HOW TO MAKE MONEY AS A STUDENT I've said it, and I will continue saying it. If you couldn't get a good job after your graduation, you cause it yourself. I can't imagine a student not having any digital skills, you don't have any skills to offer, you can't present anything to people apart from your certificate?, so sad!! Please read this As a student. One of the benefits you have and must utilize within your 4years of stay on campus is *access to large population of people*, you have access to lots of people and you can sell your skills to them, imagine if you can gain #100 from 1000 people, that amount to #100,000. It is really simple to make money as a student, you don't have to steal, fraud people or get money in some imorral way, as a student.....you can earn unlimitedly depending on your dedication. There are up to 20,000 students in every Nigeria institution. If you can gain at least #100 from 1000 of this population (5%) how rich would you be? Please, endeavour to learn the following skills, they will surely be of help 1. Web development: I am a blogger, yes, and I have little knowledge in web development, I went to a program and met with a man, we discussed a lot and I showed my blog to him, he said he really like my blog and he will like to have something like that for his business, well....I charge him 40k (very low price) Tho I'm not that good in web development but I tried to design a cool website for him, he later paid #35k, I used 10k to buy domain and hosting and used #25 to do night sub to do the designing, my gain was #24,750. Imagine if I could get 10 people to request for a website like that, I will be having like #247,500. And I can charge up to 150k per customer. That's just the logic, it is really simple to make money online. Learn the skill, market it and wait as people demand for your service (just be truthful) 2. Blogging You can imagine the amount the likes of Linda Ikeji is earning daily, close to $60,000 (convert to naira and see the magic), Makinde Afeez of naijaloaded has also earned fortune from blogging, his networth is close to $5million. Blogging is very interesting but need your dedications. 3. Graphics designing Graphics designing is a very marketable skill, you can earn from it as a student, it is really interesting and very easy..... You can design something within 30minutes and charge #5000 for it. 4. Programming 5. App development 6. Digital marketing 7. Email marketing 8. Social Media management etc. Now, I have a good news for you. If you're a unilorite. Congratulate yourself. There is going to be a digital skill acquisition at the faculty of education, and it will start on June 1st. You don't necessarily need a laptop, a phone could be used for the tutorial. THE BRAINY FOX CONSULT Note: This is for educational purpose only These days, the rate at which people talk about IJMB/JUPEB is alarming!, most of them even invite us to do it without explaining it deeply to us. Well, I will love to explain what IJMB and JUPEB are. (Note: I'm not inviting you to do it, just trying to do my own explanation for you to know if doing it will be a right decision) Q - What is IJMB/JUPEB IJMB stands for Interim Joint Matriculation Board, is is an advanced program established by Interim Common Services Agency (ICSA) in 1976. While JUPEB stands for Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board, it was approved by federal government in December 2013 and formally established in April 2014 by consortium of ten partner universities led by Unilag then. Q - How does these 2 work IJMB and JUPEB are both an alternate to gain admission into tertiary institutions without jamb and without starting from 100level, you only need to have a 9-month intensive training + practical, and seat for the final exam. once the result has been released, you can use the result to obtain jamb direct entry (DE) form to your school of choice. Q - Only rich people can do it na Nope, it doesn't matter. The problem we are having in Nigeria is greediness of the center owners, some are overcharging the candidates. There are lots of centers out there that can charge you as low as 150k - 170k, and even collect part payment. Which means, with as low as #60k to #70k, you can start it and complete the payment later. (well, I won't mention any center since I'm not doing advert) I can't say the money is much, the money usually paid by 100level freshers + money used for jamb registration is almost the same as the IJMB/JUPEB tuition fee. Q - Who can register for this program Anybody can register, but it is advisable for those who failed jamb and will be depressed to stay at home for another year. instead of thinking of commiting suicide or doing pre-degree, why not opt in for IJMB/JUPEB. JAMB is not about being brilliant, lots of gurus failed jamb and lots of average students scored above 300, that's just it. You can try IJMB/JUPEB today and say no to waiting tirelessly for jamb result to come out. For guidance and also to be connected with the centers mentioned above, you're free to contact me on 07033748014 (WhatsApp or call)t mention any center since I |
As jamb released the long awaited 2019 UTME results, lots of aspirants have been seeing their results, some have been rejoicing while some were depressed. Do you score below your expectations? You think you failed?, you were devastated? and you feel like commiting suicide? Smiles. I'm very sure the pressure from your parents, the rejoicing of your mates that did jamb also, the frustration of spending another year at home and all sort will be compelling you to be depressed and frustrated. And depression and frustration leads to suicide. Wait! Instead of being depressed, why don't you face the problem, why don't you tell your parent to have little confidence in you, why don't you tolerate the insults from them, why don't you tell them that insults from them can traumatize you emotionally that what you need from them is their encouragement. If you commit suicide now because you can't face the insults from friends, because you can't face the insults from family, because you're depressed, do you know what you're going to meet in heaven?, do you know the amount of punishment you will receive for taking your own life?. Suicide is not an alternative and it will never be. Don't loose hope yet also, don't give up yet, you still have another chance this year. Wait self, you will surely need someone to talk to. Why don't you send a mesaage across to........ Continue reading here https://thebrainyfox.com.ng/2019/05/14/advice-to-2019-jambites/ |
