So....this is an interesting one for the 'Touch Not My Anointed' zombies here on Nairaland. According to these folks, both Ukpabio and Joshua are 'anointed' and must not be 'touched'. I'm waiting to see the first TB Joshua acolyte weigh in on Ukpabio... ![]() |
Best quote Our President is a PhD, while yours takes a bath and eats beetroot to prevent AIDSLMFAO!!!! |
moonraker:Man, this statement is really dissapointing coming from you, cos I know you usually know your onions. The older iPads have a 1024 x 600 screen resolution. Pixel density of around 160 dpi. The new iPad has the highest resolution of any mobile device out there, pixel density of > 250 dpi. The difference in screen quality is the most obvious change in the new iPad, the very FIRST thing you notice. What tech blogs have you been reading? Everyone has been blown away by the screen quality. |
Aigbofa:Actually, his convoy was hit by missiles fired from a French Mirage Jet, not a US drone. US drones were in action in sirte at the moment, taking on armed targets. But the convoy itself was bombed by a French jet. Gadaffi himself was NOT killed by an airstrike. The OP is full of fairytales |
Jakumo:If there's any justice in the afterlife, Pol Pot and Joseph Stalin should be suffering eternal unspeakable agonies for their monstrous deeds. These were monsters in human skin, not true men. |
IMHO, anyone who buys a brand new Torch 9800 in this day and age has to be a dolt! The Torch 9800 was a molasses slow phone with an outdated processor and screen resolution when it was released in 2010. The OS6 is now outdated. For a little extra cash (perhaps 15k max), anyone could buy a Torch 9810 which is infinitely superior to the crappy Torch. Why make such a blind purchase?! |
sdbaba:Why not pray instead that God gives him more common sense than you display. At your age (you claim to be a mature 'uncle') you can still make such foolish excuses for people who carry narcotics? |
Yet another dolt that's advocating the ban of something without the presence of a viable local alternative ![]() |
When they disbursed the money in the excess crude account to the Governors, the excuse was that that money would be used for development and improved infrastructure. All that happened was that the money ended up in the gullets of a corrupt few or was used to fuel re-election campaigns. Now some people here (even after seeing this mournful analogy/example) still believe that removing subsidy will translate into development?! Please remember the definition of insanity (doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results). Isn't anyone who thinks that the so-called savings will be used properly an insane person? |
mrsseller:Yeah right. How much did Enquirydon pay you to make this post? |
gohome: ![]() 'Social media'?! You brainless neanderthal! So you equate your BBM with 'social media' abi? Perhaps we should also be posting here in the Politics section anytime Hi5 changes their layout. Dolt! |
lepasharon:What are you referring to as 'a black culture'? The choice of a man to buy what he wants with his own money or the 'oversabi' nature that you guys are displaying? ![]() |
@poster A brief look at Enquirydon's post history shows his office address in Otigba. his phone number has been registered in his name, giving you an easy route to corner him. yet you're here whining about the scam instead of taking action! |
See these raving lunatics. What has this got to do with Politics? Later you bunch of illiterates will be abusing the Federal Government for failing to do the right thing. |
The OP is just a near illiterate. it's one thing to complain about a plane being dirty, but how the hell can you blame an airline for turbulence and bad weather?! One wonders which kind of job he is doing that tolerates such idiocy! |
So this smear campaign is still on in force? |
Beaf:The man is sick. Stooopid, brainless Abians elected this imbecilic toad back to power. Lily-livered cowards! After all the ritual killings, kidnapping and underdevelopment that highlighted this fellow's first term, he was still voted back to power! This is state sponsored discrimination and must be challenged! |
oyb:Lol. That stand is pretty much irreplaceable. Under that glass lies an Xbox 360, a Wii, 2 decoders and a DVD player. I've been battling the wire clutter for ages. ritchboy:Abeg no vex. That's just the photo frame na, u no see say na oyibos dey that pic? @Topic Seems like that change of HDD is needed ASAP. Super Street Fighter IV took 12GB, Pro Evo Soccer 2011 grabbed 9GB. I've got a 60GB PS3 but it's reporting only 500MB left, even after i deleted all my movies ![]() I just had another think about El Razur's arguments. The truth is, there's a whole lot of gray areas in this. If it's legal to buy a game, beat it and sell it off to the used game market, why should it be shady to copy that game and then play it at your leisure, then delete it when you're done? Even if you sell or give out the original game, it still boils down to the same scenario. Ripped PS3 games are beginning to appear online, but at tens of gigabytes in size, only the most hardened fellow with a great connection would start downloading such. Much easier to just buy the damned thing. |
I was 9 in JSS1. And that was way back in 1991. it's not inconceivable that you'd have an 8 year old in JSS1. Would be bloody difficult, though. |
Bawss1:Yep. I hate using this ID thingy, don't believe in multiple IDs. |
oyb:Elrazur, enough prattling about games. Answer oyb's question above. Also according to your rules 1. Do you use AdBlock in Firefox? Yes? Then you're denying developers Ad revenue. Stealing from their children's mouths. Shame! 2. Play music loud enough for others to hear? Wrong! 3. Kept any Mp3 from your CD collection even after the original CD may have been damaged/loaned out? Thief!! 4. Ever photocopied any part of a book before? Well, you know that part that says "No part may be photocopied without prior written permission of the owner"? Yeah. That makes you a thief. I'm glad to know you haven't ever done any of these things. I'll also be glad to convey your scorn to those who do . |
