cant be seen with the Unclad eye

Man, this statement is really dissapointing coming from you, cos I know you usually know your onions.

The older iPads have a 1024 x 600 screen resolution. Pixel density of around 160 dpi.
The new iPad has the highest resolution of any mobile device out there, pixel density of > 250 dpi.

The difference in screen quality is the most obvious change in the new iPad, the very FIRST thing you notice. What tech blogs have you been reading? Everyone has been blown away by the screen quality.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Us Drone Killed Gaddafi? - Says Russian Media by texazz: 7:03pm On Oct 21, 2011
Aigbofa:

According to reports, his convoy was hit by a drone. He survived, tried to escape but was caught in the process. He was obviously not killed by the drone as evidenced by the video clips.

Actually, his convoy was hit by missiles fired from a French Mirage Jet, not a US drone. US drones were in action in sirte at the moment, taking on armed targets. But the convoy itself was bombed by a French jet.

Gadaffi himself was NOT killed by an airstrike. The OP is full of fairytales

Good job Johnie B. Goode.    History shows over and over again that despots, tyrants and dictators NEVER learn from history.

Don't forget to mention Satan himself,  Pol Pot of Cambodia, whose "Killing Fields" consumed over 2 million souls during the sadistic reign of the Khmer Rouge during the 1970s.

If there's any justice in the afterlife, Pol Pot and Joseph Stalin should be suffering eternal unspeakable agonies for their monstrous deeds. These were monsters in human skin, not true men.

IMHO, anyone who buys a brand new Torch 9800 in this day and age has to be a dolt!
The Torch 9800 was a molasses slow phone with an outdated processor and screen resolution when it was released in 2010. The OS6 is now outdated.
For a little extra cash (perhaps 15k max), anyone could buy a Torch 9810 which is infinitely superior to the crappy Torch. Why make such a blind purchase?!

I never said what he did was right, infact I condemn it 100%, I was only saying we the society at large should also treat this people like commoners. We are the ones that make them stars and put heavy loads on them to meet up. For instance if you see Tuface driving a peugeot 504 wont you laugh at him? be sincere with yourself.

My nephew doesnt like spending money at all, he's very prudent but in a situation where they hold him and his immediate family hostage, what is N20K in redeeming that kind of situation? that you're not sure where it may end. There was a day I was there and he came around, few mins later there were like 10 boys at their gate saying they're looking for him, we told them to go tell them that he wasnt around that he just came to drop something and he has left. They said ok no worries, they'll wait at the gate that since he has left they'll see wether it's his driver alone that will drive out with his car. After about 30mins of them waiting, he had to go out to see them himself and *settle* them cos he had to leave for an urgent appointment.

Anyways you may not understand now, I pray God makes you a superstar or that you win an elective post as a politician, then you'll appreciate what I'm saying here. All the best.

Why not pray instead that God gives him more common sense than you display. At your age (you claim to be a mature 'uncle') you can still make such foolish excuses for people who carry narcotics?

Business / Re: An Open Informal Letter To Beaf On Fuel Subsidy by texazz: 6:18am On Oct 11, 2011
When they disbursed the money in the excess crude account to the Governors, the excuse was that that money would be used for development and improved infrastructure.
All that happened was that the money ended up in the gullets of a corrupt few or was used to fuel re-election campaigns.

Now some people here (even after seeing this mournful analogy/example) still believe that removing subsidy will translate into development?!

Please remember the definition of insanity (doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results). Isn't anyone who thinks that the so-called savings will be used properly an insane person?

I advice you my brother to simply run and learn your lessons because you will go to the Police and they will charge you more money for investigation and mobilization and more expenses and stress. another person can even scam you again in the name of trying to help you catch a ghost (ha ha ha this is funny) and you will finally regret chasing someone that was smarter than you to remove 53k from your hand like that in this hard time. I bet you 100,000 that you will never catch this person and you will just be wasting your time if you try so just learn your lesson and be wiser.

