Righthussle:Well, at least, they have a message with documented history over time. What is your own message? I'm not talking about what you heard others say about this 'god' you aggrieved about. When those who engage in 'evangelism' go out, they talk about the Jesus they know and his love for mankind, they do not quote scriptures from an atheist Bible like you did to justify their anger against atheism like it was an argumentative essay. When those who engage in 'jihad' go out, they do so out of their conviction about Mohammed and their god, they don't give a rat ass about the beliefs of others. They are dogged. So I ask a rhetorical question, what is your own message? I say rhetorical because I don't expect an answer from you and I won't engage you further. What is your conviction? What is the basis of your conviction? Are you in this because you believe beyond all doubts or it's because of a deep seated anger towards a particular 'god' you think doesn't exist? According to the world facts, there are many gods. Why are your thoughts particularly bitter against this 'god' you think the Christians worship? Why didn't you quote the Qur'an in your write-up? Muslims also believe their god provides for them. I'll leave you to your atheistical 'evangelism' and 'jihad'. Preach on, righthussle! The world is yours! |
Righthussle:You typed this same message as a response to another post and now, one would wonder, what does this have to do with the Niger State governor's decision regarding a state that is predominantly Muslim? One could see there was no mention of Christianity or any religion in the post. However, your post betrays you in the manner of exposing your biased judgements and employment of sentiments that are of no relevance in an objective situation. This news relates to the political and socio-economic development of the nation, why don't you take out your extremist, religious views on the pastor, parents that made you disbelieve or hate the 'god' you mentioned? Learn to keep your beliefs to yourself, brother. Noone asked for this opinion you rendered. |
Zeebuy:No, that's not the issue. Haven't you heard of some of the unscrupulous practices of these baby factories? Some go as far as kidnapping some girls, have men come in and rape them and then after birth, babies are sold and the vicious cycle continues until the girls are worn out due to severe lack of care or even die in the process. |
These are my questions: Does the feet of all Christian missionaries burn constantly? If the fiery sensation stops and comes in seasons, burning lesser, what does that connote then? How do you know if it's a missionary anointing and not just something normal happening to your feet? |
superCleanworks:You can't blame some people. Perhaps they're apologising for future offence that may likely be taken by the person being asked 'Sorry, where's the door?' Have you ever been in scenerios where you ask simple questions like 'Excuse me, where's the door?' and you get responses like: 'Are you blind?! Can't you see it over there?' 'Do I look like a gatekeeper?' 'Abeg bros, check front abeg! No be your own dey do me now.' |
Omoluabi16:Most times, there's a PHCN official dubiously involved in the deal. Here's how it works: they steal, hoard/sell, wait for an area to demand for new transformer cables out of desperation for light supply. As usual, they make huge financial contributions and hey! The same stolen cables perhaps from another area is sold to them and used to fix the problem. |
Jokerman:Who raised the GenZ? GenY? If they do not respect their parents or fear God, then it is clearly the result of the failure of the parents and the society around them to raise the so-called generation to be a reflection of what the previous generation have in themselves. One can not expect an output where there was no input. When you raise a child in the way of the Lord, he would grow up to fear God. When you teach a child the value of respect, he would have it for himself and show it to others as well. When you give a child unconditional love, he would bask in it with confidence, then give it to others and not go around with low self-esteem seeking to make vanities the basis of his confidence. Broken, low self-esteem, extremely self-centered, wicked, traumatized, etc children today are a result of parental neglect/abuse/failed parenting, whether we admit or not. |
Sirchiboy:You're right. However, with no skill or set vision/life goals, a man may squander the money given to him for free because he hasn't learnt to develop himself or create value. Wealth flows to where value resides. |
And this becomes a message to preach about on the pulpit instead of focusing on preaching God's message that one claims to stand for? This issue has been become rather overflogged and irksome. Sometimes when people try to overexplain themselves to EVERYone and prove their story way over what is necessary, they have a lot unsaid and concealed. |
