The Nigerian system has really left us vulnurable. Two wrongs can never make a right, but in the absence of sanity in the system, we have to find a way out. So the courts dont work, the Police dont work, the criminals all know this, the government also knows this, the citizens also know this, YET! We want a crime free society. What then should we do?! Let the criminals go scot free?! Or what?!

Even Governor Amaechi did similar in Rivers State at some point. If a Kidnapper is caught, they dont make it to the station alive.

When you hear the tails of people that have been kidnapped, you will shudder. Example; A woman that was kidnapped recounted her ordeal for 2 weeks in the bush of how she was repeatedly r`aped by countless guys over and over and over until her ransome was paid.. At some point, they were inserting all sorts into her v@gina. A man that was returned after his kidnap, cam back blind. Rivers State Power comissioner for Power was shot in the leg after his ransome had been paid. A guy in my office has not been seen or heard from for over 4 years now since his kidnapping and the payment of his ransome, no closure for his family as everyone has given up hope. A man in my office had his children (3kids) kidnapped on their way back from school. He virtually sold his life to pay their ransome.

Anambra State is the wild. When those niggas wanna do anything, they push the envelope to the limit. I am caught between the devil and the deep blue sea on this matter. I support the extra-judicial killings of criminals, however I am afraid that some innocent people might also be delibrately killed in the process and labelled criminals as well.

EITHER WAYS!! This is the life we are faced with. I cant really blame anyone for anything anymore.

Touching stories! May God save us all from this horrifying ordeal!

The Federal Government has re-awarded the construction of Zik’s mausoleum to a French construction company for N1.49 billion with a completion period of 13 months.

Zik’s Mausoleum is the final resting place of Nigeria’s first President, the late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe at his Inosi Onira residence in Onitsha. The project has been awarded four times by the federal government without any success.

Great write-up!
I believe medicine is not just a noble profession, its a divine calling. However, people go into it for all the wrong reasons; family pressure( "we must have a doctor in this family"
mum wants to be called "mama doc"wink, pride, the misleading belief that once you're taking first or second position in ur class then u must become a doctor, lastly and regretably money!!!!!
If you dont have the passion for saving lives and puting smiles on people's face, then you have no business studying medicine cos u r bound to eventually get dissappointed and frustrated!

but beyond d sentimental side of it, i think u need to read broad in order to see things from their broader view, and not those twisted and nincompoopish way of average Naija undergraduate that sees nothing good in what he/she is learning, not to mention others'. i have been there, so i know

This guy *smh* ur just a miserable low life.....where have u been? even those of us who have gone abroad for PG degrees can attest to the fact that we do even better than our comtemporaries...so stop disgracing urself as an undisputed champion in the land of morons!

Career / Re: University Courses That Are Waste Of Time by temtem1(m): 9:29am On Jan 12, 2013
homerac7: majority of respondents to this thread have spoken from the sadly narrow and confused view that's popular with Nigerians youth nowadays. For anybody that knows better, it's quite easy to believe that Nigerians are actually circa 68 points on IQ rating, just from opinion on this thread. More painful and worrisome is that most are supposed to be in or have passed through one university/higher institution of learning or another.

For those who are teachable, the problem with those courses is not themselves, but the national plan(lessness) in place. they are all vital ingredients in national development programmes, both on micro and macro scale. i know this view is still foreign to many of you, bout for a start, i will refer you to major national development projects like Project Paper Clip and Project Manhattan amongst many others for and from other nations, then you will see how these knowledges fit together to solve the very giant puzzle of projects/programmes. It is just like calling the salt or maggi cube in your kitchen a waste when it is solitary, but when you bring it together with other ingredients they make a very great meal. Even the supposedly choice courses are only part of the big circle that is ever dependent on those "smaller" ones.

I cant type for long on this. To educate undergraduates/graduates on importance of other courses is a big re-education task that shouldn't come free of charge on blogspots, if the so called graduates/undergraduate is not intelligent enough to have deciphered this in course of his/her study.
Bottom line is that it is a big circle of life there, there's a place for everybody to fit in and play his/her role. If some people are not fitting in, the the circle of life will start dying gradually because it becomes deficient from their needed contributions.

its either u dont know how to communicate ur point or u dont have one! After spewing ur rubbish and condeming others u still admitted there is a problem with those courses.....come who dash u visa to Uganda wey dey feel like......

Politics / Re: Why Would A UNIBEN Professor Lie? by temtem1(m): 1:58pm On Jan 11, 2013
Two things are likely;
Publicity stunt by Prof Ibeh
or
they actually found something, and were excited to make hasty announcements....
The fact is that on daily bases thousands of molecules are screened for therapeutic potency, only very few make it to the final stage of approval for use in humans and even at that stage its the duty of the regulatory agency to make the announcement.
So, the conspiracy theory is unlikely. Prof and his team errred in making such public claims, at best what they should have done is to present their research findings in a scentific conference to relevant stake holders and HIV specialists.
