Leviticus 17:11 NLT says, "For the life of a body is its blood. I have given you the blood on the altar to purify you, making you right with the Lord. It is the blood, given in exchange for a life, that makes purification possible." When the Scriptures say He gave his life, Jesus emptied His blood on the altar for us - every single ounce was poured out. When the soldier pierced his side in John 19:34, it was recorded that water and blood flowed out. This was the same side He told Thomas to put His hands into (John 20:27) when Thomas doubted if it really was Jesus. If there was still blood in his body, blood would have been dripping everywhere when He stood in the room with them with His resurrected body. So what gave life back to His body then? The power of the Holy Spirit! Romans 8:11 says The Holy Spirit gave life to His body and raised Jesus back to life. Hence, it wasn't blood sustaining Him anymore but the Spirit of God. Why was he raised back to life then? It was done for our justification (Romans 4:25). I'll explain. You see, our salvation and victory today couldn't have come from just the death of Jesus Christ. His death was to pay for the sins of the world, defeat death and break the power of the devil who had the power of death (because sin brought death - Romans 5:12). But it was only by rising from the dead that we could rise with Him, receive His life of righteousness (Romans 5:17) and be seated with Him in the heavenly realms far above all principalities and powers (Ephesians 2:6). That's where the victory lies. If He didn't rise, there would be no victory. There'll be no eternal life either. A believer would have no dominion over Satan. We were chosen in Him from the beginning (Ephesians 1:4), so when He came to Earth and died, we died with Him. When He was buried, we were buried with Him. When he rose, we rose with Him. That's the beauty of the Good news! I pray whoever reads this understands. |
Kei144:In your first submission, you were right about demons possessing animals. However, in your second submission, you stated that when the Holy Spirit comes into a demon-possessed person, the evil spirit(s) leave(s). I would have to point out that the Holy Spirit is only received by those who have received Christ into their hearts (Galatians 3:2,5, Romans 8:9). The biblical pattern is to cast out the demons, lead them to Christ and they'll be filled with the Holy Spirit. And when a believer has the Holy Spirit, evil spirits can NOT repossess that body and ask the Holy Spirit to shift so they can live together in the same house (body) because light can not live with darkness and Christ can not be in harmony with devils (2 Corinthians 6:14,15). Can a believer in Christ be oppressed by demons if they can not be possessed by demons? Well, it's possible, if that believer doesn't know his authority and inheritance in Christ. Finally, the Holy Spirit is NOT subject to our control and we can not issue "control words" to Him. He is God. Instead, believers are controlled by Him (Romans 8:9). I think the Scripture quoted (1 Cor. 14:32) above was rather quoted out of context. In that Chapter, Paul was addressing the apparent disorderly worship services in the Corinthian Church then. It appeared that as one person stood up to prophesy in church, another who suddenly got revelation would get up, interrupting the ongoing prophecy, just to take his turn. So the Apostle Paul was more or less saying, "Hey, all of you who prophesy have control over your spirits, so control yourself and wait till it gets to your turn!" Note the small letter 's' in spirits. No where in the Scripture was small letter 's' used to address the Holy Spirit who is also God Himself. Therefore, it wasn't the Holy Spirit that was referred to in that verse. I just thought to put this out there for future references. |
A female banker? With a profession that has a lot to do with finance, I wonder if this was an assassination disguised as kidnapping. I mean, you have the money which is the end, why still kill the means to that end? Most times, nefarious individuals tend to take this route (feigned armed robbery attack or kidnapping which always ends in the death of the victim) instead of assassination which may likely draw attention to them when the case gets investigated. |
Hmmmmm2024:Did you read the article comprehensively till the end? Those statements were concocted by the Police that gave him and his friend cutlasses to clear grasses and then handed those same cutlasses (with their fingerprints on them obviously) to SARS as exhibits and charged them for armed robbery that they knew nothing about. |
Kobojunkie:Ok. |
And this is how they open the portal for the spirits behind homosexuality and transgender surgeries to operate. When you show contempt, no matter how subtle, for the gender of your child, there are consequences. |
LegendHero:That shows the level of decadence in the system. These same individuals would still be the first to vilify the political leaders for the same corruptness that is deeply rooted in their DNA. |
You're simply going through a test and that's why you feel troubled in your Spirit. How you respond is what determines if you would be given more responsibilities in the Kingdom or what you have will be taken away from you. You were struggling for 10 years and all of a sudden, the first 'blessing' as you call it is from fraud? Examine the reason they came to you and not other places of worship. Normally, G-guys tend to go to fancier places like CEC, LFC,...Pardon my examples, they also have beautiful souls there but it's an observation. No one should tell you what to do. If you have the Holy Spirit in you, you already know what to do but you're just afraid to do it. Lmao @ your spiritual father who obviously needs to be schooled as a spiritual child again saying the 'wealth of the gentiles given to children of God' thing. If the Scriptures are thoroughly studied, you will understand that every other nation on earth except the Jews are gentile nations. Until the motive of the gospel is free of the desire for monetary gains, lives will remain untouched. |
