do you recall when we were kids,how we'd go on strolls through the grass,
how in that moment,nothing else mattered but you and i,hand in hand?
when i'd pause and get lost in your eyes which sparkled like marble and glass,
while i subconciously tightned my already firm grip upon your hand.
to my childish eyes your dark skin made you nothing short of and angel,
and your bright smile made you even more divine,
be it obsession,with it you had me trapped leaving me unable to rebel,
and there for a moment i thought you'd be mine.

now in our youth between us there is a thick layer of ice,
which even the strongest of artic bears cannot bear to crush,
but your face still darts in and out of my head like stubborn mice,
even as your silent rejection silences my heartthrob to a total hush.
i an forced to see you everyday and be reminded that the concept of an "us" cannot be,
that my forbidden passions must be tossed aside,
and everyday when i see you bond with him than you ever did with me,
in my pain,to hide my flowing