2019 JAMB: MY ADVICE TO PARENTS Esther, a lady in my area was a very bright student, she used to assist me with my homework back then, the surprising thing about her was, despite her academic prowess, she did jamb 5 times before she could score above 180, people think the lady was being attacked supernaturally, who will not think like that self, she used to tutor JAMB students and her students do score 300+, but she has never passed jamb herself, her highest score was 172. At her 5th attempt, she managed to score 205 and that is what she used to gain admission to one of Nigeria universities to study industrial chemistry. Fortunately, she graduated as the overall best student in her school with the CGPA of 4.92 out of 5.0 On her convocation day, she was asked the secret behind her success and she replied “The secret of my success is my dad and mum, I would have committed suicide but they supported me, I wasn’t a dullard but I kept having issues with JAMB, different thought were running through my mind, seeing my students smashing jamb, seeing my students in school, I was frustrated and depressed, I wanted to commit suicide, a small pressure from my parent could force me to finally commit suicide, but instead of them to insult me, to call me a dullard, to be harsh on me, they chose to encourage me not to give up, they told me this is just a temporary setback, they motivated me, they never frown at my failures but just encouraged me that I could do better and here I am now, I dedicate my success to them, they tried for me.” Sir, Ma??, can you see life?, how are you treating your own children?, motivating them or saying harsh things to them?, see how her parent stood with her!, assuming they had pressure her, she would have committed suicide and she won’t be great like she is now. She failed JAMB not because she wasn’t reading or because she was a dullard, but because it is not yet her time to pass, everybody works in his/her time zone. Your friend’s daughter scored 320 in JAMB, you heard about it and you were disappointed in your own child, you then come home and blasted your child, you told him/her how useless he/she is, you traumatized his/her life emotionally. Why ![]() Some parent will be like: why won’t you fail?, when the only thing you can do very well is pressing phone, lol. Nobody will........ UNILORIN, The better by far dynasty, The institution that teaches character and learning, Preparing their alumni for the earnings. I know the word perfect is real, UNILORIN is the deal, An institution that does not condone nonsense, And always instill sense in its students. Her Excellency most sought after, Every student's choice now and after, Every parent yearns to enroll their wards, Everyone bows to her Lord. In unilorin, discipline and decency are watchwords, Every student acts in accordance with the words, An institution that is better than the rest, Every other one has to go to their nest. In love, peace, and harmony, An institution that is situated in the state of harmony, A place where unity and peace reigns, Any plan to disrupt the peace results in vain. The institution with the most stable academic calendar, That makes others wonder, What they shall render, Even when it's being tender. Great unilorites ••• Penned by: OSENI, Islamiat Arinola. AFTER YOUR RESULT, WHAT'S NEXT? (check good articles like this here "thebrainyfox.com.ng" ![]() Now unilorin has been releasing the first semester results, some are laughing while some are crying, some are thinking of celebrating their results while some are thinking of commiting suicide. Let me let you in a little secret, suicide is never the solution and will never be, you've been given another chance, another chance this semester to buckle up, to prove to unilorin that you're destined for the best and nothing but the best Some people have been underrating you, condemning you, critizicing you, calling you all kind of names because of your result, you've been given the chance to prove them wrong now, so let the second chance count, let them know you're for the best. But, how can you possibly do this? TheWritingMathematician Answer this simple question Assuming you studied everyday as if you have exam to write the following day, what would have been your grades? Nice!! That's it, you really have to buckle your belt and stop thinking about the past failure but think on how to make it right. The problem most students face is procrastination, it is only fear of failure that motivated/forced some students to read for the exam. Instead of reading like a madman some days to the exams, why don't you take everyday as exam day. If you can just try and read everyday as if you have exam the following day, you would be an extraordinary student. Train your mind to believe you have exam everyday, if this is achieved, I promise you that you will really turn the table around, you will surely say bye to failure. If you are an ordinary student, what it takes for you to be an extraordinary student is just the extra effort that you aren't making, make the extra effort today and see yourself becoming an extraordinary student See you at the top All right reserved© PHILOMATH (The Writing Mathematician) Department of Mathematics, Unilorin Philomath031@gmail.com TheBrainyFox.com.ng |
