I laugh at those comparing Ukraine with Afghanistan, Syria or Iraq. Ukraine has a quite sizable, NATO trained modern army with enough weaponry. Coupled with Ukraine's massive landmass. Ukraine is Germany and half of France put together.

Plus the terrible weather conditions in Ukraine isn't really helping the Russian troops. Many Russian soldiers have lost their fingers or toes to frostbite.

It took the US over $3 trillion and 20 years to achieve anything meaningful in Afghanistan but just look at what Russia has achieved in just a month in Ukraine. It's impressive.

Russia did a surprise attack against a much smaller country and much smaller army. And yet with over 10000 troops KIA, they haven’t managed to take a single major city.

The Russians are very strategic, seems they have been planning to make Ukraine a landlock country since 2014.

In 2014, they took Crimea from Ukraine to give Russia navy access to the black sea.

What nobody is seeing is that, Russia war has mostly be concentrated in the port areas, reason is this if an army controls the sea port, they will be able to supply ground troops through the sea.

For those emotional people on Nairaland, Russia has captured all Ukrainian seaports and has decapitated the Ukrainian navy, they exist no more.

Ukraine today, is officially a landlocked country, that means more suffering for Ukrainians even after the war.
