the series is much more interesting if a dragon dies than no casualty. So the fight between the living and the dead will be even, both have air and land military power. It makes sense, i won't blame Jon though or the hound, they make is more interesting and additional suspense

Ultimately, Jon wasn't at fault for what happened to viserion, neither was tyrion.
Danny didn't need to come, she could've simply stayed back home and let the NK help eliminate a political rival who has refused to bend the knee....... But she did. Showing that willingness to help alone has gotten me on her side... Maybe permanently.
Viserion getting brutally shot out of the sky was not something any of them could've seen coming.

And it won't make sense if she just comes and rescue them all without any casualty
