It is not a northern characteristic to frustrate other tribes trying to rise in the armed forces. It's a Nigerian character. From university scholarships to university admissions, from job appointments to job promotions, from religious appointments in churches and mosques to getting called up for national sports competitions, all tribes are guilty as charged.
Conspiring to destroy other people's chances of rising all because they don't belong to your tribe or religion is part of the Nigerian character. We've all been victims.

This is very true. But when you stop to see how the educational system in Nigeria has been destroyed by these same men screaming blue murder, you won't blame people for following in their footsteps. They have frustrated students in Nigeria with strikes, extravagant school fees, bad infrastructure.