UNEMPLOYMENT IN NIGERIA: SUGGESTED SOLUTIONS PHILOMATH February 14, 2019 General Hub It is a general believe that we all go to school in order to graduate with good grades and secure good jobs, but the rate of unemployment in Nigeria today is very alarming, thousands of youths are graduating every year with very low probability of getting a good job, that is why our graduates end up as school teachers, gardeners, gatemen some even opt in for programs like Npower, where they were paid #30,000 per month, imagine? After all the years spent in college. There is a solution to this unemployment, a better solution that could fetch you moree money as a graduate, what is the solution?..... It is ENTERPRENUERSHIP What is entrepreneurship?: from my dictionary, I can call enterprenurship the act of working independently without relenting on anyone for salaries, being an entrepreneur automatically makes you your own boss, a job creator and you will enjoy lots of freedom. You don't really need to have lots of money before going into entrepreneurship, some don't even required any money, but your dedication. Wait! Let me ask you a question, please aside your school certificate, what can you offer?, without your school certificate, is your school life a waste?, it is very normal for us to go to school, get good grades etc, but if you have nothing to offer apart from your certificate, then you are one of Nigeria problems. Don't be a LIABILITY, why must you be a liability to Nigeria?, why must you depend on federal government for job?, why don't you use your God given talents to create job for yourself and other graduates, the world is advancing, and we are in computer age, the best place to technologically develop yourself is colleges, you don't need any investment, there are lots of digital skills you can learn as a students, they won't exhaust your time and you can earn lots of money from doing them. Blogging, Social Media Marketting, Regit, Digital Marketing, Content Marketing, Affiliates Marketing, Information Marketing, Logo Designing/Branding, Website Designing, SEO, Freelancing, Web Development, App Development, Java, Graphic designing, Importation, Photography, Photo and Video Editing, YouTube Video Making/Editing, Coaching/Consultancy, Podcasting etc..... All these are great digital skills that you need to know at least two before leaving the college, it is absurd, yes I repeat ABSURD! to leave the college with the aim of depending on certificates. Assuming you finished college and you were able to secure a good Job, you will be working for some certain set of people and the owner of the company will be earning more than ten times of what you are receiving as salary, you're using your creativity and talent as his/her own source of income, why don't you think on your own and be creative? I am not saying you shouldn't work, but never have it in mind to settle for the job of yours that is fetching you below #100,000 every month, even if it is above #100,000 there is need for you not to settle for less but expand your business, never relent on salaries, be creative and market the creativity to people, let people work for you. Most of the billionaires don't depend on their certificates, Bill Gate is a programmer, Aliko Dangote is a businessman, Linda Ikeji is a blogger, Davido is a musician, Mark Zuckerbag also designed Facebook and Instagram, almost all these people graduated from university, if they focus on their certificates, they might not attain the heights they are in today, almost all of them started from Zero, now they are Heroes. In addition to this, I would love to advise students to be more dedicated, have discovered from research that majority of students focus their certificates alone because they think education is the shortcut to making it in life, there is no shortcut to life, and education is not an automatic ticket to making it in life, it is just an........ We've been using our mobile phone for all sort of things since all these days yet we are having one or two problems as a student, why can't we just use our mobile phone as a problem solver?, find out in this article targeted at 4 mobile applications. 1. ALARMY Are you an heavy sleeper?, lol.... Have you ever plan to read in the midnight?, pray in the midnight?, or you have lectures, test or examinations early in the morning and you must wake up as early as possible??, to achieve this, yes you have to set alarm, I mean alarm that will wake you up!! Let me tell you a secret, 90% of those who set alarm usually snooze the alarm or terminate it while it is ringing, lol, have also experienced it before, well you're on the right track because you will say no to such using this application. Alarmy is an application that allows you to set certain task before you can deactivate it, this particular application is regarded as the most annoying alarm clock app by lots of users, why?. The features of this application will answer this question. This app is an alarm clock app that allows you to set some tasks, tasks like - Solving Mathematics questions, questions range from 1 to 200 and you can set it to be easy questions (ordinary addition of random numbers), normal questions (addition and subtraction of random numbers) and difficult questions (multiplication, addition and subtraction of random numbers) don't bother about not liking mathematics, the questions are very basic and primary school pupils can solve them, depends on how you can sleep, for heavy sleeper like me, I do set 50easy maths questions and before I answer them, I won't be feeling sleepy again - Taking pictures of registered places, you can register your toilet or some places outside your room, so.... Before you stop the alarm, you must snap the place again - Scan registered barcode, you can register some barcode and scan the