I see no problems here, he's been human - in trying to interact with those he finds relatable in his environment - you do not expect him to search for grannies in the area to relate with. If there were boys around for him to play with, I bet he would go out to play with them. Allow him some freedom, do not stifle that child's cognitive development. The question that comes to mind is, why does this make you uncomfortable? What are your childhood issues that has formed that mindset in you? Deal with them and you will see, that that boy has no problem. I've watched a boy grow among females, his dad was abroad. Even in church, he was among female ministers. Today, he is a preacher and I have never seen an alpha male like that guy. What you become in life is your choice. Regarding your boarding school plan, have you considered if it's best for him or what you want is what is most important? From my experience in a boarding school decades ago, life there has its pros and cons. You won't be there to watch him, will you? You won't be there for him when he's been bullied to the point that he hates school. You won't be there when a senior boy with homosexual tendencies tries to lure or browbeat him into becoming his 'babe'. |
IAMBOSS1990:1 Corinthians 5:11-12 NLT 'I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don’t even eat with such people. 12-It isn’t my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the church who are sinning. I do think a lot of times, unbeknownst to us, scriptures are taken out of the context they were written in, especially in those moments we seek to prove our points. First of all, my aim is not to talk about late Joshua. You see, in Matthew 7:1, studying the subsequent verses, we understand that Jesus tells us not to condemn others of the same behaviour we are guilty of, else we too would be judged/condemned for that same thing. Hence, the illustration of the log in the eye and speck. In other words, get rid of that sin and then you can be in a better place to constructively "criticise" them. In Roman 14:4, I think it's obvious Paul was referring to God's servants indeed, not impostors who camouflage to be God's servants. In Galatians 2:11-14, Paul opposes Peter (who became an apostle before him) to his face and even calls him a hypocrite for eating with gentiles and then later shunning them when he saw other Jews. Going by Paul's act today will definitely be a disaster and many will be quick to say as well, 'Judge not, Paul!'. Perhaps if Peter were a today's G.O., he would call Paul disrespectful and then tell his congregants to quit reading Paul's Epistles. The summary of this is to we are meant to judge/correct/rebuke with love those among us who indulge themselves in evil desires (if we are not guilty of the same thing). |
Kenneth4u205:Couldn't it also be that he had released this video after the BBC contacted him about the investigation before his death? I do have an issue with the bolded though. Why 'my disciples'? The saints are called to be imitators/followers of God (Ephesians 5:2), not men. Even 1 Corinthians 3:21 NLT says, 'So do not boast about following a particular human leader...' Viewing metaphorically the above third point about betrayal makes it seems like a subtle, egocentric comparison is made here by the deceased between Jesus and himself, as though they were in the same league. Now, I'm not stating these to start an argument. It's not my style. I'm not seeking to change your perception either. I'm simply expressing my thoughts as you did yours above. |
SmartyPants:No comments on TBJ. However, I learnt an important lesson. Majority of the society are gullible. I could be a psycopathic serial killer and a pedophile while throwing cash I didn't work for around and be confident people will always praise me and see me as infallible. One rhetorical question though, a huge part of the money that went into philanthropic works, wasn't it from the offerings, seeds and tithes of others? I fear for the Nigerian society: that this narrative of placing excessive value on who doles out the cash, regardless of his character may be a stubborn tree to uproot in the future. And that is why the masses keep voting in obviously incompetent fellows who prey on their ignorance and greed with the use of money. |
Sirchiboy:I pray you get all the healing you need. The society, over the years, have chosen to be ignorant of how much damage dysfunctional families out there have caused children who then turn out to be adults burdened with so much trauma which, unfortunately, affects their relationships. |
Obakoolex:Fear. Intimidation. Guilt trips. Also, hailing from the Yoruba culture that places value on respect for the elders of the family could be another factor. A child who speaks openly against his or her father, especially when he's alive, is termed a bastard. |
Olichoke:How can one apply for it (for business purpose)? |
Chispa:There are really psychopaths on this forum. The quoted comment may sound hilarious, but it has the power to go a long way to suggest the wrong ideas and influence the subconscious mind of the OP who may already be in a dilemma. |
DDIA:In your conscious mind, you probably hailed yourself as smart enough to post the above but in reality, you need to get wisdom or get back into school. |
Tunde835:Define Ugly. There is a beauty he saw in her that perhaps transcends what this superficial generation call beauty. Work on your perspective towards life and quit calling persons made in God's image ugly. |
MrBroke:It baffles me as well. When you go through his previous posts since 2020 when he married his wife, it might dazzle you a bit why a family man would bring his family affairs here for even the unmarried, immature to play around with. I may be drawing a wrong conclusion but going from the way he's been posting about it for years now, he probably let the opinions of others ruin his own marriage. I only hope he becomes wiser. |
BondRiv:Ulune777 has been seeing the OP's previous posts on his family matters over the years till his marriage ended. The 'adequate information' can be viewed in his previous posts. |