ElRazur:As the topic says, i jailbroke my PS3 to play copied games. Not PIRATED games. Those two words do not necessarily mean the same thing. You KNOW this, but the lure of preaching from your soapbox is overriding your logic. There's nothing remotely illegal in making backups of games i legally own. My comment on selling the game should not be taken literally. I have no need for such meager sums of money. What is debatable is that i most likely could swap or lend out the original disk while continuing to play the backup. But that too exists in a grey region all by itself. Do you continue to play ripped Mp3s from CDs you buy if you loan your neighbour the CD, for example? Your comments on jailbreaking are naive. If i decide to do some SNES gaming on my PS3, what issue of yours is it? I'll bet your Android phone is rooted; is that evil too? ElRazur:Sorry, but some of us would rather use our SNES emus with an actual Wireless pad. And yes, Sony has the right to make amendments to the PS3 firmware. Just as PS3 owners have the right to backup copies of game discs they legally own. it doesn't matter how many people abuse this right to run pirated games. The fact remains that it's their right! Is there room for Abuse? YES! Just like Sony happily removed the OtherOS feature that was used as a selling points for many PS3s. ElRazur:The part in bold is pure balderdash. Microsoft came out with the 360 a year ahead of the PS3 mainly to get a decent head start on their main competitor, after learning their lessons from the PS2 era. Modchip or flashing dependent Console Piracy is just a drop in the ocean. To date, the Dreamcast, PSP and Nintendo DS are perhaps the only systems to have suffered seriously from Piracy as only a simple boot disk or modified firmware is needed to launch copied games. What most of these people won't tell you is that most pirates would never have bought the game in the first place. Numbers don't lie. People have been flashing Xbox 360 consoles for the past two years. So why is it that most multiplatform games on the 360 sell far more than their PS3 counterparts, even in North America where the install base is almost at par? Red Dead Redemption is a sterling example. the 360 version No 3 on the top 10 sales list, the PS3 version doesn't even make the charts! I'm not holding brief for piracy here, just reminding you of the facts before you start spreading FUD. Insisting that piracy 'ruined the PS1, 2 and Xbox for everyone' is just silly. |
asiwaju:You admit to yelling and cursing the lady behind the counter in your original post. Are you really supposed to do that? If you feel entitled to diss Air France because of ONE bad experience, would you be happy if that woman (and others around) decide that all Nigerians are loud and abusive just because of your behaviour? |
@PapaBrowne Don't be in a haste to spread FUD. The report says he's considering diversifying with a SMALL shift into some Asian currencies. And here you are shouting that the man wants to convert ALL our foreign reserves to the yuan. Since when did 'a part' become 'all'? As the CBN Governor, he has to consider all possible scenarios pro-actively, and that's probably what he's doing. This your unending hatred for Sanusi will get you nowhere. |
chidichris:ideally. but it may bring more war if the Taliban fight harder to grab some of this bonanza. It'll probably make China far more interested in Afghanistan, which may be good or bad. |
Conspiracy theorists are gonna love this! |
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/14/world/asia/14minerals.html?hp An internal Pentagon memo, for example, states that Afghanistan could become the "Saudi Arabia of lithium," a key raw material in the manufacture of batteries for laptops and Blackberries. The vast scale of Afghanistan's mineral wealth was discovered by a small team of Pentagon officials and American geologists. The Afghan government and President Hamid Karzai were recently briefed, American officials said. While it could take many years to develop a mining industry, the potential is so great that officials and executives in the industry believe it could attract heavy investment even before mines are profitable, providing the possibility of jobs that could distract from generations of war. - The New York Times |
MRbrownJAY:EvilBrain used the word 'often' The issue here isn't with Evilbrain educating himself on the subject. It's about you not being able to understand the meaning of the word 'often'. FYI, often doesn't mean ALWAYS. |
binigurl07:What the hell do you mean by 'them'? So if some doctors were careless in your grandmother's case, that means all doctors are bad and you should remain angry at all of them? binigurl07:Where else were they going to feed his through? His arse? How did the mother know the food was not digesting? Since when did a swollen stomach become a 100% unimpeachable sign of failure to digest food? More importantly, why take the explanation of a layperson as cardinal truth? I visited a doctor friend of mine during my NYSC. The fellow was serving in a clinic in a village. The villagers started reporting him to the head of the clinic as a bad doctor. Why? Because he refused to prescribe Injections and Drip all the time, while the villagers insisted that he had to give them injection to make them feel better. Long story short, he started giving people a simple Saline solution drip ( as a mere placebo) and the patients were happy. If one of the villagers came here to Nairaland to complain, you'd be the first to start blaming doctors. If DaGrin's death affects you, please start a campaign against drunk driivng in Nigeria. That way you'd actually be doing something useful. |
@Oyb Now i've got your attention, please help retrieve my texazzpete moniker from the wrath of the spambot banhammer. All i did was post a perfectly good rejoinder on the Phone section, and now i'm banned. How do i go about this? I hate not having my usual name ![]() |
And before any of you attack me, I speak as someone who lost his Grandfather to the carelessness of a Medical Doctor who pumped the old man full of a glucose based drip, without checking his case file to see that the man had chronic diabetes. As the old man lay dying, no oxygen canister could be found in the hospital for 10 minutes. Of course I also speak as someone with 3 siblings as medical doctors. I know how dedicated they are to their profession, and how underpaid they are for their efforts (i earn double the combined salaries of all three of them). So i know how foolish, how unfair it is to generalize. As someone who does not drink alcohol and who has lost two friends this year alone to drunk driving, i know where to focus most of the blame. |