barcode again before you can stop the alarm. N.B: after you've set the alarm, you can set it not to be editable till it rang, if the Alarm started ringing, you can't stop it unless you perform the chosen task, you won't be able to silent your phone, you won't be able to switch off your phone and you can't snooze the alarm. There is more to the app, just get it first, you won't regret using it. 2. DON'T TOUCH MY PHONE Night class gang, where are you , if you are a fan of night class, please get this app, the rate at with people steal phones during night classes is very alarming, well with this app..... Your phone won't be stolen, you only have to place your phone down, activate the app and then lock your phone, if anyone touches your phone, I mean if anybody dare to take your phone!, boom he's doomed!!!The app works by ringing whenever the position of your phone changes, if anybody change the position of your phone, the phone will start vibrating and ringing loudly so that your attention will be called to it, the funniest part is.... The thief won't be able to stop the app because he/she will need to unlock your phone first before stopping the app. Imagining you charging your phone and someone........ PHONE ADDICTION: PROVEN SOLUTIONS TO IT PHILOMATH March 01, 2019 | Tutorials The problem most students face nowadays is phone addiction, this has done more harm than good, some students spend more time on social media instead of reading their books, some will not even spend 30 minutes reading before going back to their phone. How nice would it be if you can break free from this phone addiction?, if you can read your books without being disturbed by social media or YouTube! In this article, you will be learning how to read effectively without pressing your phone or how you can reduce the addictions to your phone using mobile applications, you can try it now and thank Philomath later. 1. SELF CONTROL The first application on my list is Self Control, self control is a mobile application that allow users to block access to certain applications on their phone over some period of time. To set it up, you can go to the app settings and choose airplane mode, this will turn the phone to airplane mode during the time you are studying, you can also prevent your phone from using home screen. In addition, you can either set the application to run manually or set your study timetable, after setting the study time table, the app will automatically initiate itself at the time sets, you can also set the applications you want to be executable on your phone during your study time. Lastly, assuming you initiated the app and you are blocking access to WhatsApp, but there is urgency to check something on WhatsApp, no matter what you do, you can't access WhatsApp unless the time you set elapsed or else you will have to format your phone, because you won't be able to stop the app or uninstall it after it has been launched, I could remember the first day I downloaded the app, I mistakenly set the app to 24hours and initiated it, I couldn't access any apps on my phone and I couldn't stop the app, I was able to use my phone after the 24hours elapsed. You can get the app from play store, but if you can't find it, click on "chat with us on WhatsApp" that is on our blog, send a message to us on WhatsApp that you need it and it will be sent to you, but if you don't like this app, you can try the next one. 2. ANTISOCIAL Antisocial is a powerful mobile app that works exactly like self control. This app: Tells you the number of time you unlock your phone everyday Total minute you spent on social media per day Your favorite apps Apps that consume your time and also block them for some time Blacklist (block access to) certain applications on your phone for some period of time 3. COLD TURKEY There is need for you to do some research online, so this compelled you to make one of your browsers executable, but you're afraid that you will misuse the browser, and use it to stream videos online, chat on social media and all sort, this is where Cold Turkey comes in. WELCOME TO SPOTLIGHT, SECTION OF THEBRAINYFOX BLOG WHERE WE DISCUSS TRENDING TOPICS, this article is written by Taiye Temitope Abdulrasheed (#Rasbom) Department of Agriculture University of Ilorin. Harbdulrasheed@gmail.com Since the release of the 2019 presidential election result, we have seen numerous ethnic/tribal comments as to why he should or shouldn't have emerge. With 4 points I will like to inform us why His emergence isn't a surprise to me in anyway. 1. Northern effect: We have seen comments from our social media activists and politicians calling the northerners names for the emergence of President Buhari, but have we take it upon ourselves to consider why this people go back home to support Buhari?. Over the years, one thing I have learnt from the Hausa and Fulani's is the urge to always go back to there various homes to vote. No true northerners will because of his/her business stay back in the southern part of the country when it is election time but see we the southerners, we will always want to stay back in the north during election times to make more sales rather than come back home to give our region the much needed votes. On calling the northerners illiterates, for the fact that it's only few of them that possess savvy gadgets that most of we southerners posses, they are more updated than we will ever be. An average northerner will always be in possession of a transistor radio no matter the situation, they prefer it been the only gadget they possess. Here we are, the much educated southerners. All we use our technology for is Internet frauds, Social media savages and other things that has little or no effect on the development of the country as well as about our knowledge of the current situations in the country. 