Seems like that change of HDD is needed ASAP. Super Street Fighter IV took 12GB, Pro Evo Soccer 2011 grabbed 9GB. I've got a 60GB PS3 but it's reporting only 500MB left, even after i deleted all my movies  angry

I just had another think about El Razur's arguments. The truth is, there's a whole lot of gray areas in this. If it's legal to buy a game, beat it and sell it off to the used game market, why should it be shady to copy that game and then play it at your leisure, then delete it when you're done? Even if you sell or give out the original game, it still boils down to the same scenario.

Ripped PS3 games are beginning to appear online, but at tens of gigabytes in size, only the most hardened fellow with a great connection would start downloading such. Much easier to just buy the damned thing.

el, talk true na - is every single bit of media you have - music, ebooks, movies, software, games, operating system legit and purchased directly from a retailer?

Elrazur, enough prattling about games. Answer oyb's question above. Also according to your rules

1. Do you use AdBlock in Firefox? Yes? Then you're denying developers Ad revenue. Stealing from their children's mouths. Shame!
2. Play music loud enough for others to hear? Wrong!
3. Kept any Mp3 from your CD collection even after the original CD may have been damaged/loaned out? Thief!!
4. Ever photocopied any part of a book before? Well, you know that part that says "No part may be photocopied without prior written permission of the owner"? Yeah. That makes you a thief.

I'm glad to know you haven't ever done any of these things. I'll also be glad to convey your scorn to those who do grin.
Gaming / Re: Finally Hacked My Ps3 To Play Copied Games! by texazz: 2:39pm On Oct 25, 2010
ElRazur:

Let him without sin cast the first stone.

I have stated that there some form of hacking that I will pursue. I flashed my HTC Desire so as to get updates directly from Google. Play around with bios setting and used Cpu Z to improve performance on my PC etc. I will however not pirate games or hack my console in order to play pirated games.

As the topic says, i jailbroke my PS3 to play copied games. Not PIRATED games. Those two words do not necessarily mean the same thing. You KNOW this, but the lure of preaching from your soapbox is overriding your logic. There's nothing remotely illegal in making backups of games i legally own. My comment on selling the game should not be taken literally. I have no need for such meager sums of money.
What is debatable is that i most likely could swap or lend out the original disk while continuing to play the backup. But that too exists in a grey region all by itself. Do you continue to play ripped Mp3s from CDs you buy if you loan your neighbour the CD, for example?

Your comments on jailbreaking are naive. If i decide to do some SNES gaming on my PS3, what issue of yours is it? I'll bet your Android phone is rooted; is that evil too?

ElRazur:

If I want to play snes or any emulator, there are other way round it than using your ps3. No? Let's not forget, Sony did state in their policy that they reserve the right to make amendments to the software the ps3 runs. Once it was compromised by that useless guy (and the community who worked with him) Sony did the right thing and pulled the plug on the Linux. Remember, it was all good, until the hacking and pirating community got involve.

Sorry, but some of us would rather use our SNES emus with an actual Wireless pad.
And yes, Sony has the right to make amendments to the PS3 firmware. Just as PS3 owners have the right to backup copies of game discs they legally own. it doesn't matter how many people abuse this right to run pirated games. The fact remains that it's their right!
Is there room for Abuse? YES! Just like Sony happily removed the OtherOS feature that was used as a selling points for many PS3s.

ElRazur:

Piracy and hacking was one of the reason MS came out with the Xbox replacement quickly. You see, these things eventually hits those who make them and if they do not sell enough copies, then they end up not making good games etc.
Just saying I oppose pirating console as it will eventually ruin it for every one. Look back on ps1, ps2 and xbox if you want.