nwirinedu:Brother, I find your statement rather insensitive. 'This is what you get when you marry a woman who cannot deliver naturally'? It doesn't surprise me by the way, given the average mindset of the Nigerian populace, especially those who claim to be educated. You do not even know the man or his deceased wife. You have no idea of the complications she may have had for surgery to have been required. And in what book did you ever read that Caesarian Surgery was a poor choice? Tell me, I pray thee, how to identify a woman who can birth 'naturally' on the first day of meeting her. You do not blame a man who has just lost his wife and has to cater for his son alone, for his wife's death while giving such preposterous submissions. You might just be the next patient in the hospital needing a surgery for your wounds. |
koldrun:I was going to recommend this before I saw that you got it already. It's very effective. But you have to apply under sterile conditions for it to work, clean the wound and wash your hands thoroughly before using them to apply the cream. Within 3-7 days, you should begin to see the wound dry up and heal. Worked excellently for me. And yours is a second-degree burn. |
jaksmillioniar:What do you expect the poor woman who has to pay more for transporting her goods down to the market place to do because of the increase in fuel price? Or that everytime she has to go purchase her goods to resell, the cost increases every single time? Or the landlord that has to give more money to his wife for food because of the increase in food prices? Or that he has to pay more to fuel his car? What I had to pay for my children's school textbooks and notebooks this term wasn't a joke. The publishers who also sold to the school must have also increased their prices and the school must make their gain as well. If you have an idea of how economics work, you'll know these things have ripple effect. |
Christ4ever:You're right. I'm amazed she's 24. Given the age of her eldest son, it means that she became married indeed at 18. I discovered a human's prefrontal cortex( part of the brain) which is crucial for complex functions like decision making, planning and impulse control isn't fully developed until the age of 25. This means that, though I may be wrong, before she turns 30 which is a pivotal age of self-awareness, she may begin to resent the old man, herself and even her own mother for the decision she thought she rightly made at 18. At that point, no amount of money would be enough to pacify the pain of the regret and 'what if's. Resentment may lead to bitterness, then malice and perhaps lead to the decision to cause the 'natural' death of the spouse if her heart is dark or eventually lead to their separation if her heart is in a good place. |
In essence, you're saying God will give a person a 'special conviction' to do what he did not explicitly command any gentile in his Word to do and then drag the person to hell for not following a confusing and contradictory instruction? Abi una dey forget say you all are gentiles? Except of course, there are now Israelites living in Nigeria. What amazes me is the level many Churchians would go to paint God as a schizophrenic. I'm not even surprised anymore, with the stories many wake up telling about how a 'Jesus' took them to hell and they discovered how wearing lipgloss and gold wristwatches took people to hell. How God told them to stop wearing colognes and shave their hair. Preposterous! |
Carefulwind3:Thanks, already did before commenting previously; my prior opinion is still valid. |
Funny thing is one can have all these 'rich' dreams and still languish in financial hardship. Even dreams can be manipulated by the devil; why rely on fleeting dreams when you have the word of God? |
This is like me calling a few of my loyal customers and giving them less than 1% of what I get on a monthly basis from doing business with them. I only give out what I know I can afford to lose because it's going to earn me more loyalty and profit from other potential customers who will watch the video I did of the event on my business social media page and as expected, see my moves as kind and empathetic while I'm just being a calculative business owner. Smart move, I'd say. |
And the best thing is to come to this platform and seek the opinions of strangers, especially some very immature lunatics in here who derive joy in ruining the lives of others through making unguarded, foolish comments? I want to believe this post is a hoax, perhaps to drive traffic. If indeed it is real, you're setting your young marriage up for doom like one of the nairalanders here who posted about his marriage from the start till it crashed because he took the advice of some faceless numbskulls. Welcome to fatherhood. Having children in marriage is a big deal, and understanding, communication and healthy compromise is needed. Couples tend to have issues especially after having the first child, sometimes there may be 'power struggles'. Why not consider using your house premises or somewhere neutral and invite both pastors? Or you could just let it go, it won't reduce your worth. How come you're even using your extended family's pastor? Don't you have a church you and your wife both attend? All these issues wouldn't have been a problem if you both walked in agreement from the start. It seems to me your marriage was built on the foundation of contention. You and wife disagreeing about court wedding and your mother-in-law deciding not to show up at your church wedding? Brother, it doesn't look good to me. Whether you choose to go for only traditional wedding, you both should have discussed it from the beginning. This is why it is important to prioritize understanding your partner and agreeing about important issues before marriage. |
Beremx:Well, I wish that were entirely correct. You are contributing in one way or the other through taxes: either through the direct tax or the indirect tax. Who do you think indirectly pays for their lavish lifestyles, including the servicing of the debts they've incurred? You and I, through public funds which are partly sourced from taxpayers' money. When a Valued Added Tax (VAT) of a commodity or service is increased, you get to pay more for that commodity or service and in that way, you are putting more of your money in the hands of the government. |