2. Elite and Masses effect Since the inception of this present administration in the year 2015. We have seen numerous policies by the present administration but we haven't see any that favours the idea of the Rich getting richer at the expense of the poor. Seeing the president loosing in places like Banana Island, Aso Villa, VGC and Abuja isn't surprising to me at all. Over the years, we have seen a system where most civil servants don't even know how much there basic salary is due to the gross corruption we have in the system, which make those with a basic salary of 250k choosing a standard of living worth millions. But now in the situation of Reduced corrupt system where those with abnormal salaries can't live up to the means they have created for themselves, they aren't able to gift money to those they dash out money to anyhow. Now tell me how you expect this kind of people to support a man that makes there survival worse than that of the poor man on the street. 3. Infrastructure/Poverty alleviation: Here is a government that makes infrastructure there priority. Anyone that is conversant with the government of the All Progressive Congress even back from the days of ACN/CPC will agree with me that this is a government that is more concerned about Infrastructure than Infrastomach. We have seen the government over the years concentrating more on capital projects than anything else with the revival of most of the dead Public companies been achieved bit by bit. The administration has made itself one that focuses on most of the white elephant projects the previous government has been financing over the years. Power project, Mokwa-Jebba road, Rail line dualization and many more. Talking about the poverty alleviation programs of the administration, where we have programs like Npower, Tradermoni. One has to be factual that it's a big mistake for the opposition to make mention of aborting the Npower program having been the one that first come with a the short lived Sure-P which has little or no benefit to the masses. Telling the people that this program will be cancelled is just like telling us that they plan on returning the millions of beneficiaries of this program back to been unemployed. With the Tradermoni, If it is tagged Vote buying I will have love to agree but this is a program that doesn't mandate the beneficiaries to submit neither there VIN nor there voters card. Never in the history of Nigeria have we had a government that considers the power of the Common market men and women in electoral process. Empowering this set of people with a non interest loan and a 6 month repayment time is nothing but a strategy to tell the common man that they are important. 4. Campaign Strategy: Here we have an administration using the phrase "We have less and we have done more, they have more but they did nothing" as the center of there campaigns as well as the president given more priority to his official assignment than he do bad mouthing the opponents. Most political parties need to understand that Nigeria has evolve to been a country where propaganda don't really work on the electorates. The people are now more concern about what you have to offer and not the mistakes of the current government you're trying to take power from. Most people are now concerned about constructive criticism than they use to be with destructive ones. Buharis administration makes itself one that the majority that are far too busy to get themselves involve in online rancour's are well acquainted with while the opposition are busy using the social media to market themselves to the people that doesn't possess a voters card and the ones that only have voters card because they need a means of identification. I'm not here to explain whether Buhari is a saint or a saviour but I'm just trying to let you know that this is a man that wins the election because of his knowledge of how the people view his government and what governance really means. I as well wish to Congratulate the President for his reelection and wish him the very best and pray Allah give him the strength and Knowledge to move the Country to the Greater Height he envisaged. Welcome to SPOTLIGHT, section of thebrainyfox blog where we discuss trending topics in Nigeria, this article is written by: Orolade Teslim (#DreamChaser) Department of Electrical Electronics Engineering University of Lagos Akoka teslimorolade@gmail.com Elections have come and gone, some people have become atiquiet while others have moved to the NextLevel.... But in all of these lives were lost, according to election observers, over 30 Nigerians were killed on election day. One of them is Daniel Usman, an 100 level student of Kogi State University who was reportedly killed for failing to vote APC. In this article, I write a letter to Daniel Usman...Take a look.... Dear Usman, It's the morning of today, the day after you were slained with utter disdain. As I write you, I write with a stained heart and a tainted mind trying to detail the pains which I still feel. You were a strong advocate of peace, but got killed. A young ambitious man whose goals got ceased and now you freeze in the cold hands of death. Sad! The men in uniform who lead the system which failed you, now hail you, they say they wish they could do something to bail you. Lies! All Lies !!. Funny how you suddenly rose from zero to hero in the minds of these unscrupulous fellows....Hypocrites!. But, if our hearts continues to beat, and we breath, we will continue to hold you close to our minds and your heroics will never be far from our heads. Hence, we will continue to fight to bring about the Nigeria you never had. For now, we will bury you in honour and grieve. But we will heal with relief and the believe in a future filled with ease. Till we meet in a place better than here. Rest on Usman, a man braver than us all. Source: https://www.thebrainyfox.com.ng/2019/02/a-letter-to-dead-gone-but-not-forgotten.html
