Company:
Prep Class is fast growing learning center which provides educational resources and linking up private tutors with students across the country.

Purpose of the job
o Performs day to day accounting, financial/management reporting and treasury tasks
o Ensures timely and accurate disbursement of funds and management audits.

Duties and Responsibilities
o Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions.
o Prepare and verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.
o Support with monthly account closure i.e. Including reconciliation of bank accounts and various vendor’s accounts reconciliations.
o Manages Accounts Payables including processing invoices, following up on vendors and resolving discrepancies
o Manages Accounts Receivables including processing receipt, producing statement of accounts, collections on overdue accounts and account reconciliation when required
o Processing employee expense reports, verifying expenses are within the company guidelines, correcting errors, questioning abnormal expenses and posting into the finance system
o Prepare monthly and quarterly report on variances
o Support with preparation of trial balance and supporting documentation for all statutory account; ensure all journals are electronically filed and referenced for ease of access when required
o Ensure tax compliance & remittances and other statutory obligations as and when due (VAT, WHT, PAYE, NCD) etc.
o Management the liquidity position of the organization and proactively invest loose cash.
o Prepare the financial statements of the organization in compliance of the applicable financial reporting and regulatory guidelines and oversee external audit processes.

o Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards
o Knowledge of accounts payable
o Knowledge of general accounting procedures
o Organizing and prioritizing
o Attention to detail and accuracy
o Problem-solving skills

o Ability to build a team and position for high level delivery

Reporting Line
Reports to the Finance Supervisor and MD.

Work experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a finance function

Age requirement
Maximum age of 35 years (39 years if female)

Computer skills
Extensive computer skills in using Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) plus other accounting software pertinent to work performed would be an advantage

Management Ability
o Able to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people (written and verbal) at all levels.
o Good team player

Academic Qualification
o First degree in Accounting, Economics or a Finance related discipline, or
o Other Finance and Accounting related professional qualifications.

Professional Qualification
ACA, CMA, ACCA will be an added advantage

Guess you saw people with CFA, ACCA, foreign masters and local masters... It happened to me also, starting ACCA this year by fire by force...its made worse when you see people with those qualifications and are also working in top financial organisations and you will be like, me with bsc, my mates are not here

Just came across this thread.

The requirement is 2.1, and below age 26. There were numerous people that got in straight from NYSC, with only a Bsc. It does not affect your chances, provided you perform in the interviews.

Seems the interviews are coming to an end. You can send a pm if you need one or two hint/info. Does seem the thread has not been too helpful as it used to be.

Even though I am totally tired on PDP rule in Nigeria. I must say APC has to be very careful with the kind of politics they play.They (APC) should be the ones condemning this kind of inducement. On the surface of it, it looks creative but after a deeper look, they should know that PDP has the power to beat them to the game of voters indument because PDP controls national treasury and Goatluck is so desperate to do anything to ensure his doomed re-election project. Should PDP allocate 50 billion Naira to this recharge card issue. Can APC match it up?. Should that be the case, they would have lost the moral ground to condemn PDP for inducement because they have done the same.