The part in bold is pure balderdash. Microsoft came out with the 360 a year ahead of the PS3 mainly to get a decent head start on their main competitor, after learning their lessons from the PS2 era.
Modchip or flashing dependent Console Piracy is just a drop in the ocean. To date, the Dreamcast, PSP and Nintendo DS are perhaps the only systems to have suffered seriously from Piracy as only a simple boot disk or modified firmware is needed to launch copied games.
What most of these people won't tell you is that most pirates would never have bought the game in the first place.
Numbers don't lie. People have been flashing Xbox 360 consoles for the past two years. So why is it that most multiplatform games on the 360 sell far more than their PS3 counterparts, even in North America where the install base is almost at par? Red Dead Redemption is a sterling example. the 360 version No 3 on the top 10 sales list, the PS3 version doesn't even make the charts!
I'm not holding brief for piracy here, just reminding you of the facts before you start spreading FUD. Insisting that piracy 'ruined the PS1, 2 and Xbox for everyone' is just silly.

An internal Pentagon memo, for example, states that Afghanistan could become the "Saudi Arabia of lithium," a key raw material in the manufacture of batteries for laptops and Blackberries.
The vast scale of Afghanistan's mineral wealth was discovered by a small team of Pentagon officials and American geologists. The Afghan government and President Hamid Karzai were recently briefed, American officials said.
While it could take many years to develop a mining industry, the potential is so great that officials and executives in the industry believe it could attract heavy investment even before mines are profitable, providing the possibility of jobs that could distract from generations of war. - The New York Times

ok,supposedly Dagrin was drunk on that night ,why would nurses want to feed him tru the mouth after waking up from a coma ?  that is somethin' i never seen any hospital in Europe do , so i'm not attackin'  anybody, all am sayin' is that if those nurses didn't know what to do,they cud have transferred him to a better hospital ,besides not all doctors are the same ,some are good some are bad ,but as the case may be Nigeria is populary known for not having a good healthcare system
besides no 1 really knows what happened that night, some say he was drunk ,others say he was hit by a truck
only God Almighty knows what happened.True talk that driving drunk is a very silly ,immature and bad thing to do, that doenst mean  that we youths are allegedly going to  start drinking ,MOST  of us have the oppurtinity to have good and Godfearing parents who instruct and tell us the right things to do , and some of us choose to obey them.  As u said every1 one has the right to exercice their speech, but there are  times when things really hurt or affect you,and you just feel like pouring out you're mind, That doesn't make some1 brainless but a victim of grief.Pls,i mean no disrespect

Where else were they going to feed his through? His arse? How did the mother know the food was not digesting? Since when did a swollen stomach become a 100% unimpeachable sign of failure to digest food?
More importantly, why take the explanation of a layperson as cardinal truth? I visited a doctor friend of mine during my NYSC. The fellow was serving in a clinic in a village. The villagers started reporting him to the head of the clinic as a bad doctor. Why? Because he refused to prescribe Injections and Drip all the time, while the villagers insisted that he had to give them injection to make them feel better.
Long story short, he started giving people a simple Saline solution drip ( as a mere placebo) and the patients were happy. If one of the villagers came here to Nairaland to complain, you'd be the first to start blaming doctors.

If DaGrin's death affects you, please start a campaign against drunk driivng in Nigeria. That way you'd actually be doing something useful.

Health / Re: Da Grin's Mom: The Hospital Killed My Son by texazz: 5:13pm On Jun 11, 2010
And before any of you attack me, I speak as someone who lost his Grandfather to the carelessness of a Medical Doctor who pumped the old man full of a glucose based drip, without checking his case file to see that the man had chronic diabetes. As the old man lay dying, no oxygen canister could be found in the hospital for 10 minutes.

Of course I also speak as someone with 3 siblings as medical doctors. I know how dedicated they are to their profession, and how underpaid they are for their efforts (i earn double the combined salaries of all three of them). So i know how foolish, how unfair it is to generalize.

As someone who does not drink alcohol and who has lost two friends this year alone to drunk driving, i know where to focus most of the blame.