Serendipity2023:Everyone thinks what they say is the truth, including the religious extremists committing havoc all over the world. The world will always contain both the good and evil, hence Jesus's parable of the wheat and tares. Despite the hardness of man's heart, Jesus never said, 'These people are too corrupt, they're not worth dying for.' He still came for these 'corrupt' people. Made apostles and disciples of many and gave them the mandate to make more disciples. I was once where you are now. Judging others so harshly because I wasn't doing it from a place of love. Ask yourself, what is the purpose of this post you put up here? Is it to preach Christ or to validate some egocentric views? Take it or not, there are beautiful saints all over the world, including Nigeria. If you're not seeing them, perhaps you need to get out of where you are and broaden your scope. Do not see this as a brewing argument, I have no time for such and hence I won't come back here even if I'm mentioned again. |
"There are almost no true Christians in Nigeria." "I could comfortably say 99.999999%." The problem is when we try to judge others from a sanctimonious point of view, we end up judging ourselves. Your self-collated statistics reeks of self-righteousness, and judging from it, you're out of the number of Christians in Nigeria because 99.999999% is approximately a 100%, mathematically speaking. Run along, brother, quit whining and go do what Jesus commanded you to do in Matthew 28:19: go preach the gospel and reduce your 99.999999% to 0% if you can. |
Practise introspection and find out the reason for your ordeals. Perhaps you can start from what made you lose your faith in God in the first place and then deal with the issue. Were you ever filled with the Holy Spirit or the Christianity you practised was 'churchianity'? Sometimes, it's easy to get frustrated when we feel confused or desperate for something we desire but can't seem to lay hold of. I do not know your personality or your life story, hence I may not proffer that exact solution to your challenges. Perhaps you could consider confessing the Lord Jesus as your saviour all over again and ask that he fills you with His Spirit. It is His Spirit that convicts, makes you remorse for your sins, gives you interest for prayer and the things of God. |
Wouldn't this article be making God out to be a liar when His Word says in Romans 2:11 (NIV, NLT) that He doesn't show favouritism? Would the article imply that God loves certain people more than others? It's either he extends his mercy (from the Hebrew word chêsêd which means lovingkindness) or he doesn't (Romans 9:18). However, the Bible does aver that 'God chooses people according to HIS OWN PURPOSES for them, not according to their good works or bad works' (these words I just wrote down are exactly from the scriptures, I didn't add to it - Romans 9:11-12). This is why Apostle Paul, despite his misdeeds (bad works), God went after him still, saved him by grace when he believed and wrought great deeds through him. |
May235:That garri must be a magical garri that seems to last forever even after finishing on 'Monday'. You keep changing monikers just to scam unsuspecting, gullible and kind-hearted individuals. Quit this foolery and go get a real job, unscrupulous beggar or your judgement awaits you if you continue this nonsense. |
stewiepeter:I thought I was the only one who had noticed his/her shenanigans. |
I must say that I find it rather preposterous that one would wake up one fine morning, proceed to this platform and open a whole thread over an attention-seeking and self-serving individual who loves to bask in grandiose delusion and arrogance. It only spells out one fact: the OP needs to reevaluate herself and ask herself why she needs the validation of others, much less the one of someone who should be ignored, to be able to believe what she professes to believe. I still do not fathom till date why anyone still chooses to engage a fellow who calls himself or herself a junkie. |
Kobojunkie:So I assume you're an Israelite, yeah? That's why you obey the teachings of Christ. If not, you're one of the dogs, a Nigerian breed to be specific. It really is intriguing how one human can be so controversial, exuding such folly and arrogance while basking in the delusion of following Jesus Christ and having all knowledge. I know you would try to retort with another baseless argument, as is your custom, but the thing is, I wouldn't even bother to read your comments, just like I ignore and scroll past them on every thread. |
In a bid to 'stand out' as one of the 'less than 1% Christians in Nigeria', your post unfortunately betrays you and causes your self-righteousness to surface. Did you and the angels go round doing a survey in Nigeria and the world? Did heaven make you the Minister of Earthly Christians Statistics? Speak for yourself, you do not know the heart of others or how God gives righteousness. It was this same self-righteousness Elijah displayed when he claimed to be the only prophet left before God told him he had 7,000 others reserved. Yes, there is so much deceit and wickedness in the world today, even in the church. Nevertheless, there are still loads of |
Many do not even have enough to feed now, talk less of having the purchasing power to buy so much to save for raining days. |
In every rumour there's always an atom of truth. But the question remains....what kept the daughter mute when he was alive??
