SpatialKing: What's so special about assembling a team that would work with you?
APC has really reduced the standards of governance...
The only difference is Peter Obi won't appoint or select based on nepotism like Buhari and Tinubu is doing now.. This actually has nothing to do with APC. It's just the stupidity of people who want Tinubu to be worshipped and praised for everything. He speaks well on TV, the praise him, he is able to stand for 1 hour, they praise him. Has there ever seen a new president in this country who has not come in and sacked all the service chiefs and other government officials to replace them with his own people? What is the big deal about Tinubu removing service chiefs and others? |

seborrhic: Buhari was a barometer that was the lowest of the low,so much so that even Tinubu speaking audibly at all is celebrated. Nigerians hearing their president speak outside the country is also a big achievement. Just shows you how low Buhari not only reduced the presidency but Nigeria itself. Nobody can beat Buhari in monumental incompetence and "unpresidientialness". I actually heard a lot of people so happy and excited that they could hear what Tinubu was saying in his inaugural speech. They praise him so much for speaking aloud. Well that was also partly due to the Bula bullabaloo he was saying during campaign. |

okuta007: Buhari was the greatest mistake any African country made politically through democracy in the last 100 years - that man wasted 8 years of Nigerians and destroyed us inside out with terrorism and huge debts - may he rot in hell forever and this is coming from me who spent sleepless nights and busy days campaigning for Buhari from 2014 to 2015 - damn
What a failure - Buhari, the SI unit for incompetence This post is not about Buhari. Tinubu should provide the palliatives he promised. There is no time to waste, people are falling sick and dying for real. |

Olalekanbanky1: Pple like you rained curses on Buhari and his cohorts for putting us in debt. So BAT should Goan borrow another trillions of naira just cos of subsidy? So u want him to sack his friends? Come off that bro Of course not! That would be bad of him to go borrow trillions to pay subsidy.. The best thing to do in this case is to work out modalities with the oil bodies, develope a framework, set up committees to carry out proper analysis in conjunction with NLC and Civil societies, to find a way to actualize a fuel pump price of #2,500 per litre. I think that will be the final solution to the problem. |

CyracksMrBlogger: the masses are still the ones selling food stuffs and essential services and increasing the price, the masses are the ones killing themselves daily, what do you want Tinubu to do? When everyone in this country chose to be greedy and wicked? We are humans and not animals for Christ sake. We need to learn how to coordinate ourselves by ourselves instead of blaming one person sitting up there because he is the president. If fuel increases from 200 to 550 what do you expect the taxi driver and the barber to do? If electricity tarrif increases what do you expect people using electricity to offer services to do? Which kind elementary question be this? |

Olalekanbanky1: So we should curse him for doing the right thing, right? So increasing fuel price without first investigating to make our refineries work is the right thing? Increasing fuel price without providing palliatives within a week at most is the right thing? Selecting government officials to sack,, sack the ones that are not your friends but look the other way to the ones that are your friends is the right thing abi? Dey there dey deceive yourself. |

hyperflex: You're right but the rise in cost didn't start now. We groaned like hell in 2015 upwards. Not an excuse but the rot or hike in prices didn't start today. Today's governments are stuck at trying to mitigate the economic decline. As I'm typing this I'm wondering how great nations get things done. It's mostly by taxing their citizens but the difference is that they give back. Nigerian government literally don't. That must change.
Leadership is not an easy pie. You must make decisions that would make you look both good and bad. That said, Buhari was a waste of 8 years. True. But looking at the big picture. Nigeria as a whole has been a waste of 63 years. I swear over 100 trillion dollars has been looted since independence. No development no diversification. |

Queendera: no.
Buhari's nepotism infected all of us. Look at Frontpage.
Two different threads based on the religion and state of origin of the appointees.
The nepotism "virus" (as you rightly called it) has spread beyond Aso Rock and has now infected all of us.
A few years back only buhari was appointing based on ethnicity and state of origin. Today, we are all celebrating Tinubu's appointment based on that and no one seems to be asking if these hands are competent.
So no, this virus has not affected Tinubu but the nation itself. The core of the nation, it's very citizens.
Like you trying to defend Tinubu at all cost without even understanding what I'm talking about.
Like a robot, once you see Tinubu and nepotism used in the same sentence, you swing into defensive mode without even understanding the context.
That is the nepotism virus I'm talking about. We citizens are supposed to defend our democracy but no, we rather defend our ethnic group.
Who then shoulders the responsibility of defending the collective? None. Perhaps you are too young to understand this. Even Before Buhari tribalism was the order of the day. Even in your communities, in your companies, in your street, in your church. Stop acting like Buhari created nepotism and tribalism in Nigeria. The constitution even prescribes sharing of power across regions and ethnic groups.. Here you are Mr Know it all, talking about people not talking about competence. What zone has no competent people? That aside, Buhari did not cause anything. The typical Nigerian man is inherently and naturally tribalist and nepotistic. Stop accusing Buhari for your bad behavior. |
Politics › Re: Bayo Onanuga Defends Tinubu's Appointment Of Service Chiefs by tesppidd: 9:47am On Jun 20, 2023 |
Queendera: we are talking about Tinubu's appointment based on their ethnicity because buhari chose to appoint based on ethnicity and was not inclusive.
Hence, now everyone is trying to see if Tinubu is like buhari.
So yes, face value this is Tinubu's thread. But deep down, we all know buhari caused this So now, Buhari's nepotism infected Tinubu? Just like the HIV virus? Wow! Just wow! |

SmartPolician: No doubt, the appointment has some level of tribalism, but nobody can compete with Buhari in that area. That man terribly polarized the country and it wasn't as if his appointments were based on competence. Why are we still talking about Buhari.? Abi is it his own nepotism that is affecting Tinubu? Is it to justify Tinubu? |

At National level you go to where you're accommodated so Wike ain't losing. . . Wike ain't losing I agree. Ass kisser hadly lose,. They kiss asss to remain relevant. Let's not lose track, In the National politics of PDP, Wike lost out terribly after Northerners fooled him after his spent Rivers billions. It's simple as that. |

saintkeppy: Which defeat? Where is Atiku or Iyorchia Ayu today? Oh! they're still in court or Atiku has gone back to Dubai? while Nyesome Ezebunwo Wike has moved on. Among the G-5 Governors, he wasn't seeking any elective office. so get that! He delivered President Tinubu in Rivers State during the Presidential election block votes &the President is very grateful, same day he delivered 3 PDP senators &many PDP FHoR members, FYI Wike is very relevant at National, Tinubu reference him in Rivers State, trust Tinubu, he knows how to reward such people appropriately. Again, Wike installed his PDP successor competently with many PDP House of Assembly members.
So you want to tell me Wike is a Loser? lol He removed Ayu and Atiku's relative became the National Chairman abi.. 2019 he battled with Atiku to install Tambuwal right under his nose in Port Harcourt he lost. 2019 he battled to install Minority leader he lost. 2023 he battled to be Flag bearer he lost. And as for working with Tinubu, that doesn't prove any power. Any body who decides to play anti party or a saboteur will easily succeed. If Atiku decides to visit Tinubu today and settle with him to get a ministerial slot Tinubu will give him without blinking. Even if Atiku demands 4 ministerial slots to work with Tinubu, Tinubu will jump at it. So running around Tinubu and kissing his asss for position doesn't show any position of power. |
