Thanks bro, I learnt the steps for application is somehow different from TRV. Heard someone need to write a letter to home affairs first before applying for PR and other things. Help clarify please.

Is the documents the same as when applying for PR before?

PhD holders automatically qualifies for CSV, CSV first before PR. The department of home affairs only proposed that postgraduate student in critical skill areas will be allowed to qualify for CSV, as at now it has not been implemented. Professional body depends on tour area of expertise.

Ok but can one apply for critical skills while doing PhD then apply for PR afterwards before getting the PhD?

I've heard instances MSc holders from SA institutions get PR if in a critical skills category.
