Try somewhere else..... Your POF is one thing, your economic situation is another. As a civil servant, how much could you be earning? Did you invest all your money so that you can enter Canada to settle when you are granted? If you are truly a holiday maker, your "Travel History" should show same over the years.... Geetaybeks: Hello Everyone.
so all my money is in my investment account which I have been operating for six years now. As a civil servant my salary is low and I get additional income through private drawings i do as an architect. my question is how do i show my proof of funds. I was denied previously based on i don't have sufficient funds for my stay though i also submitted my my investment account to show proof of funds. I have a brother who is a Canadian citizen and I intend to visit him in Canada. I am married with four kids |

We want to formally inform the community that we are permanently stopping the weekly giveaway on Nairaland.
We originally chose Nairaland to build in public, share progress, and engage in meaningful conversations around what we are building. The giveaway was never the core objective, it was only a secondary effort to support engagement, not the foundation of our presence here.
Due to the direction things have taken, we’ve decided that: • All giveaways will no longer happen on Nairaland, permanently. • We will continue giveaways on other platforms such as Instagram and X, where participation is tied to real, identifiable accounts rather than faceless profiles. • A clear structure for how rewards will be earned and distributed will be announced on those platforms. • We are also handing over all PR and community engagement to a dedicated team, allowing us to focus fully on building and execution.
We appreciate those who contributed constructively and followed the journey for the right reasons. Updates may still be shared here from time to time, but giveaways on Nairaland have ended permanently.
Thank you for the understanding. |

Your dad's personal circumstance is more important than you uncles sponsorship.... As an adult at that age with zero travel history, he'll need to demonstrate his ability to sponsor himself and the wife even if the brother is sponsoring. Traveling for a month also shows he has little or nothing to come home to...... - Show enough money for the trip and in savings to come back home to meet - Show reasons to come back home (Economic & Family) - Draft a cover note explaining why the trip (emotional and otherwise) as that trip aint cheap - Why has he not travelled all his life though? Tadyde: Hello house!
My uncle wants to invite my dad and my aunt to visit him in Canada for 1 month. My uncle is a Medical doctor in Canada. He intends to sponsor everything about their visit. My aunt is retired and has been to the UK once, but my dad has no travel history, he's self employed. They are both in their 60's. Can you please suggest convincing documents we can submit to create a successful visa application.
Thank you. |

Brilliant decision!! Conversation had started dragging away from the core of the Topic. Bitterness and bile started to spew amongst followers for peanuts....... Glad that has been stopped, it would separate the Wolves from the Sheep. Please share updates (as well as social media handles) here as well once there are new developments. aerolagos: Hello everyone,

aerolagos: I'm starting a real airline in Nigeria.
This thread will document every single step — from CAC to NCAA to branding, trademarks, aircraft, regulatory approvals, funding, and first flights.
Why am I building this in public? - To lay the foundation for what may become the first open-source airline — everything will be shared except what must remain classified for legal or safety reasons. - To stay accountable — every step of the way, I’ll drop an update. First comment of the week (from Sunday 00:00) gets ₦10,000 airtime or transfer. - Because I want people to tell me I can’t do it — that fuels me. - To build around potential users, not just investors or regulators. - To ask for help — from people smarter than me. - Because the person reading this might be my next crew member, partner, or promoter. - And to open up a working template for anyone else crazy enough to try this too.
Even if I don’t show up, your comments will always bring me back.
I’ll stay anonymous for now. I want the story to stand on its own. No flex. Just execution.
Follow along. Learn. Doubt. Build yours.
— anon This is nothing short of AUDATIOUS!! As an Aviator with over 20years experience with great emphasis on customer service i have a lot to contribute to not just the practical operations but also policy formulation. - Pioneer staff Ground Services Virgin Nigeria - 25 states travel within Nigeria - 20 states / 10 countries worldwide I'll be pitching in with [Ground Handling / Customer Service Manual, GDS, Dangerous Goods......] Good luck, we're rooting for you!! |

Damian457: Really? teamb: You will be sent back and your visa will be revoked at the poe. Will recommend you apply for renewal, I know someone that got visa revoked because of less than two months Canadian visa False information: Passenger is going to U.S not Canada they have different rules to their visas. While U.S has enter "On-or-before"(you can come in the day before it expires and the POE officer grants you a duration of stay, Canada has an outright "Expiry date" you can not come in days before. |

Damian457: USA U.S visas like South Africa, U.A.E and a few others Have an "Enter on or before" date as their expiry date. If his visa has 3 weeks to "expire" he would be allowed in as the final duration of stay would be granted by the Point of Entry (POE) officer (usually 6 months *its best he doesnt stay that long. |

Good day, By the time you are filling out the form, you'll realize that information regarding your history with the law would be asked. HAVE YOU EVER BEEN CONVICTED OF ANY CRIMINAL OFFENCE IN THE UK OR ANY COUNTRY? HAVE YOU BEEN ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH ANY OFFENCE IN ANY COUNTRY AND ARE AWAITING, OR ARE CURRENTLY ON TRIAL? HAVE YOU RECEIVED ANY OTHER PENALTY IN RELATION TO A CRIMINAL OFFENCE; FOR EXAMPLE A CAUTION, REPRIMAND, WARNING, OR SIMILAR PENALTIES IN THE UK OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY? HAVE YOU HAD ANY UK COURT JUDGEMENT AGAINST YOU FOR NON-PAYMENT OF A DEBT, OR RECEIVED A CIVIL PENALTY UNDER UK IMMIGRATION ACTS? You need to be careful how you answer these questions..... NickMelvon: Hi guys, I studied and lived in the UK for some years and I had a situation there before coming back to Nigeria. There was a time i was ban from driving for over a year based on alcohol. Within the period of my ban i was still driving and later i was caught. When charged to court for driving while being bsn i was given a community order to attend one program for correction once a week for a full year. However i attended it only twice and never did again till i returned back to Nigeria. At the airport i was scared they might see am wanted for not completing my community order but they never daid anything and i returned back safely.
My visa has since expired because i have been in Nigeria now over 5 years but then i want to apply for a visa to visit and get married to someone i had a relationship with at a point because we have agreed to do that.
I want to know from the experts in the house if that issue i had back then will affect my visa application. |

i'm trying to renew my Canadian visa but my passport is till at the U.K embassy. The VFS didnt allow me submit documents only so i have to upload online.
On the online portal, i can see the TRV form and Family Information form links are active, but there is no link (just text) for other supporting documents. I have used various browsers, i have refreshed lime 20 times.

Raahym: @theforce, you don't seem to understand my predicament and you have made 1 wrong judgement and other errors in response to my message. If i wanted to run away i would have done so the first time i had the opportunity with my whole family a six month multiple visa and subsequently have gone to a schengen territory and most recently i have another schengen with my family. So i presume this is enof travel experience and brother i do have my own business that's thriving but like every other businesses sometimes you dont have enof money sitting in your account. This is the basis of my question which justwise as answered correctly but you, what did you do? jumped to wrong conclusion and judged wrongly. Go back and read through my messages and justwise response then you will understand. There is invited person here in my case maybe you cant even read well i suppose.
Shalom We only act in an advisory capacity as this is what i've been doing for a while now. However, if your question has been answered by Justwise all I can add is good Luck. Have a great trip also. Shalom |
