There is this audio that's circulating in ghana of PEJ. It is played almost every day. it was a speech she gave during one of her political campaigns for her husband. She was quoted as saying in pidgin; "if pikin no sabi do well in school u for repeat am" meaning if some Nigerians are claiming that her husband has done nothing, they should vote for him again. Has anybody heard that audio? Is it true that she said that or it wasn't? |

While reading the Qur'an, we may get tired or our breath may run out at a certain point and must stop to take a breath. The point of our stopping sometimes may cause a very ill meaning. For this reason, scholars assigned various letters to control the reading. Most of the time we don't take notice of these characters. Please, learn the meaning of these letters and apply it while you read the QUR'AN. 1. The Compulsory Stop is the stop by which the word and meaning give a complete sense, and this is called complete stop because the utterance is complete and is separated from what follows. It is indicated by ( ﻡ )(meem). 2. The Permissible Stop is the one at which stopping or continuing is permissible. In this type you can either continue or make a stop. In this case either continuing or making a stop is preferable. (a.) The Sufficient Stop is the one in which continuing or stopping is permissible; yet making a stop is preferable. It is called sufficient, because it can stand by itself, independently of what follows, because it is not connected with it in words. Its symbol is ( ﻗﻠﻰ ) Qili. (b.) The Equality Stop is the one in which continuing and stopping are equally relevant; Its symbol is ( ﺝ ) (Jeem) (c.) The Good Stop is the one in which continuing and stopping are permissible; and yet continuing is desirable. It is called a good stop because it gives a preferable effect. Its sign is ( ﺻﻠﻲ ) (sili) 3. The Precautionary Stop (also called the convergence of stops). It indicates the convergence of two near situations where it is possible to make a stop. In such case, a stop is made at one of these two situations only. 4. The Prohibited Stop is the stop made at an incomplete utterance which does not give the required meaning, because it is strongly connected with what follo!ws in terms of words and meaning. This kind of stop is prohibited. Its symbol is ( ﻻ ) (Laam - Alif) 5. The Moderate pause is the breaking of the voice at a Qur'anic word for a brief moment without taking a breath at two counts [nearly two seconds] Its symbol is (s) ( ﺱ ) (seen). The Ghana Navy on Saturday foiled a pirate attack on a Nigerian cargo vessel, MT Mariam and captured all eight bandits. The pirates were armed, but no one, including a nine-member crew aboard MT Mariam, was injured when the Ghana Navy crew aboard GNS BLIKA effected the arrest. According to the Public Relations Officer of the 1 Garrison of theGhana Armed Forces, Lt Maxwell Asola, all eight pirates are Nigerians. Owners of the hijacked ship alerted the Ghana Navy about the incident and requested for assistance. MV Mariam is scheduled to dock at the port on Sunday. Lt. Maxwell Asola told the Daily Graphic that the arrest took place at about 10:30am and that the owner of the vessel in lodging the complaint, said the pirates told him via telephone that they wanted to use the vessel to carry out an attack and banged the phone. This prompted the owner of MV Mariam to approach the Ghana Navy for assistance. |
