[b]Can a Christian theist explain how this is possible? Noah's ark was a little over 9000 square meters (90,000,000 square centimeters) in floor area. There are about 8.7 million species of animals on the earth. A breeding pair of them would make for a little over 17 million, but we will keep the number at 17 million to make things easier. Average area for each animal on average is about 5.29 square centimeters. So on average each animal lived on the ark for 100 days in an area smaller than the area my thumb takes up if I hold it against something. On top of that Noah had a bunch of other animals there to feed the carnivores and must have had some kind of feed for the omnivores and herbivores to eat before the carnivores ate them too. Can a theist explain this to me? I would like something a bit more intelligent than "God works in mysterious ways" please. Also, just for the record. An adult elephant eats between 200 and 600 pound of food every day. They won't be very active on the ark, so assume they only eat 200lbs/day. There are really ony 2 species of elephants left, so those 2 species must have been on the ark. So there were 4 elephants eating 200lbs of food per day for 100 days. 4 x 200 x 100 = 80,000 pounds of food just for the elephants. Where did they store all of the food or did each animal have to share their 5.29 square centimeters with their food as well? Inquiring minds want to know.[/b]
