I decided to come up with dis since everything with a disadvantage has an advantage 1( Most compounds are noiseless because 'I better pass my neighbour' generators are on sabbatical leave. 2( Wives are happy because husbands who like hanging out are now staying at home with the family because drinks outside are not cold and no fuel to drive out. 3( All the housewives are cooking good food because no more Crunches and Mr Biggs, 4( Kids are reading their books since watching TV needs fuel. 5( No more congestion in network since many peoples phones are off. 6( Browsing & downloading is faster than before cause not much people are online. 7( Everyone sleeps very early now, No more late night movies.. Light no dey naa 8( There are MORE PRAYERS & less distractions 9( Parents are over-joyed because their children that were always online now concentrates on their studies. 10( Even God Himself is very happy when he saw people who haven't gone to church for months and years going to church and staying for both First and second services just to charge their phones... CONTINUATION Nigeria’s fight against the militant sect. One of President Buhari’s key early acts upon taking office was traveling to Chad and reiterating the country’s support for the multi-national task force as the countries collaborated to attempt to defeat the sect. It was a positive indication that Nigeria and its bordering nations were finally starting to understand that the threat the sect posed had evolved and had to be tackled differently. Even though Boko Haram remains in operation and still strikes fatally in the North-East, and even though the Nigerian government will miss its December deadline to defeat the sect, the general consensus appears to be that in 2015, Boko Haram’s whole-scale capability has been significantly dented. Drop in oil prices The dip in oil prices is a global phenomenon, but, given Nigeria’s overbearing reliance on the resource for its wealth, it has had reverberating effects on the country. With the government facing revenue shortfalls, salaries have gone unpaid as Nigeria dealt with this reality. While President Buhari’s plans have been hamstrung by the drop in oil prices, it also provides an interesting window of opportunity. For years, Nigeria has made unconvincing attempts to diversify its oil-dependent economy; now, faced with little choice, the government will finally have to truly diversify. |