Bobloco:I agree. Nigerians will probably speak with one voice, only to re-elect another self-seeking psychopath disguised as a leader into power and the cycle continues. I do not think we are ready yet. When you go into the streets, market and public spaces and you will realize that the average Nigerian suffers a dearth of patriotism. We are too selfish as a people and there is hardly brotherhood love among us that is sufficient to fight for the betterment of our beloved country. Recently, while I was waiting for a meeting to hold, in a public space of course, I couldn't help but listen to the conversation of some individuals there. They were discussing about the government and you could hear statements like "Abeg oh, wetin consign me? If I even enter political office, I go chop my own too." "Wetin we go do? Na to pray make your own and family beta nau." That, sadly, is the mindset of the average Nigerian on the streets. Nations that have developed today wasn't built on such belief systems. We are not yet ready for the change we so desire. Our change will inevitably have to start from our thought processes as individuals, and then reverberate through the entire nation. Necessity is the mother of invention, they say. Perhaps, a little more hardship would slap every single soul including the political thugs who do dirty deals for politicians, upside the head and propel us in the right direction. |
gammarays:Epic response. |
Well, if we could help ourselves, why then would we need the help from heaven? |
post=130527720:It shouldn't be a surprise that there are some very immature, mentally ill individuals on this platform; some may even be guilty of these social vices and so they justify the evil to make themselves feel better. |
Usmanovic95:Spoken as a true economist. |
omoadeleye:There is no justification for taking a human life over such mundanity. It is only justified when you're attacked to the point where your life is in grave danger. If debtors always 'frustrate' one to the point of wanting to murder them, then one should get an anger management class or perhaps change his line of business. |
jumper524:Are you certain he'll be alone in 2027? Would you still stand by these words at that time? History has taught me that when an election year in Nigeria draws near, our politicians would 'lovebomb' the masses into oblivion again by all sorts of seemingly commendable acts, just enough to be baited into the trap of forgetting their woes and traumatic cycle of poverty while voting them back into power. It's what narcissists and psychopaths do but the masses are too greedy and oblivious to understand the game yet. |
inioluwaDaniels:There are loads of people who may be aware that their relationship with their friends or acquaintances is toxic but they find it hard to let go because of the need for external validation/approval and lack of self-awareness. Many in the society have been mentally, howbeit sublimely, conditioned to condone toxic relationships with family members, church members, colleagues, etc 'just to keep the peace'...perhaps until they cross over to the other side of life. That's why I would tell anyone, if you notice red flags about someone who claims to be your friend or family but they hate your guts, build a bridge between you and them, and love them from afar, especially if they are family. That aside, I can't help but say this. More often than not, women seem to be the enemies of one another. A woman can kill another woman literally for having a fuller bust than she has. A crazy world. |
brightpre:Salvation, which comprises eternal life, is by faith in the Son of God, Jesus Christ. |
EreluRoz:Mental conditioning perhaps? |
YoungLionken:It's not about reasoning through emotions. Even as a balanced human being who would make balanced decisions, you need both logical reasoning and emotional intelligence. Being extreme on the logic end makes one a human robot devoid of a heart and empathy, the other extreme makes one a soft dodo that is easily manipulated. Now, does it occur to you that this boy in the picture is likely not more than 5? Looking at the classroom in the picture, which is most likely his classroom, you will see small desks and chairs which are used for kindergarten kids (Pre nursery/nursery). Tell me, what can a boy his age do to warrant such inhumane treatment? There are not only cane marks on his back, but also other wounds that look like fingernails or teeth or something sharp was sunk in his back. I remember when one of my kids when he was about the age of this boy was flogged till he sustained injuries on his skin. I was enraged, but I calmly asked my boy what happened. It was discovered that he only spoke to his classmate in class and the teacher descended on him for claim of noisemaking. I confronted the school head and I was made to understand other parents complain of the apparent flogging hobby of the teacher. She was scolded though after it was discovered my boy did nothing wrong. She actually had a pile of canes in her class for flogging KG pupils. Just because such nonsense is condoned in this part of the world doesn't make it acceptable, that's why loads of children end up being traumatized adults. And some of these teachers are untrained idiots. Yes, I have also taught at a point of my life and I wasn't this stupid, projecting all anger and frustration on a little baby in the name of correction. Correct a child, yes, punish if you must but do not abuse. |
Kizzygentle:Marital status : ambiguous Children: yes, she has children. (I was once a staff of Zenith Bank) |
You're right. However, what do we define as Church in these present times? A building where believers and self-proclaimed believers go to hear one man preach messages, whether based on his sentiments or the Word of God and sermons which must be shoved down their throats even if they may be heresies; or a fellowship of people who trust completely in Christ and gather to strengthen and equip one another to do the work of ministry? |
EreluRoz:Not all. I personally know a lady who married an older man because of the mindset that the older ones treat women better; she ended up being abused physically and mentally, devalued because the 'older one' felt she was too young and beneath him to be considered his mate. |
